Eternal Thief

After Ace’s explanation, Zaria didn’t say anything and looked at him coldly to continue. Ace didn’t hesitate and directly cut his figure with his spirit Qi, and a drop of dark blood fell on the token.

But nothing happened as the blood was instantly absorbed while Zaria was thoroughly watching everything, and a hint of astonishment surfaced in her eye when she saw Ace’s blood.

Although she had beaten him bloody, she wasn’t paying attention at that time because of her rage; now that she was calm and because of the strangeness of this token, she finally realized that Ac was full of secrets and he even had a mysterious bloodline.

“So, you’re from the human race’s king sect?” She asked with narrowed eyes.

Ace neither admitted nor denied it and ambiguously replied, “Is there a problem? You can still back down.”

A hint of anger flashed past her eyes as she retorted, “You’re still not going to get away!”

The next moment, she cut her finger and let her blood drip on the token as well while she secretly prepared to take action if something untoward happened. But the token was still the same, and she felt nothing.

In fact, she now started to believe that Ace was just bluffing and that this was just his final try to spook her, and she became even more confident.

“Now we need to envelop it with our Qi, right? This time, I’ll be first, and if this is some contract, then let me tell you something: I have a way to break it before it could even be established, so I’ll give you a chance to back down because it’ll only make me angrier!” She threatened.

A hint of astonishment flashed past Ace’s eyes, but he still trusted the system completely, so he didn’t show any fear and nodded for her to continue. In fact, he couldn’t be happier since the moment she willingly activated this token, she’d be right where Ace wanted her to be.

He had already warned her, but since she was so stubborn and arrogant, he had no qualms anymore.

Zaria sneered disdainfully before spirit Qi gushed out of her hand and directly enveloped the Thief House Recruitment Token while she was still on guard.

However, the moment she took this final step, the dormant token finally reacted, and the very next moment, it turned into a streak of black light and bolted toward Zaria’s forehead.

Zaria was fully alert, and with her cultivation base, she quickly reacted. Still, she had again underestimated what she was dealing with, and despite her quick dodge and even activating a hidden treasure, the black streak seemed to have a mind of its own and quickly bolted in her direction.

“Humph!” Zaria scoffed, still confident in getting rid of whatever it was, and a talisman suddenly appeared around her neck and lit up immediately. Just when the black streak was about to touch the barrier, she turned ethereal and vanished!

Ace, who was impassively observing this scene, was astounded since it was his first time seeing someone putting a fight against the thief house recruitment token, and a hint of panic surfaced in his eyes.

But it didn’t last long since the black streak seemed to have provoked, and it flashed before it directly pierced into the space where Zaria had vanished, and it was gone. Ace pulled a victorious smile at this moment, “You can’t run away; it’s over!” However, when over a minute passed, and he still didn’t hear any notification, disbelief was written over Ace’s face. He gulped dryly and even started to consider fleeing before that madwoman returned.

But he knows the only option is to teleport back to his clone since he won’t be able to outrun Zaria. However, he still believed in the system and waited.

As more time passed, Ace was shocked, Just how powerful is she? It’s been more than three minutes!”

However, when Ace was losing his calm, the system’s interface appeared, and a notification finally rang!

=====

[Thief House Recruitment Token has been used!]

Ace’s heart raced widely as he burst into laughter the next moment when he confirmed the token had done its job and he had won this gamble!

However, just as Ace was celebrating, he received another prompt.

[Malicious and Murderous intention detected from a Thief House Member toward House Leader.]

[Punishment: Death]

=====

“Tsk, tsk… “Ace clicked his tongue in annoyance, seeing this notification, and he could imagine Zaria going on a rampage. Still, once she discovered how helpless she was against the system’s torment, she would realize the gravity of her situation.

“Ahem, system, tone it down a notch, leave her half dead or something. Don’t kill her; she’s very powerful, and I don’t want to lose such a ‘precious’ House member.” Ace quickly instructed the system.

“[Affirmative!]”

Ace was very pleased with the system’s flexibility, and he sat before sighing in relief since this was all over, and now he could be at peace. So, while Zaria was on her way, he checked what kind of thief genres she had as he looked at them curiously.

Ace titled his head when he saw the two new thief genres, while the Thief Enchantress had appeared before in Eva’s thief genres before. He especially paid attention to the second genre, but its results were quite ambiguous.

But suddenly, he remembered Malservus’s words about Leah’s origin when he first saw her and couldn’t help but wonder, ‘Could it be this Lucky Thief have the same effect that Malservus told me? Being around this thief will make every member of the thief’s house lucky. Although I still don’t know the concept of luck, it’s one of the most mysterious forces around us. Should I go with it?”

Ace thought as his eyes flashed with determination; because of Zaria’s behavior, he wasn’t going to give her the privilege to choose her thief genre, and he knew even if he

gave her this chance, that woman would rather fight him to death after what he did to

her then think straight.

Furthermore, she still wasn’t here, so he could tell that she was still going through system ‘treatment!’
