The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse

Klaus didn’t have an estimation for how many monstrosities were hidden in the dark depths of the Earth.

He was aware of places like Tier 9 forbidden zones and Badlands, where monsters could rival the strongest humans on Earth.

However, hidden in places like the Vampire City was a powerful zombie queen who, had the heavens not been cruel to her, would have become a vampire—someone truly worthy of her name.

Even now, she was a fearsome warrior, one who would make any army tremble.

Now that Klaus had seen who she was and what she represented, he knew he had to work faster and be meticulous. If possible, he must ensure every single soul is under the same banner before the awakening arrives.

He and the senior had already come to some conclusions, and one of the things they agreed on was that the awakening happens when the strength of the world reaches a particular stage.

Initially, the strongest beings everyone knew were Ascendents (Tier 10). Then, the Void stage beings arrived, and the Ascendents became weak all of a sudden.

Not that it wasn’t expected. The fact that there were higher stages out there only meant that stronger beings would eventually emerge.

Now, Earth had over 30 Void stage experts, and just when that seemed classic and reassuring, a Chaos stage expert appeared, dwarfing everyone.

Of course, that doesn’t mean the Void stage is irrelevant now.

…on the contrary, the Void stage warriors were the most needed at the moment. Humans were not like beasts and monsters. Though small, humans were much more resilient, and they could face harrowing odds fearlessly.

This meant that while the Chaos stage was an important milestone, someone like Queenie, who was a Level 7 Void stage expert, could face even a Level 5 Chaos stage and survive for a while.

Of course, warriors under Klaus’s command were no ordinary warriors. They had the blood of a paragon flowing through their veins. So, while they might not feel it, some aspects of the laws didn’t apply to them.

This meant every single Void stage warrior in Klaus’s team was now capable of reaping the lives of countless Void stage monsters and beasts.

Klaus knew it wasn’t plausible for a Void stage expert to kill a Chaos stage expert easily, but he trusted himself enough to believe he could do it.

Now, his only worry was what awaited him in the shadows, hidden deep in the depths of harrowing darkness.

First came Ascendent, then Void, and now Chaos. As for the Ascension and Nether stages, he knew it wasn’t plausible for Earth to have one anytime soon.

However, the fact that monstrosities like the Zombie Queen were hidden on Earth was a little concerning.

‘My work is never finished,’ Klaus sighed, resting his head between Queenie’s substantial breasts. Her hand traced a strand of his white hair while Klaus carved a sculpture of the Zombie Queen.

“So that’s how an innate domain feels like,” Queenie said, feeling the subtle presence of mental pressure bearing down on her.

Klaus clicked his tongue. “Indeed, my love. However, it’s still in the early stages. Of course, when she becomes my subordinate, my blood will help her raise it to the next level.”

Queenie nodded, not doubting that Klaus’ blood would be able to do what he said. After all, what hadn’t Klaus done before?

She saw what Klaus could do, and while she would love to say he had limits, she knew Klaus was someone who seemed to have the solution for everything.

Naturally, Klaus did, and even before he met the Zombie Queen and knew she had an innate domain, Klaus had already made up his mind to introduce the next phase of his training plan to his team.

It was just that he first wanted to ensure everyone who had taken his blood got used to their strength. Fighting the Savage zombies and perhaps a few more after this would give him exactly what he wanted.

It isn’t always about having higher cultivation stages and fancy skills. The main thing is to have the means to wield them, even against the strongest of foes.

That is the only way they can become unstoppable, like the way he wanted.

Queenie looked at the sculpture for a few seconds before asking a question. “How do I awaken my innate domain? I have a feeling the only thing stopping me from overpowering her is her innate domain. So, awakening my own can counter that… right?

If yes, then how can I awaken mine?”

Naturally, Queenie, who is an Asura, was meant to be a warrior.

It was in her nature, and as a warrior, she knew she always had to be ready. The sensation she felt while under the suppression of the Zombie Queen’s innate domain made her aware of the limitations she had.

So, she wanted to eliminate those limitations before the next major threats arose.

Klaus studied the carved piece of the Zombie Queen and then smiled.

“You already have the means to counteract her innate domain. Of course, it is weaker than hers, but your aura—the one that has accumulated and allows you to exert your presence on the battlefield—that aura can help you fight her to some degree.

However, to awaken your own innate domain, there are various ways. You have already formed a soul seed, so that means you have started the awakening.

Also, you are nearing the Chaos stage, so there is that. However, I have one more path you must all follow, which will be introduced later.

For now, let’s handle the business here and then attend to the others later. After that, I will handle the rest of your training.”

Queenie nodded with a smile.

Klaus spent a couple of minutes in Queenie’s welcoming embrace before deciding to handle something more critical.

He and Queenie entered the Multi-dimensional Cube, where the 47 who surrendered during the undertaking on the Moon were.

Five were Void stage beings.

Two of these five were at the peak, and three were above Level 5.

The 42 left were all Ascendant. This meant that after their awakening, all 42 would become Void stage beings, and the five were likely to become Chaos stage beings.

The odds were slim on that, but Klaus was hopeful… after all, his Great Sage blood had taken Sovereigns to the Ascendant stage. Now that he had become a Transcendent, who knew how powerful his Star Monarch bloodline had become…

He had yet to review his gains after the tribulation, so there was that…but he is hopeful.
