Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

In the room, the young couple were discussing plans, already starting to chart a beautiful future together.

Downstairs, Carlotta Sterling paced in front of the window, thinking—

Old Mills just left from here, they probably didn’t notice, right?

For some reason, she wasn’t ready for her daughter to know about the progress of her relationship; she felt it was her own matter and that this current feeling was the best.

Before long, footsteps approached from behind.

Carlotta snapped out of her thoughts and turned her eyes, seeing Trevor with his arm around Janelle’s shoulder coming down the stairs, appearing at the landing.

”Mom, we’re planning to visit Dad for New Year celebrations, do you want to join us?” Janelle Mills invited her with a face full of smiles.

”I won’t go.” Carlotta wasn’t particularly resistant; she just smiled a bit awkwardly, ”I’ve made plans with my girlfriends; they’re coming over soon.”

She knew she would refuse; they slept together last night, so it’s not urgent to meet, it might be a bit awkward, especially in front of the kids.

”Aunt, then we’ll head off first,” Trevor said to her as he came downstairs, ”We’ll visit Uncle Mills first, and then have lunch with my dad; my sister and her husband will also be there.”

A big reunion.

”Okay, okay,” Carlotta reminded, ”Janelle, have you prepared gifts for Uncle Dalton?”

”I...”

”She has, she has,” Trevor with his arm still around her shoulder, ”I’m going with Janelle, I’ll take care of these things; she doesn’t need to worry.”

He’s really protective of her; through this period, it showed that Carlotta was finally completely at ease handing her daughter over to him.

Just as Trevor was about to leave with Janelle, Carlotta couldn’t help but grab Janelle’s arm, smiling, ”Well... come here for a moment, Mom wants to ask you something.”

Janelle exchanged a glance with Trevor, seeing the kind smile on Carlotta’s face, Trevor gently lifted the corners of his mouth, ”Go on, go on, I’ll sit here, you two take your time.”

It’s normal for mother and daughter to have some private words; even though Trevor would soon know the content of the conversation.

So, Carlotta took Janelle to the side chamber, while Trevor settled into the sofa.

”Sister Sterling, what’s up?” Janelle felt somewhat awkward, ”We’re talking behind his back, it feels like we’re saying bad things about him.”

”His heart isn’t that small,” Carlotta affirmed, looking seriously at her daughter, ”I ask you, did you stay at his place last night?”

”Yes.”

”Then... did you two sleep together?”

”...” How should she answer this? Janelle Mills met her mother’s gaze.

Carlotta’s brows furrowed with concern, ”Did you lose your first time? Are you that casual?”

”Who said it’s lost?” Janelle hurriedly explained, ”Of course not, it’s a matter of principle, okay? We just...” she lowered her voice, ”We just slept on the same bed holding each other all night, nothing happened.”

”A man and a woman alone, how is that possible?” Carlotta began to doubt, ”Does he have that much self-control? Could there be something wrong with him?” Her tone shifted to worry.

”Look at you!” Janelle protested, ”Having self-control, you say he has a problem; lacking it, you call him a sleaze, not trustworthy.”

”...” Carlotta was at a loss for words.

Janelle directly pointed, ”Then what about you and Old Mills last night? How about your self-control? And your health?”

”You...” Carlotta blushed suddenly, embarrassed, ”How did you know?” clearly feeling guilty.
