Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Everyone used silence to give her an answer.

Mrs. Zhou thought for a moment, realizing that everyone’s lack of firm rejection might mean they were moved by compassion.

However, placing Ms. Usher’s child with the Kingston family is indeed... inappropriate, far too inappropriate.

Consequently, Mrs. Zhou had a selfish thought; she just didn’t know how to voice it at that moment.

”Mrs. Kingston, CEO Kingston, Mrs. Kingston... with your loving and generous hearts, surely you can accept this poor child.” The nurse said tearfully, ”Initially, we didn’t intend to intervene in this matter, but last night we witnessed her going through life and death...”

Justin Kingston finally lost his patience, ”I understand your difficulties as medical staff, but let me say this again, Monica Usher has no connection with our Kingston family previously, and will have no connection in the future, so this child has nothing to do with us either.”

At this moment, Mrs. Zhou, who had been hesitating all along, finally opened her mouth with courage, ”Mr. Kingston, do you think... is it possible for my sister to adopt this child?”

All eyes turned to Mrs. Zhou.

Mrs. Zhou felt anxious, as Monica Usher’s child, she was unsure of the possibility of success.

But she still wanted to do her part for her sister’s dilemma.

”What’s the situation with your sister?” Kristina Kingston didn’t directly refuse but asked calmly, ”Tell me about it.”

”Madam, my sister is forty this year. She’s been married for over ten years but has never had children. She’s been to many hospitals for examinations, spent considerable money, and tried seven times for IVF, all of which failed.”

Mrs. Zhou recalled those bitter years, sighing repeatedly, and said somewhat anxiously, ”They’ve thought about adopting a child, but those children are already seven or eight years old. She’s afraid she wouldn’t be able to bond, that the child would grow up distant, so she’s never gone through with adoption.”

And this infant is just right.

The two nurses seemed to see a glimmer of hope; as long as the Kingston family handed over the child, the matter would be settled.

Thus, one of them quickly said, ”Mrs. Kingston, Monica Usher doesn’t necessarily want to force your Kingston family to raise the child. She knows your family has no obligation towards her or the child.”

The other nurse spoke up to explain, ”Yes, yes, what she hopes for is that the Kingston family can play a part in the adoption process, to find a reliable family for the child, not necessarily wealthy, but to ensure the child grows up safely and healthily.”

”Then leave it to Mrs. Zhou.” Mia Lane spoke up, stepping forward to take the child from the nurse’s arms.

”Thank you, Mrs. Kingston, thank you thank you, tremendously grateful.”

”Mrs. Kingston, we thank you on behalf of Monica Usher.”

”You can leave now.” Mia Lane gingerly held the child, watching the two nurses quickly get into the car.

As if they were afraid the Kingston family might go back on their word.

Mia Lane held the child, turned to Mrs. Zhou, who was extremely grateful, ”I’ll I’ll I’ll call my sister right now.” Saying this, she quickly took out her phone.

After connecting, Mrs. Zhou shared the good news with her sister, her voice trembling with excitement.

”Really?!” On the other end of the phone, her sister was also moved to tears.

At this moment, Kristina Kingston and Justin Kingston, who had remained indifferent, surprisingly said nothing, realizing that a simple nod from them might bring new hope to a shattered family.

After hanging up, Mrs. Zhou was immensely thankful, ”Thank you, madam! Thank you, Mrs. Kingston! Thank you, Mr. Kingston! My sister says she’ll be here soon! Because of the child’s situation, she and her husband were already in a divorce cooling-off period; this child has come just in the nick of time.”

At the end of saying this, Mrs. Zhou’s eyes filled with tears, unable to hold them back anymore.

Mia Lane was also deeply moved; perhaps this child is different from her mother, being a little angel that saved a family the moment she was born.

Looking down at the sleeping baby in her arms, she felt a burst of affection, her lips curving into a satisfied smile.
