The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse

A day after Danny and Mark woke up, Klaus and his team left the forbidden zone. They headed straight toward Monster Land, where they would meet up with the others.

On the way, he decided to come clean to them about the evolution he had in mind. Since he would be using his blood, he wanted them to know the pros and cons.

He might be a brat, but he wouldn’t become a tyrant who hides such important information from his friends, even if the end game is for their own good.

He wanted a clean conscience in all he did. That was why, if he made up his mind to kill you, no matter how long it took, he would do it.

“Okay, listen up. I have something important to say,” Klaus said, making his friends, chatting among themselves, turning and looking at him.

They were currently flying in one of the military fighter jets.

“I planned on awakening your bloodlines in Monster Land. However, the method I had in mind has changed due to recent developments.

Initially, I wanted to use a forbidden ritual that would have unlocked your sealed bloodlines ahead of their scheduled awakening.

However, things are different now. This time, the method I will use will unlock your bloodlines, tweak them, and make many improvements.

But there is a catch. In fact, there are a couple of catches.” He paused and looked at their expressions.

“Let me talk about the pros first.” He smiled.

“Aside from your normal class getting a big upgrade and some powerful ability entering your arsenal upon awakening your bloodline, you will also gain another class that is either similar to or completely different from the one you currently have.

Now, before you say that it will require more training to master, know that it’s the complete opposite.

Instead of seeing it as extra work, see it as your biggest cheat. This is a class that depends entirely on how powerful your bloodline becomes.

It also has a timer, which means it can’t be used for an extended period of time.

But like I said, it’s a cheat because you don’t need to master anything. The moment you take that form, your mastery will reach its peak.

That means someone like Nadia, who is a puppeteer, could wield a sword as if she had been training for years.

And that’s not even the best part. As her bloodline grows, so does the strength of that form.”

The faces of everyone except Nari turned solemn. It was like hearing the most unbelievable thing in the universe.

They knew how time-consuming it is to master a skill, technique, spell, or even a weapon. So hearing an entire class can be mastered and used like a profession when activated sounded strange.

“You saw Kathy’s battle form. That is an example of what I’m talking about. Of course, she had been using a spear before her awakening, but she wasn’t a spearman per se.

Now that she has mastered the art of using the spear on the stage, a true spearman will give her a salute. That is the type of power this method will give you.

Of course, if you’re not convinced, then Nari, show them.”

Nari was already on her feet, and at Klaus’s command, she transformed into her spearman class, donning golden armor as a golden spear appeared in her hand.

“This form allows me to wield the spear and use it like a real spearman despite being an archer. And oh, I can use it for two hours a day, just like Kathy.

However, the best part is that even if I am exhausted in my archer form, I will feel like a new person when I switch to this form.

All wounds will be healed in this form, and I will return to my real form only after the two hours run out.” She giggled as she looked at her sisters, who were giving her pointed looks.

She had hidden this from them simply because of moments like this, so they would clearly be giving her a beating when they were alone.

“All she said is true, and you all saw that. Of course, there’s also a part that can be used to enhance your skills, weapons, spells, and much more.

There’s still more to uncover later,” Klaus added.

“This is great, then. In fact, this is awesome…” Anna said, and Klaus nodded.

“But there are some catches, like I said.” They all focused their attention on him and started to listen.

“First, the moment I use this method, not only will the heavens frown upon you and make life harder for you in the future, but your tribulations will also become much more difficult from the next time you face them.

Initially, it was 10% destructive and 90% restoration will, but after that, you’ll be looking at between 25% and 30% destructive will. It may sound small, but even a single percentage makes a huge difference, so there’s that.

Second, your fate will be controlled by me. This means I will have supreme control over you. I will be something akin to a god.

I can command you to kill yourself, and you wouldn’t be able to resist that command. I could even kill you with a mere thought. Basically, I will own your body, mind, and soul.

So while the rewards are enticing, the price is also huge.

So I ask, do you guys want to use this method or the first method? Either way, you will become powerful warriors after awakening your bloodlines.” He asked, prepared to hear their rejections. However, the answer he received was rather emotional.

“Are you kidding me? This isn’t even a question you should ask.” Strangely, it was Amelia who spoke.

“The main reason you are doing all this is for us to become Earth’s defenders, so why ask such a question if we can all become this powerful using the second method.

“Damn the price. I know you wouldn’t abuse your power. You didn’t send us packing after we came against you and your friends, and you didn’t isolate us even after we joined your team.

So why care about the price now? You could have done a whole lot of bad things to us after how we behaved when you arrived in the academy, but you didn’t.

This means you have integrity, so I won’t hesitate to pay that price. If you want an answer from us, then our answer is that we trust you and wouldn’t hesitate to give our lives to you.”

The rest nodded without any hesitation.

Every last one of them. They all want to use the second method, which involves consuming Klaus’ blood. This, strangely, made Klaus emotional, though he hid it from all of them.

The trust they have in him was just too deep.

“You guys are the best,” he smiled. “I’ll tone down the training for the first week as a reward for showing how much you trust me.”

“Just a week?” Lily stared at him with a narrow expression.

“Fine, two weeks.”

Everyone laughed, making the Paragon very happy. Naturally, the heavens frowned at this display, but they couldn’t do a thing.
