I Became the Villainess, But My Beast Husbands Can Hear My Mind?!

Luan had actually been ready to get angry, since he was suddenly asked to do something he didn’t want to do. But the moment he heard Cyrus praise him, his irritation faded, and he even looked a little proud.

”Yeah,” he said, trying to sound casual. ”I guess I am an expert at that.”

Oh.

Roxanna hadn’t realized before just how good Cyrus was at getting people to do things simply by praising them.

It sounded like a genuine compliment, but Roxanna had seen this many times in her old world. Her former boss used to do the exact same thing whenever he wanted an employee to do something difficult, or something outside their job description.

He would always say, ”I’m giving you this responsibility because you’re the best person for it.”

And just like that, the grumpy employee would instantly turn into a happy one, even working on the task with full effort.

[Maybe I should learn what makes each of my husbands feel happy,] Roxanna thought softly. [If I can understand them better... maybe they’ll get along better too.]

It might have seemed manipulative, even Luan glared at Cyrus for a moment when he realized what had happened. But since it was harmless and because he wanted Roxanna to see him as a reliable husband and father, he didn’t complain.

Besides, Roxanna would never use that kind of tactic to make them suddenly jump off a cliff or do something bad.

On the other hand, Azul looked a bit worried.

”Maybe... I can help gather the poison plants too,” he said quietly.

”You should stay here,” Zeir replied gently. ”Luan and Cyrus can escape easily in their beast forms if something dangerous happens.”

In other words, Zeir had politely said that Azul’s beast form was completely useless on land. It sounded harsh, but it was simply the truth.

Azul’s beast form really was useless on land, and there was nothing he could do about it. Even in the water, he couldn’t do much, since he was just a tiny betta fish.

Sometimes, he couldn’t help but wonder why he had to be that useless. And even though Calen had already apologized for his insult earlier, Azul slowly began to question whether he could truly become a useful husband and father in the future.

Just as he was starting to think more negative thoughts, Roxanna suddenly held his hands. ”Maybe Azul can help Zeir finish cleaning the mammoth blanket,” she said warmly. ”That way, you’ll be able to sleep comfortably tonight.”

Her voice was soft and gentle, like a warm blanket wrapping around his heart. The worry that had been weighing on Azul slowly faded, and the dark thoughts inside his mind disappeared one by one.

[Azul must feel like he needs to do things better since he’s the father of my child,] Roxanna guessed. [Back then, I’m the same as him. Whenever a project starts from my idea, I always feel like I should contribute more than anyone else.]

[But... honestly... there’s nothing wrong with leaning on others, especially the people we trust.]

Back then, Roxanna simply lacked people she could rely on. That was why she preferred to do everything on her own.

But now, her husbands were truly helpful and dependable, so she no longer felt like she had to handle everything by herself.

[I just hope Azul never thinks he isn’t good enough for us.]

After hearing Roxanna’s thoughts, Calen finally felt guilty for being too harsh to Azul earlier.

”Yeah! Why do you even want to go to the forest?” he said. ”We can just make a proper bed here so our wife can sleep under a warm blanket tonight instead!”

Azul let out a small sigh. He knew that Calen only wanted to make up for his earlier mistake. ”Alright, alright. I won’t go.”

Calen then began explaining the poison plants to Luan and Cyrus, even drawing their shapes on the ground. Meanwhile, Azul and Zeir went back to working on the mammoth fur blanket.

Honestly, Roxanna wanted to try her new bed—and she had also promised Luan that he could stay in her bedroom tonight—but it seemed like all of her husbands needed comfort today. So it would probably be better if they all slept together.

[System, we won’t be able to expand the hut in one night, so do you have a floor mattress? Something that can be rolled up when not in use?]

Even though they already had plenty of mammoth fur, a folding mattress still sounded much more comfortable.

So maybe they could just use the mammoth fur as blankets and pillows instead.

[Yes, Host. Do you want to check it out?]

Roxanna walked into her bedroom so she could scroll through the system panel more comfortably.

]Yes. Let me see it.]

The moment she stepped inside, the system’s panel appeared, displaying a list of floor mattresses with different prices depending on the size.

Before scrolling further, she checked her remaining SP.

[Remaining Spirit Points (SP): 27,400]

That number was actually quite good, but the floor mattresses were expensive. One queen-size floor mattress cost 3,200 SP.

[It might be expensive, but look at the advantages, Host!]

Roxanna read through the notes silently.

[100% prevents back pain. Cooling effect. Anti–insomnia.]

Damn it. Why didn’t beds like this exist in her old world?!

[So, do you want to purchase it, Host?] the system asked.

Roxanna said, [Yes! I want to buy three queen-size floor mattresses.]

One queen-size mattress measured 160 cm × 200 cm, so if she bought three, the total width would become 480 cm. That should be more than enough for five people.

[Ding! Ding!]

[Purchased: x3 Queen Floor Mattresses (9,600 SP)]

[Remaining Spirit Points (SP): 17,800]

[The mattresses will be stored in your inventory. You can take them out anytime you want, Host!]

Roxanna closed the panel and let out a small breath of relief.

Good.

Finally, she would definitely be able to sleep soundly tonight!

But the problem was... how could she make sure they wouldn’t fight over the spot beside her again tonight?
