I Was Summoned as the Weakest Hero, But I Awakened a Military System

John moved through the sprawling mountain monastery like a ghost of lead and gunpowder.

Over the next two hours, the quiet, snow-drenched corridors, courtyard gardens, and bell towers of the Silent Sanctuary became a continuous, high-intensity kill zone. wave after wave of Ashen Monks, armored Grandmasters, and spectral Martial Guardians attempted to overrun him using speed, spatial maneuvers, and translucent ki barriers.

John met every silent charge with cold, methodical military efficiency.

When groups pooled in tight courtyard choke points, he dropped them with controlled bursts from his SCAR-H or swept them with drum-fed Frag-12 rounds. When high-level Grandmasters tried to use hyper-velocity gap-closers, John’s maxed-out Combat Perception allowed him to step inside their martial strikes, breaking joint guards with brutal CQC counters before dumping contact-distance .45 ACP rounds into their unarmored vitals.

By the time he reached the highest tier of the monastery, over a hundred monks lay dissolved into piles of black ash and shattered porcelain masks along the snow-covered stone steps.

As the final Martial Guardian crumbled into ash before him, the glowing system notifications cascaded across his HUD.

John paused at the top of the snow-slicked stairs, popping his SCAR-H magazine, checking his load, and slapping a fresh 20-round box of 7.62x51mm AP into the magwell.

CLACK-CLICK.

He brought up his system status screen to review his total progress.

”Two hundred thousand points,” John muttered behind his tactical mask, his breathing steady despite the sub-zero mountain wind. ”Level forty-nine. Just one more push to hit fifty.”

He closed the interface and looked ahead.

At the end of the high mountain ridge sat a towering, thirty-foot double stone gate, etched with deep draconic runes that hummed with ancient, kinetic pressure. As John stepped within ten yards of the threshold, the heavy stone doors groaned, grinding open on massive iron hinges to reveal a colossal, open-air circular arena surrounded by frozen peaks and sheer cliffs.

John stepped into the arena, his tactical boots crunching against the hard ice.

Standing in the dead center of the circular arena, illuminated by the pale red moon above, was a towering fifteen-foot nightmare. It was a massive, muscular Minotaur covered in matted, snow-dusted fur and thick, obsidian-like plate armor. In its massive, clawed hands, it held a twelve-foot, double-headed battleaxe crafted from solid black iron, its edges dripping with fresh, smoking blood.

Behind the beast, sitting at the far end of the arena, was a massive, glowing stone archway—the floor’s exit gate, radiating golden energy that cut through the swirling blizzard.

[System Notification: Floor 6 Boss Encountered!]

[Target Identification: Minotaur Dreadnought - Asterion (Level 55 - Class-A Floor Boss)]

The Minotaur lowered its massive horned snout, snorting twin plumes of hot steam into the freezing mountain air as its glowing crimson eyes locked directly onto John.

John rolled his shoulders, unslung his SCAR-H, and checked the red dot sight on his EOTECH display. A cold, ruthless smirk spread across his face beneath his mask.

”A Minotaur huh?”

GROOOOOAAAR!

The Minotaur Dreadnought didn’t give John a second to plan. With a roar that shook loose an avalanche from the surrounding peaks, Asterion surged forward. The sheer velocity of the fifteen-foot titan tore through the howling blizzard, his obsidian-plated boots shattering the frozen stone beneath him.

John’s maxed-out Combat Perception immediately flared, slowing time down, but even in near slow-motion, Asterion’s speed was terrifying.

WHAM!

The twelve-foot double-headed battleaxe carved through the air in a brutal downward cleave. John threw himself laterally, executing a desperate roll across the hard ice.

BOOM!

The axe slammed into the exact spot where John had been standing a fraction of a second prior. The kinetic shockwave exploded outward, sending jagged chunks of frozen stone and ice flying like shrapnel. A heavy jagged slab struck John squarely in his chest plate mid-roll, dumping his breath in a sharp gasp and sending him sliding ten feet across the slippery arena floor.

[Kinetic Impact Absorbed — Minor Tissue Bruising Detected]

”Fuck... hit like a freight train!” John gritted out through his teeth, his maxed-out Physical Conditioning fighting off the daze as he scrambled back to his boots.

He raised his FN SCAR-H, centered the red dot on Asterion’s exposed snout, and emptied a full 20-round magazine of 7.62x51mm AP on full-auto.

RAT-TAT-TAT-TAT-TAT-TAT-TAT!

Sparks rained off the beast’s thick, matted fur and obsidian skull plate. The tungsten penetrators drew dark blood, but the Level 55 boss didn’t even flinch. The pain only stoked its frenzy.

Asterion pivoted instantly, sweeping the flat side of his massive iron axe in a brutal horizontal backhand.

John brought the SCAR-H up defensively while ducking back, but the sheer wind-pressure and glancing blow caught the rifle’s barrel. The weapon was violently ripped from his hands, clattering across the ice twenty yards away.

Before John could recover his balance, Asterion raised a massive, iron-shod boot and delivered a thunderous front kick.

BANG!

The kick caught John right in his plate carrier. The sheer kinetic force bypassed his momentum—he flew backward forty feet through the air like a ragdoll, crashing hard into the stone wall of the arena before dropping onto his hands and knees in the snow.

A metallic taste filled his mouth. Blood dripped from his tactical mask onto the snow.

[Warning: Level IV Plate Cracked!]

”Level fifty-five armor... too dense... close range is a death trap...” John panted, his chest burning as he wiped the blood from his mask.

Asterion let out a mocking, steam-venting snort, lifting the massive battleaxe with one hand as he casually marched toward the cornered human. The beast knew he had the advantage. John was disarmed, pinned against the outer cliff wall, and his primary rifle was out of reach.

John looked at the approaching titan, his eyes narrowing to cold, lethal slits behind his white-phosphor night-vision goggles. His heart hammered, not in fear, but in pure tactical calculation.

”You think you’ve got me cornered, you oversized cow?” John growled, his hand hovering over his system interface. ”You’re just standing in a fatal funnel.”

He didn’t reach for his sidearm. He went straight for heavy infantry containment.

”System! Deploy two Browning M2HB .50 Caliber Heavy Machine Guns on sandbag emplacements—RIGHT NOW!”

FLASH! FLASH!

Two reinforced sandbag positions materialized directly in front of John, blocking Asterion’s path, each equipped with a pintle-mounted M2HB .50-caliber heavy machine gun loaded with 200-round belts of Raufoss Mk 211 High-Explosive Armor-Piercing Incendiary ammunition.

Asterion paused for a split second, confused by the sudden metal barricade.

That split second was all John needed. He lunged over the sandbags, seized the twin spades of the left M2HB, racked the heavy bolt back with a metallic CLACK-CLACK, and jammed his thumb flat on the butterfly trigger.

CHUNK-CHUNK-CHUNK-CHUNK-CHUNK-CHUNK-CHUNK!

The heavy .50-caliber beast roared, its rhythmic, bone-rattling thunder echoing off the mountain peaks as it unloaded thermite-filled, explosive rounds directly into Asterion’s chest at point-blank range!
