Celestial Beast Taming

Chapter 289: Chapter 177: Flower Venerable’s 3 Conditions

With his mind at ease, Zhong Yi began treating Ren Suxin.

Since Ren Suxin was just an ordinary person, her physique was weaker than even a Mortal Beast Level Guardian Beast Master’s.

Under the treatment of the Resurrection Celestial Lord, a large amount of the Life Energy in Ren Suxin’s body was used to repair her Heart Vein.

As a result, Ren Suxin’s face turned pale, and she even swayed on her feet.

This made Flower Venerable’s heart instantly seize with worry!

Zhong Yi didn’t rush things. In Ren Suxin’s current state, it was no longer advisable to use the Core of Resurgence for further treatment.

Although her Heart Vein wasn’t fully healed, Ren Suxin could now live a normal life without relying on those expensive materials.

Getting emotional or even running and jumping around would no longer have a major impact.

Once Ren Suxin rested for a while and her Life Energy was fully replenished,

Zhong Yi could treat her one or two more times to completely resolve the problem with her Heart Vein.

Flower Venerable rushed forward to support the tottering Ren Suxin, worried that Zhong Yi’s treatment might have harmed her sister.

Flower Venerable did have great faith in Zhong Yi’s Healing Ability. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have passed the Celestial Destiny Society’s potential assessment, nor would he have earned such high praise from Star Night.

Flower Venerable knew very well just how high Star Night’s standards were.

But Ren Suxin’s current state was too wretched, closely resembling how she herself felt when the seed in her own body flared up and drained her Life Energy.

Out of habit, Flower Venerable used her Soul Power to check the condition of Ren Suxin’s body.

As she checked, an astonished expression appeared on her face.

The astonishment then transformed into elation. Flower Venerable, always so cool and aloof, couldn’t stop her eyes from turning red at the rims.

Star Night’s earlier words had led Flower Venerable to suspect Zhong Yi’s treatment would be effective.

But she never expected that after just one treatment, her sister’s damaged Heart Vein would already be mostly healed.

All that was left was for the Heart Vein to fully recover. Then, the Nirvana Phoenix Peony could undergo its Fifth Nirvana and finally bloom.

The worry that had constantly weighed on Flower Venerable’s mind was finally settled!

Her sister could finally become a Guardian Beast Master, just as she had always wished!

Before Flower Venerable could say anything, the very weak Ren Suxin, leaning on her for support, spoke up to thank Zhong Yi.

Zhong Yi smiled and said,

”For the next few days, you just need to eat some nourishing medicinal meals every day. After three days, you can receive the second treatment.”

”Two more treatments, and all the injuries to your Heart Vein will be completely healed.”

Flower Venerable also thanked Zhong Yi with great solemnity, then sent her sister back to the Celestial Destiny Society to rest and recuperate.

When Flower Venerable returned to Star Frost Tower, she planned to give the Endless Wood to Zhong Yi directly.

There was no need to wait until her sister was fully healed to give Zhong Yi his payment.

Witnessing Zhong Yi’s Healing Ability firsthand convinced Flower Venerable of the importance of fostering a good relationship with him.

At that moment, Flower Venerable’s thoughts were no longer on herself, but focused entirely on her sister and Zhong Yi.

Before Flower Venerable could even retrieve the Endless Wood from her Soul Base, she heard Star Night speak.

”Flower Venerable, Xiaoyi said he’s figured out the nature of your condition.”

”Don’t you want Xiaoyi to treat you?”

Star Night’s words struck Flower Venerable like a clap of thunder.

Flower Venerable’s gaze sharpened in an instant, and she looked toward Zhong Yi with a complicated expression.

’I’m not injured at all. I’m being parasitized by a seed of unknown origin.’ Flower Venerable couldn’t believe Zhong Yi could possibly know something like that.

This was arguably Flower Venerable’s greatest secret!

For an expert like Flower Venerable, exposing a weakness was the most unacceptable thing.

Yet, Star Night’s words also sparked a flicker of hope in Flower Venerable’s heart—or perhaps, it was more of a desperate wish.

’What if Zhong Yi really has figured out what’s wrong with me? What if he can actually free me from this predicament and remove the seed?’

’But the chances were minuscule. Her condition wasn’t an injury.’

’The Healing Energy from Zhong Yi’s Order Beast couldn’t possibly remove a seed that even she herself was powerless against.’

Realizing this, Flower Venerable subconsciously wanted to refuse, but that tiny sliver of possibility made her hesitate.

Flower Venerable felt she had to talk to Zhong Yi. At the very least, she needed to find out if he truly knew about her condition.

”Star Night, could you arrange a private room for us in Star Frost Tower? I’d like to speak with Xiaoyi alone.”

”I don’t want anyone else to know the specifics of my condition. I hope you understand.”

Far from being displeased, Star Night replied with complete understanding.

”You and Xiaoyi can talk here. I actually have some things to discuss with Xu Zhi.”

”Flower Venerable, we may be from different cities, but we are both Celestial Destiny Seekers of the Xin Xia Federation. You don’t have to carry every burden alone.”

”If there’s anything I can do, just ask.”

With that, Star Night left Star Frost Tower.

After Star Night was gone, Flower Venerable activated the Beast Pattern beneath her collar. An invisible force field instantly enveloped the entire floor of Star Frost Tower.

”Xiaoyi, you said you understand my condition. I’m curious... what is it that you know?”

Zhong Yi could hear the probing tone in her voice. Clearly, Flower Venerable didn’t believe he had actually grasped the full details of her situation.

Zhong Yi cherished the opportunity Star Night had created for him to speak with Flower Venerable alone.

Zhong Yi held nothing back.

”Aunt Ying, it must be agonizing to have a parasite inside you.”

”And I’m confident I can remove it!”

”If you want to be free of this parasite, Aunt Ying, I’ll need your complete trust and cooperation.”

Flower Venerable’s expression changed dramatically at Zhong Yi’s words. She was speechless for a long moment.

After several more minutes, Flower Venerable’s voice was hoarse as she finally managed to choke out a few words.

”Is that true!?”

Zhong Yi nodded with conviction.

”Aunt Ying, I wouldn’t make such a promise if I weren’t certain.”

”If I succeed in removing the parasite from your body, Aunt Ying, I don’t need any other payment. I only hope you’ll give the object itself to me.”

Zhong Yi wanted the object inside Flower Venerable’s body, the one that made his Soul-Controlling Flower react with such intense desire.

Before helping her remove it, Zhong Yi had to lay out his terms clearly.

If Flower Venerable was unwilling to hand it over, then there was no reason for Zhong Yi to have the Soul-Controlling Flower remove it in the first place.

As long as the object remained inside Flower Venerable, there was a chance for Zhong Yi to obtain it.

Zhong Yi didn’t think his request was unreasonable. The parasite was already harming Flower Venerable, after all.

She had no reason to refuse him.

In order to make this treatment happen, Zhong Yi uncharacteristically dropped his modesty and gave Flower Venerable a very definite answer.

At this moment, Flower Venerable’s emotions were even more tangled than before.

Her main purpose in coming to Starlight City had been to build goodwill with Zhong Yi, the Xin Xia Alliance’s only Healing-type Celestial Destiny Seeker.

She hadn’t actually held out much hope that Zhong Yi could cure her sister.

Yet not only had Zhong Yi healed her sister’s damaged Heart Vein, but he might even be able to solve the hidden affliction that had plagued her for years.

If Zhong Yi could remove the seed from her body, she might truly have a chance to become the Xin Xia Alliance’s fourth Guardian Beast Master to reach the Peak of Ten Thousand Nations.

Flower Venerable stared intently at Zhong Yi, suddenly feeling that this young man before her was her and her sister’s salvation.

”Xiaoyi, the parasite in my body is actually a seed. It was originally a spoil of war I obtained during the Qiyuan Holy War.”

”If you can remove the seed, you’re welcome to take it.”

”Furthermore, I’ll promise you three favors. This promise is different from the help Star Night gives you.”

”Star Night’s help has its limits. But I am willing to help you three times with no limits whatsoever. I’ll do anything you ask.”
