I Was Summoned as the Weakest Hero, But I Awakened a Military System

On the high-definition Ground Control Station display, the Puma AE reached its cruising altitude of four thousand feet. The Mantis i45 electro-optical sensor completed its 360-degree topographical sweep, pulling the live feed back into an expansive, stitched satellite-style overview of the entire landmass.

John leaned over the ruggedized screen, his eyes scanning the telemetry data with sharp tactical interest.

”Well, I’ll be damned,” John muttered, zooming the optics out to take in the full geographic boundary. ”We’re completely surrounded by ocean.”

The system HUD calculated the land area, running an instant terrain analysis across the digitized wireframe map.

[Topographical Scan Complete]

[Geographic Classification: Isolated Oceanic Island]

[Total Land Area: ~550–600 Square Kilometers (~210–230 Square Miles)]

[Terrain Composition: Dense Ancient Forest (Central/Northern Plateau), Mountainous Ridge (Southern Sector), Natural Deep-Water Harbors & Coastal Coral Barrier Reefs]

[Civilization Density: Zero Detected Signatures / Uninhabited Wilderness]

”Roughly six hundred square kilometers,” John noted, a slow, predatory grin forming behind his tactical mask. ”It’s almost identical in size and shape to Guam.”

For establishing an impenetrable forward military stronghold, it was geographically flawless.

Being an isolated island meant natural ocean barriers protecting every flank against surprise overland advances. The northern plateau was flat, solid terrain ideal for clearing airstrips, helipads, and motor pools. The southern half featured jagged volcanic ridgelines perfect for hardened early-warning radar arrays and surface-to-air missile batteries. To the west lay a massive, naturally sheltered deep-water bay with direct ocean access—an exceptional natural harbor for staging heavy naval craft, patrol boats, and amphibious assault ships.

Most importantly, the infrared sweep showed no signs of rival kingdoms, castles, or human settlements. The island was completely untouched, an untamed frontier waiting to be turned into a sovereign, heavily fortified military zone.

”An entire island as a personal proving ground,” John chuckled softly, tapping the controller’s touch screen to mark prime tactical sectors for runway construction, supply depots, and coastal defensive perimeters. ”They threw me in a dungeon to die, and I walked out holding the deed to an unsinkable aircraft carrier.”

He glanced back at the sleeping high-elf girl resting peacefully, then looked up at the vast blue ocean framing the horizon.

”Time to build a real base,” John declared, his fingers already navigating to the system’s infrastructure and personnel deployment menus. ”Let’s turn this island into an American fortress.”

Just as John was reviewing his balance and weighing individual engineering blueprints, heavy machinery catalogs, and supply requisitions, the Military System chimed with an unusually deep, echoing fanfare.

A towering, golden-and-crimson notification banner bypassed his manual inputs and flared brightly across his field of vision.

John stared at the glowing breakdown, a cold, euphoric smile spreading beneath his tactical mask.

”Three million bonus points for claiming the island...” John whispered, feeling a surge of satisfaction. ”Now three point four million makes total sense for a build of this scale.”

There was zero reason to hold back, this is his power. If he was to go against an enemy with magic and cheat codes, this is necessary.

”System,” John commanded firmly. ”Authorize Project Fortress Freedom. Execute template deployment immediately!”
