National Awakening: My Left Eye Copies My Right Eye and Sublimates

28: Career choice, perfect resonance!Possessing the noble Elemental Power Talent, Thunder Control, Xia Qi felt he didn’t need to choose a melee profession. Hacking at monsters with a blade, one by one, was too tiring.

It was better to choose a ranged profession like a Mage; he could easily kill enemies with just a thought.

”Are you sure you want to choose a Mage?”

Among the many professions, the woman who had been chosen asked, somewhat surprised.

”What’s wrong? Is there a problem?”

Mage isn’t a very normal profession, so why did this woman show such a surprised expression?

”Young man, it’s like this: except for Elemental Awakeners, most people don’t choose Mage for their profession change...”

After the Mage profession changer’s explanation, Xia Qi finally understood the reason.

Elemental Awakeners are already rare in this world, so there are naturally fewer people who choose to become Mages than those who choose other professions.

Generally speaking, even Elemental Awakeners don’t necessarily choose the Mage profession for development.

Mages can indeed enhance the power of some Elemental abilities, but compared to that slight increase in power, more people care about survivability and practicality.

For example, professions like Warriors and Knights who can both tank and deal damage.

Or professions like Assassins and Hunters who can run and hide.

In short, only by being alive can there be a future. Compared to Mages, who are fragile and move slowly, professions with better survival attributes are the preferred choice.

If it were just that, it wouldn’t deter most people.

The most crucial point is that Mages are very expensive.

Some Spell skills that can destroy the world at every turn are basically Advanced skills; Elementary skills are very weak, but likewise, powerful ones come with extremely high learning costs.

A Mage skill book of the same Rank is twice as expensive as those for other professions.

This is just for skills; for the Mage profession to engage in high-intensity combat, energy is very important.

Except for the rare recovery-type Talents, a typical Awakener might face the dilemma of fighting monsters for half an hour and recovering for a whole morning.

Recovery items are also not cheap. For Awakeners with low Talent and no background, the Mage profession is basically a dead end.

Of course, it’s not that there are no strong individuals in the Mage profession. For example, Yun Qingyue’s father is a famous Archmage in Jiangcheng.

But such people are truly too few; not only do they require high Talent, but they also demand extremely high financial resources.

No wonder, when Xia Qi went to the dungeon yesterday, besides one Mage in the Black-Eat-Black team, he rarely saw Mage professions.

”Why don’t you consider it again?”

The Mage profession changer certainly hoped Xia Qi would choose the Mage profession, but considering the financial prospects, she still tried to persuade him.

”No need to consider, I’ll choose Mage.”

Xia Qi was indeed very short on money, but he wasn’t worried about running out of mana.

The B-Rank Talent, I Have a Cup of Energy Water, copied from Sister Shuido, don’t look at it being only B-Rank, but its auxiliary ability is very strong.

So, for recovery items, he didn’t need to spend money to buy them at all.

As for learning skills and such, Xia Qi wasn’t too worried either. With Lucky on him, he might even be able to comprehend skills himself.

Xia Qi couldn’t even imagine how much energy the combination of Lucky and Accelerated Learning would unleash.

Therefore, he must choose Mage! How cool is a Mage!

”Good, follow me.”

Someone was willing to change professions; the profession changer was overjoyed and wouldn’t refuse.

She led Xia Qi to a quiet small room. Besides simple furniture, there was also a huge, half-human-tall crystal ball in the room.

”I’ve noticed you all really like leading people to small rooms.”

Xia Qi followed behind the profession changer, saying with a playful tone.

Looking at the profession changer’s long, slender legs, paired with black stockings, reminded him of Lina from the black market yesterday.

Although the former wasn’t as beautiful as Lina, her figure was also very good.

”This is to maintain quietness. Don’t worry, the soundproofing here is very good.”

The Mage profession changer said, blushing. Although accidents during the profession change process were rare, they weren’t unheard of.

Therefore, an absolutely quiet environment was very necessary.

”Then let’s do it. What should I do? Do I need to take off my clothes?”

Xia Qi sat on the nearby sofa, making a move to take off his upper garment.

”No, no, you just need to put your hand on the crystal ball, and then leave the rest to me.”

”Alright then.”

It seemed to be a proper small room. Xia Qi put away his playful expression and placed his palm over the crystal ball.

”XDS@#E@#...”

After a series of obscure and difficult-to-understand incantations, the crystal ball began to emit dazzling light.

”Now, close your eyes and feel the Elemental Power.”

The profession changer’s voice rang in Xia Qi’s ears. If one wasn’t an Elemental Awakener, they would need to feel the Elemental Power, and then wait for the elements to enter the Awakener’s body to complete the profession change.

However, Xia Qi didn’t need to.

With just a thought, Thunder Breathing naturally began to circulate within his body. The Elemental Energy within his body began to gather regularly at his palm, resonating with the Elemental Energy inside the crystal ball.

Boom!

A sudden clap of thunder appeared out of nowhere, startling the profession changer who was standing by.

”Ah... Is this Elemental Resonance?!”

So-called Elemental Resonance refers to the resonance produced when the Elemental Power within an Awakener’s body achieves a high degree of compatibility with the Elemental Power within the crystal ball.

After resonance, Elemental reactions will appear in the surroundings, indicating that the Awakener is highly compatible with the Mage profession.

”Let me see what the resonance degree is.”

She pulled out a detector from the storage room. This detector could measure the data of Elemental Resonance.

”Ninety-five percent, oh my goodness, it’s still rising!”

Through the detector, the black-stockinged profession changer could clearly see the intensity of the resonance.

The data displayed on the detector made the profession changer instantly dumbfounded.

In the air, violent Thunder Elements were surging wildly. Through the crystal ball, countless black mists could actually be seen continuously churning, and lightning constantly darted between the black mists, making crackling sounds.

”Ninety-eight, ninety-nine, one hundred!”

”Perfectly Compatible!”

The profession changer looked at Xia Qi as if he were a monster. At this moment, Xia Qi’s entire body was already covered in thunderous light, as if in the next second, endless lightning would scatter and descend upon the human world.

”Protective Shield!”

The profession changer, disregarding her surprise, quickly cast a Spell, and a transparent protective shield enveloped Xia Qi and the crystal ball.

Boom!

Another huge clap of thunder exploded.

Within the small profession change room, countless flashes of lightning began to leap, and dazzling light had already covered the entire room.

Crack!

A crisp explosion sounded, and green smoke billowed from the detector in the profession changer’s hand; its internal components were directly destroyed by the ubiquitous Thunder Elemental.

In contrast, Xia Qi was already suspended in mid-air.

Dozens of beams of thunderous light shot out from his seven orifices, and the protective shield set up by the profession changer instantly shattered.

At this moment, Xia Qi was like the Thunder God descending upon the human world.
