Hijacking the Timeline

As the Lord of the Mist piloted the warship away from the Heijue Domain Field, Feng Qi immediately sent a distress signal to the Old Days Supply Zone.

Once the communicator connected, he began reciting the carefully rehearsed explanation he had prepared.

By the time the warship docked, personnel from the battle group headquarters were already waiting on the shore.

After disembarking, they were escorted to an office in the recruitment hall, where they were questioned in detail about the mission’s events.

Upon hearing their account, the battle group headquarters staff immediately stated that the failure of the joint operation would be thoroughly investigated.

However, the staff clarified that this investigation was not due to any suspicion of their involvement, but rather out of respect for the fallen warriors.

By the time they left the recruitment hall, night had fallen.

After returning to their hotel for dinner, they retreated to their rooms to refine their plans for future momentum development.

During their discussion, the direction of their future development gradually became clearer.

Over the next few days, Feng Qi and the Lord of the Mist were repeatedly summoned to the recruitment hall’s offices to provide further clarifications on the mission’s circumstances.

This tedious process dragged on for half a month before finally concluding.

The new Joint Operations Battle Group had departed and discovered traces of the battle between the Humanoid Domain Faction and the Joint Operations Battle Group led by Wang Lin on Heijue Island, including corpses.

After photographing and documenting all the investigation findings, Feng Qi and the Lord of the Mist were no longer required to undergo further investigation.

The situation was now completely clear.

Free from these trivial matters, Feng Qi and the Lord of the Mist finally had time to focus on developing their own faction and strategic planning.

One month later.

The alarm clock jolted Feng Qi awake from his slumber.

At 6:30 AM, Feng Qi and the Lord of the Mist left their hotel and arrived at the plaza in the Old Days Supply Zone.

By then, at least ten domain combat teams had already gathered there.

Their attention was quickly drawn to a battle group approaching from the distance.

The members of this battle group wore exceptionally elite equipment, almost entirely crafted from high-grade spirit minerals produced in the Domain Field. Their gear was painted black, and each warrior wore a black iron mask.

Feng Qi recognized the woman leading the group, who also wore a black mask.

It was Wang Yi, the group leader of the Death Star Battle Group.

In this timeline, after careful consideration, the Lord of the Mist had once again chosen Wang Yi as his target.

Although Wang Yi had initiated this joint operation, they hadn’t been invited.

Yet they had already planned to seize Wang Yi’s body and a portion of her memories during the operation, including control of her subordinate Death Star Third Battle Group.

Sitting at a breakfast stall in a corner of the plaza, they ate their meal while occasionally glancing at Wang Yi, who was giving a speech.

They had learned from the mission briefing tablet that:

The operation was initiated by Wang Yi of the Death Star Third Battle Group, with thirteen battle groups participating, each ranked B-Class or higher.

The target was the Yellow Sand Domain Field, located in the southeastern sea region of the War Docks.

As for the specific mission details, they remained unknown since they weren’t part of the operation.

Half an hour later, Wang Yi issued her orders, and the battle group members boarded vehicles to depart for the War Docks.

Seeing this, Feng Qi and the Lord of the Mist immediately paid their bill and followed suit.

Several hours later, they arrived at the War Docks.

This port was already familiar to them.

During their mission to explore the Heijue Domain Field, they had used Pier 3 of the War Docks.

The area’s designation as ”War Docks” stemmed from its primary function.

The warriors arriving at this harbor, preparing to set sail, were about to step into the Domain Field and enter a state of war.

This place served as a battlefield staging area, from which they could embark on special operations—exploration, resource gathering, excavation, and warfare—in various Domain Fields across the sea.

The harbor functioned like a dungeon portal in a game.

As the starting point for all wars, it was known to the warriors as the ”War Harbor.”

The original name given during its construction had long been forgotten by history.

At the main pier, warships of various sizes were docked alongside massive battleships.

On one of these battleships fluttered a battle group flag.

The flag featured a gray-black background emblazoned with a burning pitch-black mask—the emblem of the Death Star Battle Group.

This battleship, forged by the Death Star Third Battle Group using vast resources from the Domain Field, possessed not only formidable defensive capabilities but also a host of mystical properties.

Under Wang Yi’s command, the warriors boarded the ships and battleships in succession. Together with other battle groups participating in the joint operation, they set course southeast.

After waiting at the main pier for about half an hour, Feng Qi turned to the Lord of the Mist.

”Let’s go into the water first. There are surveillance cameras nearby. We’ll act once we’re clear of this area.”

With that, he strode to the edge of the pier and dove into the water.

The Lord of the Mist followed suit, plunging into the water as well.

Enveloping himself in mental energy, Feng Qi began to swim through the water, the Lord of the Mist close behind.

Once they were beyond the pier’s surveillance range, the Lord of the Mist transformed into gray mist, carrying Feng Qi straight into the air.

The Lord of the Mist’s flight speed was astonishing. They quickly caught up with the Joint Task Force Fleet led by ”Wang Yi.”

To avoid detection, the Lord of the Mist ascended to a higher altitude.

Even if spotted now, they would only be mistaken for a low-pressure dark cloud.

After following the Joint Operations Battle Group for half a day, a brand-new Domain Field appeared on the horizon.

The barrier of this Domain Field was earthen yellow, making it impossible to see inside from the outside.

Feng Qi and the Lord of the Mist had researched this Domain Field thoroughly before their arrival.

It was called the Yellow Sand Domain Field.

The rules within differed significantly from those of the human world.

For example, there were no water-attribute spiritual energy particles inside, making it impossible to cast water-based art magic. The domain was also home to incredibly powerful sand elemental lifeforms.

These lifeforms had completely different physical structures from humans.

Unless their internal energy cores were destroyed, they could easily reconstitute themselves even after being shattered countless times.

Eighty-nine percent of the Yellow Sand Domain Field had already been explored, meaning its true dispersal was imminent.

Wang Yi’s initiation of this joint operation, a probing war, clearly signaled her preparation for the final battle to drive out the domain.

War meant chaos, making it the perfect time to seize Wang Yi’s body.

In fact, he and the Lord of the Mist had discussed ambushing Wang Yi.

They considered options like possessing her while she slept or launching a surprise body possession attack when she was alone.

However, after careful analysis, they concluded that such methods carried significant risks.

Wang Yi was, after all, a veteran warrior who had seen countless battles. The true extent of her strength remained unknown.

The process of body possession would inevitably create a significant disturbance.

If the commotion alerted the numerous domain warriors in the supply zone, the situation would become perilous.

The Lord of the Mist believed he was fully capable of possessing Wang Yi, but he had no confidence in withstanding an assault from the entire supply zone’s forces, nor even in escaping with his life.

Therefore, attempting body possession within the supply zone would be suicidal unless they possessed overwhelming power. Any possibility of resistance or struggle would carry immense risks.

This was the primary reason they had abandoned the idea of a surprise attack.

However, the situation would change once they entered the Domain Field. The treacherous environment would present numerous opportunities for body possession.

After several more hours of sailing, the sun began to dip toward the horizon.

Fiery crimson clouds painted the sky, their reflection shimmering across the rippling sea surface in a breathtaking spectacle.

As the Joint Task Force Fleet approached the Yellow Sand Domain Field, they slowed their advance and dropped anchor, bringing the warships and warships to a halt.

After leaving personnel to guard the warships and battleships, Wang Yi led the warriors into the water, passing through the earthen-yellow Domain Field barrier.

The Lord of the Mist followed without hesitation, also piercing through the barrier.
