Evolution Begins with Elemental Domination

”What’s the hurry?”

Su Chen whispered softly, his tone almost gentle.

With a single thought, he cleverly placed a gravity anchor on her lower body.

An intense gravitational force pressed down hard.

But in the next instant, the woman before him, her potential unlocked, surged upward with all her might. The burst of speed was too ferocious for her to control. Caught between the two opposing forces, her midsection exploded in a warm mist of blood as her muscles, sinews, and bones were all torn apart.

She had been literally torn in half by the force of her own escape.

A small, spur-of-the-moment trick had easily claimed her life.

Droplets of warm blood spattered through his tattered Telekinesis Barrier, landing on his left cheek and collar. It added a touch of cold, merciless cruelty to his handsome face.

RAT-A-TAT-TAT!!

The roar of heavy gunfire erupted once more.

Oran City didn’t prohibit firearms. Not only did the city have all sorts of gun shops, but it also maintained its own armories. Some other factories with precision machine tools could also be converted to manufacture weapons.

It was safe to say they had an inexhaustible supply of ammunition—far more than food.

BANG!

Normal bullets weren’t powerful enough to pierce Su Chen’s Telekinesis Barrier, but after being accelerated from their barrels and enhanced by Enchantment, they still left dents in the invisible, two-layered composite shield.

Su Chen couldn’t stay in one place for long.

The earlier close-range Teleportation Gate explosion had already torn through his two shields. Now, the newly formed Telekinesis Barrier was already pockmarked after just a few seconds.

It was a testament to the battle’s intensity.

’I just need to wait a little longer.’

An invisible surge of his Strong Will permeated outward, pulling the head from the mangled corpse to extract the precious Spirit Marrow Crystal that had crystallized inside.

HUM!

Just then, two Water Mirror Screens rapidly formed in the air, like a pair of waterfalls cascading down. The bullets from the auto-fire poured toward them, only to have their trajectories deflected the moment they touched the water’s surface.

A dozen ricochets flew back, shredding the shoulder of a shooter hiding behind a rock.

This bizarre redirection caused the density of the surrounding gunfire to drop骤然, as some of the men were forced to dodge the bullets.

”Get out of the way.”

With a furious roar, the tall Warlock who had previously completed his Demon Transformation spread his wings wide. He smashed into one of the Water Mirror Screens with a Shadow Assault, shattering it into a sky full of crystalline water droplets.

This effortless act of destruction was a clear display of the unimaginable Power his Demon form possessed.

After absorbing the Spirit Marrow Crystal, Su Chen immediately hurled the woman’s head at his opponent.

SWISH!

The Demon Warlock didn’t even glance at it, swatting it apart with a single claw.

As the head exploded, nine Runes of varying tiers fanned out like confetti, showering down in a spray of blood mist.

This move undoubtedly tempted the gang’s undisciplined members; at the very least, some of the eyes fixed on Su Chen were drawn away.

But Su Chen advanced instead of retreating.

CLANG!

The Holy Sword was unsheathed.

In an instant, the blade was wreathed in Plasma Holy Flame that fluttered like silk.

Facing the Demon Warlock, who radiated a thick, sinister aura of evil, Su Chen charged and swung. His Steel Bones and Iron Flesh trait activated with a roar. The muscle fibers in his arms contracted and swelled at an overclocked frequency, like steel cables, channeling immense force into the hands gripping the Holy Sword.

CLANK!

Sword and claw collided, sending sparks flying. For a brief moment, they were locked in a stalemate.

A flicker of astonishment crossed the Demon Warlock’s hideous face. His opponent could actually match him in strength.

’No, that’s not right...’

In less than half a second, an overwhelming, torrential force crashed down, and the balance was instantly broken.

The Plasma Holy Flame poured from the sword’s tip.

CRACK!

The Demon Warlock’s claws cracked first, and black blood splattered. As his body was sent flying backward like a cannonball, a stream of high-temperature particles instantly burned through his demonic flesh.

Immediately after...

His entire body exploded into a massive swarm of black bats. Hundreds of Vampire Bats let out a psychic screech and, like a cloud of black smoke, tried to envelop and devour Su Chen.

This tactic was indeed unexpected.

But even though the close-range screech pierced his tattered Telekinesis Barrier, he also had a layer of Spiritual Shelter over his Sea of Consciousness, rendering his opponent’s countermeasure completely useless.

’The Telekinesis Rune is just too versatile, after all.’

Silently, his figure vanished once more.

”Careful, he has a female archer as backup!”

The Heart Sword Warlock warned. The two previously ignored arrows that had missed their mark were now emanating invisible ripples, scanning the environment of Eagle’s Beak Valley and any hidden personnel.

”Right! Don’t try to catch her arrows!”

Someone else shouted in agreement.

A moment ago, most of them had been too preoccupied to notice anything else, but two bodies were now lying silently within the valley.

One had been holding a modified riot shield, the other a fantasy-style round shield. The stealthed Yan Ruoruo had slipped into the valley and exploited their subconscious instinct to block with their shields, successfully sending two Spiritual Energy Arrows straight through their heads.

Upon impact, there were no external wounds, but their central nervous systems had been destroyed from the inside.

That wasn’t all.

There was also a sniper providing support from a distance. Although some shots had missed, one over-the-horizon bullet had still blown a gunman’s head clean off, making it difficult for everyone to focus solely on Su Chen.

”Watch out, he’s coming!”

The group couldn’t spare anyone to provide medical aid.

Because Su Chen had reappeared, now hovering above many of their heads.

A fierce Wind caused the hem of his clothes to flutter. His eyes, looking down from on high, made the hearts of all who looked up at him seize with terror.
