Dungeon Corpse Stacker: I Absorb Everything to Become Ominous Monarch

The structural foundations of the seventy story Hunter Association Headquarters groaned under violent mechanical strain as emergency containment bulkheads locked down across the upper floors. High voltage electrical sparks showered from shattered light fixtures, illuminating the blood stained marble steps where two hundred Executive Enforcers lay crushed, their high grade obsidian armors reduced to twisted scrap metal.

In the center of the ruined atrium, Renan stood over the central elevator shaft. His long black Monarch coat billowed as dark, super compressed Monarch mana flared around his body, heavy enough to warp the light around his feet.

Below him lay forty levels of underground military infrastructure the Class S Subterranean Bunker, built using four inch adamantine titanium plating, magnetic dampening fields, and independent nuclear grade power cells. It was designed to serve as humanity’s ultimate command post during an Extinction Level Gate Breakout.

Deep within the subterranean command room on Level 40, Vice President Marcus clutched the edge of the central tactical console, his knuckles white, sweat dripping continuously from his jaw onto the glowing glass screen.

”Status report on Floors 1 through 25!” Marcus screamed, his voice breaking into a panicked shriek that echoed off the reinforced steel walls. ”Where is Commander Vance?! Why have his communications gone dark?!”

The chief tactical officer looked up from his console, his face completely devoid of color, his hands trembling so violently he could barely hold his tablet. ”C Commander Vance... and the entire Executive Enforcer Battalion... their mana signals were completely extinguished in less than four minutes, Vice President. The upper atrium has been entirely breach cleared.”

The thirty surviving Association Directors in the room gasped, several falling back into their leather seats in sheer despair.

”Four minutes?!” a senior Director wept, clutching his chest. ”Two hundred S Rank and A Rank enhanced hunters... wiped out in four minutes?!”

From the high central dais, President James sat in his executive chair. His face was rigid, his eyes burning with a cold, venomous fury. He held a golden velvet lined wooden case on his lap, his fingers tracing the ancient, glowing runes carved into its lock.

”Seal all forty subterranean blast doors,” James commanded coldly, his deep voice cutting through the panic in the room. ”Activate the ’Cocytus 9’ automated defence grid and channel one hundred percent of the secondary nuclear core into the ceiling kinetic barriers. If he attempts to force his way down, crush him with ten thousand tons of structural pressure.”

”B But Mr. President!” the chief engineer stammered. ”If we overload the Cocytus grid, the thermal feedback will permanently seal us inside this bunker! We won’t be able to open the doors from the inside!”

James slowly opened the wooden case on his lap, revealing a jagged, obsidian and gold dagger that bled ancient, toxic crimson mana into the air.

”We don’t need an exit,” James whispered, his eyes glinting with unhinged madness. ”We only need him dead.”

Up in the main atrium, Renan felt the massive kinetic barrier activate beneath his boots. The floor plates hummed as hundreds of automated defense turrets and mana disruption coils embedded in the concrete ceiling charged up, aiming straight at his back.

Renan didn’t even look up at the turrets targeting him.

”Rebecca. Ignis,” Renan spoke softly, his layered, double toned voice echoing into the dark corners of the atrium. ”Secure the upper tower. Do not let a single officer or researcher escape into the city.”

”BY YOUR WILL, MY SOVEREIGN!”

Shadow General Ignis roared, its twenty foot frame launching upward toward the upper floors like a black comet, while Shadow Commander Rebecca vanished into the shadows with five thousand Shadow Knights to seal every secondary exit.

Renan gripped the hilt of his dark Monarch blade with both hands, pointing its obsidian tip directly down toward the adamantine floor plates of Level 1 Underground.

Golden Monarch runes flared violently along his arms and shoulders, pulsing with the absolute, unstoppable force of his 42,000 physical stat points. The air temperature around him plummeted to freezing as a dark, condensed sphere of void gravity stabilized around the blade.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

Renan plunged his dark blade straight down into the floor!

The kinetic impact detonated with the force of a tactical missile! The four inch adamantine titanium plating, the nuclear powered kinetic barrier, and twenty feet of reinforced concrete beneath the atrium floor were instantly obliterated into fine, microscopic dust!

CRACK CRUNCH RUMBLE!

A colossal vertical fissure tore downward through the center of the seventy story building! Floors 1 through 10 of the subterranean bunker collapsed inward, multi ton metal bulkheads snapping like dry toothpicks under the sheer, unyielding weight of Renan’s physical force!

As concrete and steel rained down into the dark abyss below, Renan stepped off the edge, falling gracefully through the dust filled vertical shaft like a dark deity descending into hell.

Floating right alongside him were Shadow General Alexander, Shadow Commander Godfrey, and Shadow Commander Katarina, their phantom armors glowing brightly in the dark shaft.

Below them on Level 20 Underground, three hundred automated ’Cocytus 9’ defense golems fifteen foot mechanical monstrosities equipped with heavy plasma miniguns and anti magic kinetic shields scrambled to intercept the falling Sovereign.

”Target acquired in vertical shaft!” the automated security AI droned over the loudspeakers. ”Unleash all kinetic fire!”

Thousands of high caliber plasma rounds illuminated the dark shaft, turning the air into a roaring furnace of white hot heat!

”Alexander,” Renan commanded calmly as he drifted down through the plasma storm. ”Clear the path.”

”BY YOUR WILL, MY SOVEREIGN!”

Shadow General Alexander dropped below Renan, his giant phantom warhammer expanding to twice its original size as it surged with dense, dark kinetic mana.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

Alexander slammed his warhammer downward in mid air, unleashing a massive, downward directional shockwave that smashed through all three hundred Cocytus golems in a single microsecond! The fifteen foot mechanical juggernauts were pulverized into mangled metal scraps, raining down onto the floor plates of Level 30!

Renan landed softly atop the ruined wreckage on Level 30 Underground, his dark coat settling smoothly around his boots. Before him stood the final, massive adamantine blast door guarding the entrance to Level 40 the central command chamber where President James and the Association Directors were huddled.

Renan slowly raised his glowing golden eyes, looking at the heavy metal gate.

”James,” Renan whispered, his layered voice vibrating through the thick steel doors like a death sentence. ”There are no more floors left to run to.”
