Evolution Begins with Elemental Domination

”Only one intact solar panel, and another that we might be able to patch up.”

Pang Peng, Yan Ziqian, and the others had searched the abandoned vehicle site. A dozen or so RVs were strewn haphazardly amidst the overgrown weeds. Their photovoltaic panels were smashed to bits, clearly destroyed by the owners themselves before they retreated.

It was also possible that other retreating personnel, seeing they couldn’t take the panels, decided to destroy them out of spite.

”The good news is, a lot of the batteries inside the vehicles are still here.”

Pang Peng was thrilled. Compared to the easily damaged photovoltaic panels on the rooftops, the batteries hidden inside the vehicle frames were safe and sound.

In terms of Earth prices, these batteries were far more expensive than the solar panels.

”CATL 12V/200Ah LiFePO4 batteries, and the matching controllers are still here too. This will make modifications much easier.” Pang Peng, the group’s electrician, was delighted.

Due to the abundant sunlight in the new world, a standard-sized 600-1200W photovoltaic panel could fully charge the batteries twice over during a single clear day.

The group began to carefully dismantle the batteries from the vehicle frames according to his instructions.

In fact, following this line of thinking, the battery packs from new energy vehicles would also be incredibly useful. However, successfully connecting them to solar panels would require inverters and charge controllers, and the modification work involved would be much more substantial.

「On the other side.」

The Trans-Line Club, who were also holding their ground at the campground, naturally noticed the commotion.

They were located in the guesthouse hotel in the public service area and were well aware that a small group had occupied a nearby camping supply store.

”One group is dismantling RV battery packs, and another is scavenging for supplies on the commercial street.”

On the rooftop, two men were observing with binoculars, relaying the information via radio to the guards below.

They had no desire to attack; on the contrary, they were afraid someone might come after their own RVs.

Since noon yesterday, some of their members, led by their boss Lv Taihong, had already headed to the Sanctuary in the city district to change classes. They really didn’t want to cause any unnecessary trouble.

Furthermore, a powerhouse of mysterious identity lived in that supply store, one who had even mastered an Ice Element summoning Rune.

The scene of an Ice Feather Frost Bird battling a massive bird had once appeared in the sky above the base. This display, which transcended the limits of reality, was enough to inspire an unspeakable level of awe and fear.

And whenever night fell, a faint curtain of shadow would occasionally rise over their encampment, adding a layer of mystery like an invisible barrier.

Because of this, rumors about that powerhouse were running rampant. The person was elusive, and it was believed they spent most of their time in the forest.

”Just who the hell is this person?”

If you were to ask who the strongest person at the base was before, the consensus would have undoubtedly been Feng Zhiyuan, the owner of the archery hall.

But now, it seemed there was another master.

”That must be him. Lucky bastard. Those two women with him are gorgeous.”

One of the men adjusted the focus on his binoculars, locking onto a tall, cold-looking figure’s back. He couldn’t help the sour taste of jealousy in his mouth.

But in the next second, the man in his view, as if he had eyes in the back of his head, suddenly turned and shot him a sideways glance. The gaze was as cold as a blade, making the observer’s scalp tingle and his heart skip a beat. He instinctively ducked back behind the wall.

”My mistake.”

He pressed himself against the wall, shivering uncontrollably as cold sweat instantly drenched his back.

Still shaken, that single glance awakened a latent memory.

It was him!

He remembered now. On the night the parasite wave broke out, he had tried to fawn all over a voluptuous woman, putting on the full gentlemanly airs of a Bright Knight. But in the end, she showed particular favor to another young man instead.

”No doubt about it, it’s really him...”

It all came back to him. At the radio station, that young man had used Telekinesis with a mere flick of his hand, unleashed a roaring Flame Burst, and slaughtered the Parasite Bodies as easily as if they were dogs.

...

”Besides the Scavenger Squad, who verifiably killed one chimera, the other five recorded human-beast chimeras either fled into the forest or were killed by a mysterious powerhouse wielding a Holy Sword.”

”If he hadn’t single-handedly turned the tide, the situation probably wouldn’t be this good.”

A tall, well-built man from the Law Enforcement Team sighed.

This once-peaceful border town had actually been hit by such a fierce assault. In the post-mortem analysis, aside from the central Rune-forged structures, the intensity of the fighting here could have easily ranked second.

After this battle, the power structure of the border town underwent a major reshuffle.

Among the civilian squads, the well-known Watcher and Brotherhood Squad were as good as wiped out, with nearly all their members killed.

The Spinebreaker and Cleaner Fish squads also suffered heavy losses. Only the Scavenger Squad distinguished themselves, cementing their top-tier status. And in the aftermath, rumors about a mysterious powerhouse grew more and more intense.

Some witnessed him holding a Holy Sword, rising into the sky like a solar corona. Others saw him wreathed in a storm of lightning, clearing the field with waves of fire. And some watched him manipulate gravity to crush a giant insect.

He came and went without a trace, entering the battlefield silently only to vanish in an instant.

The accounts were all conflicting, with varying details.

At first listen, it didn’t sound like they were talking about the same person at all.

His combination of attributes was almost absurd.

He was even more versatile and deadly than the publicly known Five-Element Warlocks.

”They probably just combined the deeds of two different people to create a single savior figure.”

Many people agreed with this sentiment. After all, in a time of apocalyptic crisis, it was inevitable that officials would engage in a bit of ”god-making” for propaganda purposes.

Even the various powerhouses from other groups who had rushed over from the nearby East Gate 3 didn’t think much of it. After collecting their spoils of war, they returned from whence they came without a fuss.

Lin Wanqing sat to the side, somewhat lost in thought.

’Could it be him...?’

She unconsciously fiddled with a loose strand of hair at her temple, her brow furrowed. As she pondered, her thoughts drifted to the mysterious powerhouse who had slaughtered the Dark Element-modified person at the creative park that night.
