Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Although she seemed to lack a father’s love, Old Mills gave her fatherly love.

But what about a daughter’s love for her father? Who has been there for him all these years?

So Janelle Mills also feels apologetic, and this apology only makes a person feel even worse.

”Alright.” Bertie just wants his daughter to be happy, he turns the page on the past, ”Dad promises you.” He no longer feels guilty or self-blaming, his face carries a smile of joy and gratitude.

Janelle is also very happy, she turns around and comes between Old Mills and Sister Sterling, linking their arms from both sides.

Adjusting her emotions, she introduces them graciously, ”Dad, let me introduce you, this is my mom, Carlotta Sterling, and this is my dad, Nathan Mills. They raised me single-handedly, never lacking familial warmth.”

Bertie knows they just remarried yesterday.

He looks at the two of them, they do look like a couple, and indeed appear to be kind people.

His heart is filled with gratitude for them, so he steps forward, gazing at them for a long time, Old Mills and Sister Sterling are aware he’s the old King, which brings an invisible pressure.

When raising Janelle, they didn’t intend to claim credit, they have always cherished her as their own daughter.

Everyone just looks at each other, the scene is a bit awkward.

The old King doesn’t speak, so they don’t know what to say either.

Unexpectedly, the old King bows deeply to them, suddenly giving a particularly formal salute that surprises everyone, especially Old Mills and Sister Sterling, who are quite taken aback!

They want to help but don’t dare to touch his noble body, in those few seconds, they are caught in a paradox of conflict.

Bertie bows for five seconds, slowly straightening up, ”Thank you both, thank you!” His voice trembles lightly, expressing heartfelt gratitude.

Old Mills and Sister Sterling both smile through tears and shake their heads... everyone is kind-hearted.

”Meeting Janelle was our destiny as well.” Carlotta Sterling wipes her tears.

Janelle’s nose tingles, and tears stream out again.

Bertie can see their good relationship, and also feel their current emotions, so he immediately declares, ”Recognizing my daughter today doesn’t mean I’m taking her away.”

Actually, as he says this, he feels a bit sad inside.

But he has no choice, he understands clearly the fact that kind-hearted people value emotional bonds, being raised by adoptive parents, these bonds cannot be severed.

Thus, he chooses to simply yield, just to ensure his daughter is not sad for the rest of her life, and does not face difficult choices.

He says, ”Janelle is not an item I lost, she’s a flesh and blood person with thoughts, I certainly won’t forcibly impose my ideas on her, although she’s a princess of Lorelei, she is absolutely free.”

Hearing these words, Nathan Mills and Carlotta Sterling are deeply moved.

He also says, ”From now on, Janelle will just have one more family and more people who love her and cherish her.” He wants to provide this couple with enough sense of security, so his daughter can be at ease.

Nobody expected that her biological father would be so open-minded.

While being moved, Janelle suddenly feels relieved too, realizing the convincing words she was ready with are unnecessary now.

Such an open-minded father doesn’t need persuasion at all.

Meanwhile, Nathan Mills and Carlotta Sterling are already so touched they can’t speak anymore, they’re completely at peace too, knowing their daughter hasn’t been taken away.

Then everyone moves into the living room, sits down for deeper conversations, the atmosphere is harmonious and joyful, gradually feeling more like a family, mainly because the old King has no airs at all, his demeanor today is that of a loving father.

”But Janelle, Dad hopes you can go back to the country for a visit.” Bertie sits on the couch, holding his daughter’s hand, invitingly saying, ”You can treat it as traveling.”

”I’ll call you Father then.” The girl smiles, looking at him, then at Old Mills, she says, ”This way it’s easier to distinguish.”

”Sure.” As long as he can acknowledge his daughter, what she calls him doesn’t matter at all, ”Would you be willing to take your parents to Lorelei to stay for a while?”
