Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 565: Chapter 98: Players’ Tier 2 Top-Level Quest

A large-scale human virus experiment would be shot in normal civilizations.

But here, it’s quite normal.

The reason why Mas Sharpness didn’t succeed largely lies in the fact that the test subjects must be Mechanical Transformers with a human body transformation rate over 60%. This makes it a bit troublesome.

After all, NPCs at this level more or less have some social connections, and their brains are relatively normal, so they’re not easily manipulated by others. It’s hard to recruit normal test subjects—except for the not-so-normal 4th Celestial Calamity.

As soon as an anonymous post pinned by the Manager came out, it immediately attracted a lot of onlookers.

’Brothers, sisters, mechanical XP enthusiasts, carbon-based anti-human form transformers, I’m looking for a large alliance task, rich rewards, extremely high difficulty, limited time, those in need, contact me—’

The following is the title and content of this task. The title is ’Atomic Rescue Plan—Dr. Xie Lin’s Entrustment’. As for the content, it basically states that the ancient Dr. Xie Lin, awakened from the Civilization Era, seeks to retrieve his past research product, ’Atomic Heart,’ before the official camps Mechanical Legion and big corporation Mas Sharpness. This ’Atomic Heart’ is said to hold world-shattering energy.

Most players belong to the kind who don’t read too many words; they directly scrolled to the last column and were instantly blinded by the continuously flashing four lines of super rewards.

As for the task difficulty, it is unprecedentedly ’Tier 2 - Hell-level.’

Super task! Super mainline mission!! And it’s the highest difficulty, Hell-level!!!

Immediately, the Mechanical Split Star forum panel blew up. Not only ordinary players, but many big names who had been lurking for years couldn’t help but pop out.

’Whoa, Atomic City, see what I’ve discovered!?’ I Love Eating Buns

’Baozi also knows about this mission?’

’Don’t know, don’t understand, don’t care’

After a triple denial, Baozi’s avatar immediately turned black and went online simultaneously. On the contact list of the player trio, came someone’s triple urgent call.

And the forum discussions became increasingly heated.

’Tier 2, Hell-level task, seriously, even Tier 1 Hell-level tasks have rarely been completed, right?’

’This might be the first Tier 2 Hell-level task on this planet!’

’Not just on this planet, maybe even the first tier-two top-tier task in this game!’

’Can’t be fake, why else would it be anonymous?’

’Come on, they’ve already mentioned the immediacy of the task. If he gets killed, three days later, the task would mostly be invalid. You must believe there will definitely be idiots doing such thankless tasks.’

’Besides, the Manager has pinned it up. That’s quite the endorsement, an official stamp!’

’Interesting, I’m in the East 3 zone, I should make it.’ Eldest Brother Hui

’Whoa, big shot in the place!’

’Godfather, does your family need more people? I want to turn Mafia!’

’I don’t need people here, and my NPC faction isn’t good at recruiting players. If you want, you can join the ’Evil Jade Clan.’

’Ugh, those PVP maniacs, forget it.’

’@Rainy Night with a Knife and No Umbrella, Brother Umbrella, how about we make a move?’ Sister Ji

’Whoa, Empress of Horny Pictures!’

’What Empress of Horny Pictures, it’s clearly the generous and wealthy Ms. Ji, Long live the great Ms. Ji!!’

’Long live the great Ms. Ji!!!’

’Long live the great Ms. Ji!!!’

’Ms. Ji is three years old!!!’

’Maybe’ Rainy Night with a Knife and No Umbrella

In the game, on a ’Sea Anti-Gravity Train,’ Dida closed the game forum.

As a player who has been playing single-player maps for a long time, Dida is a typical lurker and naturally noticed the pinned post in the forum.

”Tier 2 mission ’Atomic Rescue’, why does it feel familiar in a scammy way?” Dida murmured to himself, but in the end, couldn’t resist the temptation, his body suddenly blurred, while slight energy arcs flashed through every energy board on the train.

...

”Phew, caught another wave of players.”

At the flying base, Gao Gong cleared the 99+ chat bar, sent out the last batch of slots, and sighed.

”Foolish Ouduo players, although you’re inhumane, shameless, greedy for money, and risk your life for beauty, you’re still as easy to deceive as ever.”

According to Gao Gong’s estimates, in the next day or two, the number of players appearing on Atomic Island will increase to four digits. This quantity should be enough to trigger the first wave of virus mutations.

Yes, Gao Gong plans to make players the virus-infected.

And he also intends to freeload.

Tier 2 task rewards are rich indeed, but it’s like a lottery—if you can’t complete it, the rewards are gone.

”By the way, there’s still some serious work I haven’t done yet.”

Gao Gong slapped his forehead, used the skill ’Ring of Digital Wisdom (Tier 2),’ and casually applied it to himself three times.

Skill Effect 3 (Ring of the Sage): Self-liberation is a crucial part of life liberation. You can perform ’liberation of life numbers,’ limited to three times a day, with no specific target.

[Your Power +1]

[Your Biological Energy +100]

[Your skin received slight enhancement]

Today’s daily complete!

After the three refreshes, Gao Gong’s skin exposed outside his clothes turned noticeably fairer, with a feeling of evolving from a little wolf dog into a greasy playboy.

Looking more and more like his true form, he felt a lot more comfortable breathing!

Gao Gong glanced at the reward bar, and there were still over a hundred random blueprints not yet unwrapped, time to get to work!

[You obtained Level 4 Weapon Blueprint [Dizziness Grenade]]

[You obtained Level 5 Virtual Blueprint [Mini Electronic Secretary]]

[You obtained Level 5 Medical Blueprint [HP Enhancement Syringe]]

[You obtained Level 4 Weapon Blueprint [Plug-in: Neon Flying Arrow]]

[You obtained Level 3 Weapon Blueprint [Ceramic Bulletproof Vest]]

[You obtained Level 6 Equipment Blueprint [Type I Dyson Sphere]]

...

An hour later, when Miao Miaomiao pushed open Gao Gong’s door, she found this alliance big shot in a state like he’d been writing a thesis for eight days straight, with bloodshot eyes and an on-the-verge-of-vomiting demeanor.

”What’s wrong with you, gone crazy researching viruses?” Miao Miaomiao was startled.

”I’m fine, just overate,” Gao Gong waved his hand, signaling her to sit down opposite, took a sip of water, and said, ”I have a business proposal to discuss with Mas Sharpness.”

”Discuss business?” Miao Miaomiao raised an eyebrow, outwardly calm, while military corporations have a very harsh competitive relationship, especially with Mas Sharpness, where it’s life-or-death with everyone, usually without cooperation; internally, they have already started researching tech products targeting the Du Gao Group.

”I have a few big projects, take a look—”

Gao Gong handed over a reading device, containing the three blueprints he just obtained.

[Type I Dyson Sphere], [Boson Lens], [Ion Acceleration Chamber]

”What are these—” Miao Miaomiao’s expressions shifted from confusion to surprise, and from surprise to shock, for no other reason than the terrifying content revealed by the opponent!

’Type I Dyson Sphere’ is the basic energy storage unit for the Dyson Sphere Plan, a stellar-level super engineering project.

’Boson Lens’ appears to be an ordinary magnifying glass, but in fact, it is an important piece for researching ’probability weapons.’

As for ’Ion Acceleration Chamber’ is even more familiar, it is the acceleration device for a super spaceship, which can perform ’star system navigation’-level space travel.

Simply put, these three blueprints are parts for ’Level 3 Civilization Architecture.’

And the reason Gao Gong picked these three out of over a hundred blueprints is simple: to use this technical information to lure the other party, then pull them into his own alliance.

He needs an insider in the Skull Society.
