Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 634: Chapter 165: Pale Forest

In the eyes of many, biotech corporations are often synonymous with biochemical monsters, muscle-bound strongmen, and mutant species.

To be more vivid, Aliens, zombies, Lickers, and Ironblood Warriors are products of these corporations.

As for the image of corporate employees, they are seen as gloomy researchers in white coats.

However, that is not the case at Vinos Life Safety Group, where every employee is a handsome man or beautiful woman, showing no signs of transformation, and completely pure.

As for their products, they are closely related to beauty, health, and longevity, having long monopolized the global cosmetics and health product markets, with a corporate mission dedicated to pursuing the ultimate in life safety.

At this moment, inside the Mechanical Main Brain, every handsome man and beautiful woman has entered a working state, with the men exuding energy and star-like eyes, and the women possessing sensual figures yet a strong, intelligent demeanour, definitely not mere vases.

In a massive monitoring room, five people are either sitting or standing, and in front of them is a large holographic screen, displaying Gao Gong and Host Brain.

Gao Gong gently waved the Single Molecule Line, his killing actions as graceful as a dance, the corpses of Radiation Beasts piled high around him, including B-level leaders, and even a few that were half-radiated, their mere corpses emanating terrifying pressure.

A-level!

”It seems Mr. G is indeed much stronger than imagined, truly the progenitor of Hunters, as even three A-level Radiation Beasts could not hinder his steps.”

A man with a center parting and delicate, fair features like a prince in an oil painting, named Cain Vinos, the latest Patriarch of the Vinos Clan, also sent to this Corporate War as the highest-level executive.

”Since our opponents are so strong, we must go all out from the start.”

A blonde, busty beauty said, glancing at Cain, a mesmerizing look flashing in her eyes.

”Helena, don’t act coy, quickly plug in!”

Another female executive dressed neutrally, with headphones and a colorful Mohawk, slapped her on the shoulder and tossed over a data cable.

”You hurt me, Judy.”

”Be glad I didn’t kill you! Quickly connect to the Brain-Machine!”

The executive named Judy said impatiently, then lowered her head to insert her data cable into the back of her own head.

The other two executives did the same.

Helena’s eyes flashed as she alluringly said to Cain, ”Young Master Cain, I must merge with you again.”

”It is my honor,” Cain Vinos smiled charmingly, and also connected to the Brain-Machine.

Then, the five data tubes visibly took on a flesh color, with a ’gurgle’ and ’gurgle’ of sucking sounds ensuing.

These did not seem like five data tubes, but rather five esophagi.

Under this influence, the clarity of the holographic screen surged, making it seem as if Gao Gong and the others stood right before them.

When the holographic screen turned off, the five people in the seats had vanished, leaving only five sets of suits of varying sizes on the chairs.

This once symbolized their presence.

...

”Boss, is your strength really that exaggerated?” ’Host Brain’ sent a series of worship emojis, ”The legendary Martial God of Mother City is no more than this, right.”

In front of him was a massive corpse, half dissected, yet still exuding a commanding and unyielding aura. The open surface resembled crystalline flesh, with blood magma flowing all around.

An A-level Radiation Beast, Red Demon, a monster akin to a volcano crater, where just the ripples from battle ignited fierce flames in several surrounding forests, with smoke billowing towards the sky.

Moments later, a beast head the size of a house crashed down, kicking up a cloud of dust. As the dust settled, a giant lion-like head came into view, with its head speared with fine lines invisible to the naked eye.

The Single Molecule Line has strong anti-high temperature and corrosion-resistant traits, but its weakness is that it cannot withstand energy attacks.

Coincidentally, the ’Red Demon’s blood’ was highly concentrated with radiation, and as its blood flowed out, the Single Molecule Line emitted greenish smoke before breaking one by one.

Gao Gong descended from the sky, the severed metal line rewinding into a silver-white arm, and in a few breaths, skin covered the arm’s surface again.

Memory Metal Durability -50%

Now only 450% remaining.

Likewise, Gao Gong glanced at the metal panel, with four slots on the Talent ’New Gene Biotype’ grid lighting up.

New Gene Biotype (Profession Exclusive): As a rare Beast Mechanic Transformer, you can absorb the talent and power of other carbon-based species, storing it and awakening the genes of these creatures when necessary to temporarily gain their powers (Limit: 5)

Hearing Host Brain’s compliment, Gao Gong counter-questioned:

”Your old battle buddy, Single God, is the Martial God, don’t you know his standard?”

”Single God is the Martial God?” Host Brain was startled: ”That guy who couldn’t utter a word all day?”

”The Martial God is the Martial God; there’s no faking it; otherwise, he wouldn’t be a vessel for the Gear Machine. Unfortunately—”

Gao Gong shook his head, regretting that the guy likely had a Heart Demon, or else, at his peak level, Gao Gong would at least have to enter Great Serpent Mode to suppress him.

Turn around and ask about it; Gao Gong still doesn’t fully understand why the other doesn’t pursue being a mechanical Martial God and instead acts as a hired muscle for others.

”Moreover, four A-level Radiation Beasts probably represent the limit in this area. Vinos Life Safety, no matter how skilled, likely won’t conjure more in the short term.”

A-level Radiation Beasts are not cabbages; they can’t be summoned at will. Even if they have some special technology, merely suppressing the beast nature within an A-level beast would probably take considerable effort.

Gao Gong circled around the ’Lion Head,’ and sure enough, on the back of it was a close to two-meter-long blood scar.

”Moreover, if I were them, I’d absolutely not employ piecemeal tactics, but have all four A-levels launch a Beast Tide simultaneously and attack from four directions.”

”Yet, since they didn’t do that, does it indirectly suggest controlling Radiation Beasts with a Brain-Machine is much harder than controlling people? After all, Radiation Beasts are just higher-level beasts.”

Gao Gong’s current location is called ’Pale Forest,’ beyond which lies Undead City, where the plants are grotesquely pale and emit a special low-level Radiation Field, effectively isolating scents.

’Could these malformed trees inhibit the spread of the Virus?’

Having reached here, Gao Gong must independently seek out the factors interfering with the spread of the Biochemical Brain-Machine Virus.

Soon, Gao Gong captured a local beast, unnamed, but its skin remained sickly white.

With a thought, Gao Gong extracted its genes and placed them within the ’New Gene Biotype.’

”Let’s go, we’ll scout the vicinity first, checking for any human settlements.”

’Host Brain’ did not reply; the screen on its face directly turned into a camera, capturing everything around.

With heightened perception surpassing ordinary people, the two quickly located a humanoid activity site, complete with tattered tents and some pots and pans, though without any human presence.

The second site was similar, slightly enhanced with some basic processing tools like knife grinders, hammers, and chopping boards.

Upon reaching the third site, Gao Gong even found some unused bullets.

”The most important rule for outdoor sites: never abandon weapons, no matter what.”

Gao Gong flipped a golden bullet in his hand, musing to himself.

”So, what could have caused them to abandon even their weapons and ammunition?”

”Could it be related to the ’Brain-Machine’?”

”Unlikely,” Gao Gong shook his head and said, ”Such comprehensive yet unpeopled scenarios are more akin to what you’ve described.”

”The Undead, do the undead really exist!?”

Gao Gong silently nodded, sat back on a worn-out army cot.

”Watch over me; I’m logging on to the web.”

’Electronic Brain Plan,’ though notorious for cracking open people’s skulls, did provide some benefits. With Brain Infrastructure globally, the internet speed is now incredibly fast.

Utilizing the internet, Gao Gong connected to Du Gao Technology’s most confidential base, only to be enveloped in another massive data stream, unable to move.

”Alright, stop playing, sister, I’m looking for you for something,” Gao Gong said helplessly.
