Blacksmith of the Apocalypse

Chapter 1302: Ten Thousand Poison Valley

The fun part in this was obviously the actual forging of the piece. The work on the plaque was a mix of blacksmithing and goldsmithing, as it was not really a job for the big hammer. Although there were enchantments during the smelting and the forging, it also needed a specific size and engravings.

The design and engravings were elaborately described and depicted on the blueprint Nam had given him. For someone suffering from a general lack of creativity in his work, having a sketch he could copy was a great help to him.

As he began shaping the token, the enchantment surrounding him also sprang to life, adding a layer of difficulty, as he now had to forge and engrave while surrounded by moving and flickering lights. Yet, compared to simultaneously forging, channeling energy, channeling demons, and singing, this was a more relaxed forging process.

Once the plaque had taken shape, the goldsmithing part of the process began. Using his engraving chisels, Seth followed the blueprints and began to engrave a scene on the front of the detox token, as he liked to call it in his mind.

Displayed on the face was the scene of an ocean of mountains, with a night sky of geometric circles and stars. Magic engravings were cleverly hidden in the picture and united on the back of the plaque.

Seth quite liked the mystical style of the Cloud Continent. It was exotic and fresh. Unlike the system style which often hid the magical engravings in many lavish decorations and ornaments, the plaque combined art with function, proudly displaying the complicated geometric shapes and integrating them into the scene. At least in the front.

During the crafting, Seth would notice the actions of the enchantments one in a while, when magic formulas, symbols or a full ring, infused into the detox token, causing many of the lines and engraving to gains a slight glow, breathing life into the stars above the sea of mountains.

Unfortunately, the fun part didnʼt take too long. Using his engraving tools, , and the buffs from the anvil to create the item, the plaque took shape in barely an hour. This was just enough time for the enchantment Rún had prepared to take full effect.

Unexpectedly, in addition to what he expected, he had even gained some intelligence for “his” feat, bringing his Intelligence to 342! Rún was already worth the effort he had put into making him. Curiously, Seth appraised the finished detox token.

Although he roughly knew what it was supposed to be able to do originally, this was the system version of the original artifact, and he knew very well that things could sometimes take unexpected turns when it came to the system. Especially when there was a synergy involved.

1. Trait: Master of Poison

The result of a great feat of Master Smith, the first Master Goldsmith and Master Enchanter of Urth. Adapting the ancient techniques of a foreign world and an incredible accessory for all those who fear poison was created. >

Seth blinked once, twice. He was shocked seeing that the plaque only had a single effect, despite being praised to the moon and back by the flavor text. However, the blacksmith quickly understood when he looked at the details of the trait.

The Master of Poison is not only immune to poison and some poisonous energies, but he is able to recover strength through poisonous substances and energy.>

This was not only , but something akin to , similar to his own before gaining the Trait “Kin of Fire”. Wearing the charm was not only going to protect against poisons, but poisons would actively help recover resources like mana, stamina, mental power, and health!

Most incredibly of all, Seth had gained exactly this power as a pattern called “Blessing of the Ten Thousand Poison Valley”. In exchange for the Power of Existence, he would be able to add this power to other items, circumventing the costly enchantments altogether.

The Charm of the Ten Thousand Poison Valley was just perfect for his future plans. The blacksmith had always intended to start selling legendary items through the auction, to spread his name. After the great tournament, his name had spread quite a bit, and his gain of Power of Existence had exploded, but that wasnʼt enough.

Despite having the effect of being more memorable in foreign worlds, he got as reward for the system quest to create a saint, the amount per day was no longer increasing, while the power needed to level up rose exponentially. At this point he had to wait week to accumulate enough points for a level up.

Seth found that the time was approaching when he had to invest his power to increase his yield. This plaque was perfect for this, depending on the cost of PoE. Even if it was very expensive, just a fraction of the effect was already great. Even more importantly, it was a purely protective charm and couldnʼt harm anyone.

Even if someone evil ended up buying it, it would only guard against poison, too. And despite “only” guarding against poison, Seth couldnʼt see this failing as a product. There were more than enough rulers and leaders afraid of poison, not to mention high-ranking players for whom the poison effect was a dreadful existence.

Once he finished all the things that had cropped up recently, he was sure to explore the possibilities of a true forger, selling lots of faked legendary items through the auction and getting his name well-known across the system worlds.

The future potential was great, but even the immediate effects were something to celebrate. Seth had finished Namʼs artifact; no, his item was even better than the artifact Nam had wanted. With this, the cultivator was going to recover rapidly, and at that point, Seth was sure that they would gain another quasi-legendary ally.

After all, Nam had mentioned that his cultivation had suffered from the poison, sealing most of it to combat the terrifying Qi and poison eating away at his body. Even as little more than a moving corpse, Nam was powerful. How far would he be able to reach if he recovered? In addition, Seth could provide him with proper gear, boosting his power even further.

Nam and Dowloon, geared up with good stuff, would be a great help when they started their offensive on the Cloud Continent. Thinking all that, Seth kept staring at the charm, admiring his and Rùnʼs work.

“Welp, itʼs already late. I think we should finish for today. I will look for Nam and give it to him, before going to my quarters,” the blacksmith informed his three assistants before leaving the workshop.

Using the function of the tower, which was able to act unhindered in Delta since Chrona sabotaged the defenses, Seth easily found Nam, who was just sitting in his room in the embassy. Was he cultivating? Having just teleported right in front of the roomʼs door, he hesitated.

Yu told him that it wasnʼt good to disturb a cultivator during their cultivation. It might not have any effect, but in the worst cases, it could cause great harm and even death. At least that was what Master Mountain said.

“You can come in, Iʼm finished cultivating a while ago,” Namʼs raspy voice came from inside the room. it seemed like he had felt Sethʼs presence and anticipated the blacksmithʼs worries.

“What brings you here?” the cultivator asked the blacksmith, once Seth had entered his room. Although he had hesitated at the door, since he was asked in, Seth was in high spirits to reveal his reason for being here.

“Haha, why do you think I would come by so late in the day?” Seth asked. He wanted Nam to guess, but the cultivator simply stared at him, so he answered himself by flashing the plaque in front of his face.

“I finished it, though you still need a string to carry it... I was a little too excited and forgot about that,” Seth mentioned, suddenly realizing that there was still something missing, but Nam had stopped listening to him when he saw the charm in front of his eyes.

“Is this really... my masterʼs last work?” he whispered roughly.

“Err, well, it is a system adaptation of your Masterʼs blueprint, so technically it is my work based on his,” Seth said honestly. He and Rùn had put a lot of work into this, and he wasnʼt going to give all the credit to a dead person.

“...Thank you,” Nam said choked up, as if he didnʼt hear Sethʼs comment.

“No problem. You seem to need some time for yourself, so I will leave you alone now,” Seth said with a vague smile and left to return to his own quarters. Since Mina and Fin were still in Spring City, he could only watch some shows and go to sleep.
