Eternal Thief

Ace marveled silently as his eyes flickered with ecstasy when the mirrored persona was completed, and with a single thought, he could utilize it, turning into that mirrored persona.

’It’s simply amazing. Although it’s not as subtle as my mask, it’s still more convenient, and until I upgrade my mask all the way to Ascension Grade-9, I’ll continue to use it and cultivate to break in the higher levels of this technique.’

He felt how the mirror embryo grew faintly heavier as every soul trapped within was like adding a new shard to the embryonic mirror, expanding its depth and potential.

’When the embryo matures into a true Mirror Domain, these soul shards will be multiplied and the disguise will be even more perfect. No treasure or sense will see through them!’

A surge of quiet excitement coursed through him. For the first time, Ace truly felt the frightening potential of the Grand Mirror Phantom Scripture.

’The next step…’ Ace’s gaze sharpened. ’Nurture the embryo with my force, feeding it until it can grow into a Mirror Domain.’

He could almost picture it. An inner domain filled with countless silver mirrored personas, each holding a perfect living reflection—like a hall of disguise under his absolute control.

A faint smile curved Ace’s lip. But suddenly, his attention shifted when something in the lower seats suddenly exclaimed…

“What the hell is going on with this guy?! Where did he go, leaving behind his clothes here!?”

Now that the victim’s soul has been devoured by the mirror shard within the Mirror Embryo, the victim’s physical body turned into particles, and the clothes and anything he was wearing dropped right in the middle of the crowd.

When that alarmist exclaimed, the guests’ attention was drawn to the clothes, armor, and space treasures of the victim, and everyone became intrigued by this strange turn of events.

One of the guards of the Obsidian Myriad Hall quickly approached the scene and loudly said, “Everyone, please stay calm, and continue to leave. We’ll investigate it right now to prevent another accident. Please leave.”

Hearing his words, the other guests merely glanced at the clothes on the ground before they moved on. After all, this person was alone, and no one seemed to know him.

Although they were interested in knowing what happened, they couldn’t be bothered to waste more time on it since someone dying or living has nothing to do with them; everyone cares about themselves, it was the rule of the Abyss!

The VIPs in the room merely glanced at this short commotion momentarily before they turned indifferent, and with that, the minor incident came to an end.

Ace remained calm as he continued to observe the situation, and when he saw that everyone was minding their own business, he smiled in relief. He was aware of the nature of the Abyssal Beings, and that’s why he took the risk to create a mirrored persona right there and then.

After all, his main reason for coming to this auction was to capture a soul. His first target was the Young Marquis, but he then changed his mind since the Young Marquis’s disappearance would create too much chaos.

Furthermore, with the Ancient Abyssal Permit, he didn’t want to draw much attention and chose a relatively low-key target without even knowing his race or bloodline.

However, Ace’s luck wasn’t so bad, and from the memories of the victim, he found that the victim, Clyde, has an Abyssal Bloodline of the Abyssal Fiend Race.

But because of his clan’s fall and the enemy’s relentless pursuit, he left the Abyssal Fiend Race’s territory and became an Abyss Wanderer known as the ’Stinger’.

Although Clyde’s identity was somewhat troublesome and his enemies were still searching for him, Ace didn’t mind since those enemies were all restricted to the Abyssal Fiend Race’s territory.

Furthermore, Ace was going to the Evernight Sanctuary soon so that those enemies couldn’t touch him, nor was Ace planning on going to the Abyssal Fiend Race’s territory anytime soon.

So, Clyde’s identity was perfect for him; even if someone investigated his background, they would only find the tragic story of Clyde and probably take him as a revenger whom the Moonless Wandering King took in because of his talent.

If the Vaultkeeper weren’t beside him, Ace would’ve already turned into Clyde, but he wasn’t in a hurry, as he would have a chance soon enough.

Thereupon, a sudden knock could be heard on the VIP Room 1, followed by the respectful voice of the Hall Proprietor, who rang with a hint of apprehension, “My lord, I’m here to deliver your items!”

Ace’s eyes flickered with a hint of excitement before he impassively said, “Enter.”

The door opened, and the Hall Proprietor’s tall figure clad in lavish clothing quickly entered, and to Ace’s surprise, following behind the Hall Proprietor was none other than the enthralling Abyssal Succubus Demon, Lucy!

’What is she doing here?’ Ace was instantly vigilant as the Vaultkeeper had already warned him about the terrifying charm abilities of the Abyssal Succubus Demon Race.

Lucy also spotted Ace, who was sitting while the Vaultkeeper was standing behind him like a statue. She was astounded as she thought the Dread Duchess herself was inside this room, but it turned out it was someone else.

Furthermore, the moment Lucy laid eyes on Ace, despite his long hood covering his head, she instantly felt her bloodline churn as a vague feeling stirred in her heart. It was as if the person sitting there had a supreme authority over her bloodline, and she had an urge to submit to him, which caught her completely off guard.

’What is going on?! Could he also be an Abyssal Succubus Demon with higher bloodline density!? No, impossible, someone like him shouldn’t be allowed to move around freely, much less have contact with Dread Duchess!’ Lucy quickly calmed her heart, yet she was extremely confused.

On the other hand, Ace didn’t know that because he wasn’t wearing any disguise, his natural charm had dramatically affected the Abyssal Succubus Bloodline, and now she became afraid of him.

The Enchantress Demon Duchess didn’t notice it because she was far stronger than Ace.

Nonetheless, he still noticed that Lucy’s confident expression suddenly changed into an apprehensive one, which made him slightly confused, and he thought she was reacting like this because of the Vaultkeeper.

The Hall Proprietor was unaware of Lucy’s peculiar situation, and he only brought her here because she insisted on it.

Furthermore, because of Lucy’s natural charm and beauty, he agreed with her since she might make this mysterious person close to the Dread Duchess have goodwill towards his Obsidian Spirit Hall!
