Celestial Beast Taming

Chapter 274: Chapter 170: A Collaboration That Comes Knocking

Creators fulfill the roles of producers and cultivators within the Guardian Beast Master community.

This is why the various Heroic Cities allocate a large sum of funds to High Tier Creators each year: to ensure these Creators remain in their cities.

The High Tier Creators in each Heroic City primarily serve that city’s Celestial Destiny Seekers and other powerful experts.

Of course, there are some Creators who are not affiliated with any Heroic City and have chosen not to cooperate with the official city governments.

However, these Creators have usually joined a powerful faction and exclusively serve the interests of that faction.

For example, the prestigious Fang Family in the Imperial Capital retains a Six-finger Creator.

And Tao En would, in the future, also become a Creator for Zhong Yi’s faction.

Once he joined Zhong Yi’s ranks, Tao En would serve his faction exclusively.

Getting such a faction-affiliated Creator to help concoct Potions was even more difficult.

If that weren’t the case, Fu Mo would not have been willing to be branded as a thankless traitor.

He had previously received a great boon from Tao En, and their close relationship meant he was already marked as one of Tao En’s associates.

Even though he now chose to align himself with Cao Xing’an, and Cao Xing’an was outwardly very cordial, whenever he asked Cao Xing’an to concoct Potions, Cao Xing’an would always find some excuse to delay or politely refuse.

Fu Mo had seen Tao En concoct Potions before and knew the kind of output a Five-finger Peak Creator could achieve when fully dedicated to the task.

Whenever he sought Tao En’s help, Tao En had never once made him wait.

He would even customize the Potions to suit the specific needs of his Guardian Beasts.

But Tao En’s soul was damaged. He lost his value and was utterly suppressed by Cao Xing’an.

Now, more than nostalgia or gratitude for the man Tao En used to be, Fu Mo felt only resentment.

’If it weren’t for Tao En, I wouldn’t be unable to form a true alliance with Cao Xing’an!’

Fu Mo hadn’t wanted to get involved in the conflict between Tao En and Cao Xing’an.

But last night, Cao Xing’an had come to his mansion with a Potion, asking for his help.

Fu Mo saw it as the perfect opportunity to completely sever his ties with Tao En and get closer to Cao Xing’an, so he agreed to make this trip with Yin Mo.

Seeing Fu Mo’s face flush red, Wen Tao knew he had thoroughly antagonized him.

But Wen Tao didn’t care.

Wen Tao had deliberately taken the lead in negotiating with the two Celestial Destiny Seekers from Longya City. Zhong Yi had tried to speak several times, but Wen Tao had always cut in and taken over the conversation.

’Since this action was destined to offend the Celestial Destiny Seekers of Longya City and other factions, including Cao Xing’an, it was better for me to bear the resulting malice and hatred than to let Zhong Yi, a Celestial Destiny Seeker who had just awakened his Soul Base, carry that burden.’

”Steward He, this is the private space you arranged for us, the Celestial Destiny Seekers from Starlight City. I need you to escort them out.”

”And for the next few days, if anyone else comes with similar intentions, please don’t bring them to us.”

Yin Mo frowned at Wen Tao, mulling over his words for a full half-minute before he finally spoke.

”I’m just giving you some friendly advice. Even though you’re Celestial Destiny Seekers from Starlight City, offending a Five-finger Peak Creator will still have a massive impact on you.”

”I hope you don’t bring this on yourselves!”

Wen Tao ignored Yin Mo’s threat, instead making a gesture to He Meisi.

He Meisi, with the same warm and pleasant attitude as always, turned to Yin Mo and Fu Mo.

”Since you were unable to reach an agreement, please leave with me.”

”According to the rules of the Celestial Destiny Society, this area is indeed designated for the Celestial Destiny Seekers from Starlight City.”

”If there’s any news from this side, I will be sure to contact you.”

Before he left with He Meisi, Fu Mo growled in a low voice.

”I refuse to believe you’ll stay in Longya City forever for Tao En’s sake. Go on, stay here in Longya City and protect him forever, if you’ve got the nerve.”

Zhong Yi felt as if he had just witnessed a farce.

Zhong Yi had no particular opinion of the Celestial Destiny Seeker Yin Mo; after all, they simply stood on different sides.

His opinion of the other one, Fu Mo, however, was abysmal.

Zhong Yi could sense Tao En’s dejection, but he had no intention of comforting him.

’Some things, Tao En just had to figure out for himself.’

The news that Zhong Yi and Wen Tao, two Celestial Destiny Seekers from Starlight City, were protecting Tao En caused a massive uproar in Longya City.

It was seen as an open challenge to Cao Xing’an, a Five-finger Peak Creator!

Because of Zhong Yi’s youth, no one thought he had anything to do with the decision to protect Tao En.

Instead, people began to speculate about the personal relationship between Wen Tao and Tao En, and how it had been formed.

And they wondered what kind of relationship could possibly motivate Wen Tao to offend a Five-finger Peak Creator like Cao Xing’an.

「That night.」

He Meisi found Wen Tao and Zhong Yi again.

”Lord Zhong Yi, Lord Jing Shui, quite a few people wished to visit you today.”

”However, all the previous visitors had the same purpose as Yin Mo and Fu Mo.”

”As per your instructions, I did not show them in or make any introductions.”

”The person who wishes to visit you now has a different purpose from the others. I wonder if you would be willing to meet this guest.”

Hearing this, Zhong Yi’s interest was immediately piqued.

The goal of all the previous visitors had been to get them to abandon their protection of Tao En and force him to leave the Celestial Destiny Society.
