Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Similarly significant are two pairs of rings, each symbolizing a century of harmonious union, which were once the wedding rings of a certain King and Queen.

Bertie plans to give one pair to Ian Shelby and Jocelyn, while the other pair is intended for Taylor.

He is undoubtedly a good father, balancing everything perfectly, because only with family harmony can all endeavors thrive.

Trevor and Janelle spent the morning chatting with their father about everyday matters. After all, they hadn’t seen each other in so many years, so there was quite a bit to discuss. The lively conversation drew them closer, with frequent bursts of laughter bridging the father-daughter gap.

He truly had no semblance of a ruler’s demeanor, just an ordinary kind father.

Ian Shelby headed to the hospital a little past nine because he had a high-stakes surgery to lead that had been scheduled from the previous day.

Though Trevor and Janelle stayed to join their father for lunch, Trevor personally cooked while Janelle helped in the kitchen.

No matter what, they wouldn’t let their father fuss about; instead, they had him sit in the living room reading a book.

Listening to the sounds coming from the kitchen, smelling the aroma of the food wafting through, this kind of happiness was something Bertie had never experienced in his lifetime.

This was the joy that only an ordinary father could possess—without power and status, without etiquette and protocols, only warmth and love.

In the afternoon, once Ian Shelby returned, Trevor took Janelle and left, expressing they’d make time soon to accompany their father to Lorelei.

And Bertie didn’t rush them, letting Catherine have ample time to make preparations for their visit.

After they departed, Bertie took out the gift Trevor had given him—a photo album.

He casually turned the pages to look.

It captured moments from Janelle’s childhood to the present, scene by scene, entering his memory...

A hundred or more photos compiled into an album, with a layout designed with particular care.

Bertie stood by the sofa, holding the album, raising his gaze to the direction where their car had left, feeling so touched that his eyes grew misty.

For this father who had been absent for many years, this album was incredibly significant, akin to a priceless treasure.

Alongside the album was a handwritten letter.

He quickly opened it, displaying the classic format of the Whale Style, with penmanship so neat that it was aesthetically pleasing, a visual delight.

The contents were as follows—

Uncle, I admire Janelle very much, and I like her dearly. I sincerely wish to marry her, accompany her, and care for her for a lifetime. When I picked up the pen, I intended to write at length from the heart, but as I put it down, my only wish was to promise you that I’ll love your daughter for a lifetime. Please feel reassured to entrust her to me.

The signature was Trevor’s name, with a timestamp precise to the minute.

It was written at one in the morning yesterday; surely, this outstanding man pondered long while composing such a letter?

Bertie, holding in hand this handwritten note, was genuinely surprised that in this era, there were still handwritten things?

His heart swelled with emotions, filled with sentiment, so overwhelming.

His little Annie was truly a fortunate child, having met such a good family like the Mills, alongside a boyfriend who cherished and loved her...

This young man was very dependable; it was evident from the first glance that he was the kind who would absolutely take responsibility.

Then, Bertie carefully stored the letter with great appreciation, remaining on the sofa, reluctantly flipping through photos of his daughter growing up.

He took a full minute to look at each one, from his daughter’s expressions, to what clothes she wore, to her surroundings... he scrutinized every detail.

Although he hadn’t been part of these past events, he was fortunate enough to witness his daughter’s growth in this manner, feeling he was lucky, and indeed blessed.

Emerald Cove, the backyard’s private airport.

Justin Kingston and Mia Lane embraced their children, bidding farewell, as did Kristina Kingston, yes, their grandmother was taking the children abroad.

The new year celebration had ended, and it was time for the children to return to school.

Justin Kingston advised, ”Gigi, Dolly, while overseas, be sure to listen to your grandmother, never assume you’re smart enough to act up, learn not to cause trouble, and remain low-key.”
