Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: The Legacy of the ”Magician

It was the voice of Aunt Macy and the townspeople.

Hearing such a call, Alka turned to look outside the cave.

The sky outside was completely dark, with brilliant stars scattered on the black canvas.

A high-hanging full moon reflected on the sea, casting a softer silver light.

Alka’s first reaction was, Oh no.

He was now in the cave on the cliff; below were his footprints and a rope dangling down.

Unless they were blind, they couldn’t possibly fail to notice him.

By then, they might discover that he had found the treasure.

No, I’ve merely found some scraps. That’s not enough to make them so envious.

Alka looked down at the coins and two small rubies in his hand.

A total value of 36 Silver Snakes, which was the earnings of a craftsman over seven or eight years.

This would only arouse their envy, but with Aunt Macy’s family protecting him, they wouldn’t act irrationally over such a small amount of money.

Moreover, he recalled that the residents of Memory Island were very united and somewhat xenophobic.

Not to mention it was the inheritance left by his maternal ancestors.

On the contrary, his being secretive would make people overthink.

After figuring this out, Alka moved into action immediately.

He went directly to the cave entrance, waved the torch outside twice, and shouted, ”I’m here!”

The light from the torch and his voice carried outwards.

”Look up there, there’s a torch.”

”It’s that rascal Alka’s voice, thank goodness he’s all right.”

”I told you, nothing would happen to Alka; he’s just a bit mischievous.”

”Macy was too worried. But why is that rascal up there? How did he get up?”

The townspeople, upon discovering Alka, gathered around.

Aunt Macy, holding a torch, stood below and shouted to Alka, ”What are you doing up there? Hurry and come down! Do you know how worried I was about you?”

”I’m coming down right away. Please make some space!”

「An hour later.」

Alka returned to his home.

Aunt Macy was holding the bag with his mother’s remains, her eyes still showing clear traces of tears.

Her husband, Boka, was by her side.

Siegert, who was carrying a 50-pound metal block, placed it by the door upon entering.

He panted and said, ”Why did you have to bring this thing back? It’s just a block of metal, and not even a good one. Are you planning to become a blacksmith?”

Hearing his words, Alka just gave an awkward smile.

He couldn’t possibly say this was the treasure, although he couldn’t see what was so special about this treasure either.

Originally, he was going to carry it himself, but Aunt Macy insisted her son help carry the metal block back.

Even though Siegert was reluctant, considering Alka had just recovered, he grudgingly brought it back.

Aunt Macy wiped her tears, then pinched her son’s ear harshly.

Ignoring her son’s cries, she solemnly and gently placed the bag with the ashes on the table.

As if fearing it was unstable, she propped it up firmly with some other items.

The bracelet she held open in her hand, representing his mother’s identity, was gently placed on the table.

She wiped her tears once more.

”Alka, keep your mother’s remains safe. Tomorrow, I’ll talk to Priest Parker Kqi and prepare for the funeral.”

Then, she walked over, hugged Alka tightly, and patted him vigorously on the shoulder.

”Don’t be sad. Finding your mother’s remains is a good thing.”

”Take a good rest. We can talk about everything tomorrow.”

After saying that, she pulled her husband and son out the door.

Before leaving, Boka turned back and nodded silently at Alka.

Siegert obviously had more to say to Alka, but faced with his mother’s firmness, he could only unwillingly leave with them.

Siegert’s eyes, as he left, still showed a strong desire to talk. Alka had indeed found a treasure! Although it was merely remnants already picked over by others, for young men like them, it was incredibly exciting. It was just such a terrible shame that someone had gotten to the treasure first.

Once Aunt Macy’s family left the small yard, Alka immediately locked the windows and doors.

Alka then brought the oil lamp to his bedside.

Settling down by the oil lamp, he opened the manual, turning to the map page.

On the ordinary-looking map, spots of light appeared.

Now, only two white dots were left, and the blue glowing dot along the coast had dimmed, turning into an ordinary blue circle.

Alka reached out to tap on it.

[Jack’s Magic Treasure] (Harvested)

[Difficulty: Adult]

[Fame: 1,325]

[Treasure Information: The legacy of the captain of the famous Treasure Hunting Ship ”Dream Poker” - ”Magician” Jack Monk.]

[Treasure Harvest: 1 Golden Sail, 1 Golden Leaf, 6 Silver Snakes, 2 small gemstones. Jack Monk’s ”Magician” legacy.]

The gold coins were still in his pocket.

The ”Magician” legacy was likely that metal ingot weighing over 50 pounds.

Was that the legacy?

And here I thought it was some incredibly precious metal.

Alka immediately wiped the metal ingot by the door clean and brought it onto the bed.

This was like a fully cast metal ingot. So the question is, how do I obtain the legacy?

A blood drip?

This was the first method that came to mind, an idea that instantly popped into his head.

When it came to mystical powers, blood-dripping was a classic method.

Besides, he was indeed a relative of Jack, so he could be considered a distant descendant.

Maybe dripping blood will actually work.

Thinking of this, Alka immediately picked up the small knife on the table and made a light cut on his finger.

A small bloody mark appeared on his forefinger. With a hard squeeze, a drop of blood finally appeared, swaying as it dripped down.

Alka watched with wide eyes.

However, the blood dripped onto the metal ingot, splattering, but nothing special happened.

Useless.

What other way could there be to activate it?

A Spell?

A hand gesture?

Surely it doesn’t require some special power, like Magic Power or something?

If that were the case, then he would be truly stuck.

He picked up the metal ingot and began to carefully touch and examine its surface, not missing the slightest detail.

When he acquired it earlier, he was interrupted by the shouts from outside and hadn’t had time to observe it carefully.

Except for the patterns on it, he couldn’t see anything particularly special.

Suddenly, on the cross-section of the metal ingot, he felt a slightly uneven spot.

He picked up the oil lamp and looked closely.

There were recessed lines filled with dirt, making them unclear in the dim room.

Using his fingernails, he dug out all the dirt from the grooves and blew hard on the spot.

The lines revealed themselves.

Two words.

”Chanting”
