Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce

Judith Pierce had already walked out of the villa and into the garden. Her tone grew a few degrees colder. ”If you hadn’t done something so outrageous, Walker would never have sent you away. At your age, why can’t you just let things go?”

Madam Grant, however, snorted coldly and said, ”Let things go? And just watch that homewrecker tear our Grant family apart until there’s no peace left? If we let her stay in the Grant family, it’ll be our family that suffers in the future!”

”But Walker is the one who refuses to divorce,” Judith Pierce said, a headache coming on. ”Chloe Reed has already filed the lawsuit. He’s the one who won’t agree to the divorce. What can you do?”

Madam Grant sneered, ”That’s only because she used some sordid tricks to bewitch Walker.”

Judith Pierce: ”...”

She was speechless.

But right now, she had something important to say, and her expression turned grave. ”Mom, Walker is now the president of the Grant Group. He’s the only son I have, and the only grandson you have. You should stop saying such vicious things.”

Madam Grant snorted but didn’t say anything more.

”There’s one more thing. I’ve been thinking about it, and I feel I should tell you, just so you’re mentally prepared,” Judith Pierce said slowly.

”What is it?” Madam Grant asked, puzzled.

Judith Pierce said, ”I also think Chloe Reed isn’t fit to remain in the Grant family, so I came up with a plan. We get Walker and Sunny Reed together. That way, Walker will be the one to initiate the divorce, and Chloe Reed will naturally leave the Grant family.”

”Absolutely not!”

After hearing her out, Madam Grant sharply refused. ”Are you insane? A man getting involved with his sister-in-law? Do you want the Grant family to become a laughingstock? Judith Pierce, what kind of rotten idea is this? Let me tell you, I refuse!”

”Do you have a better idea, then?” Judith Pierce’s tone grew colder.

Madam Grant fell silent for a moment but still insisted, ”In any case, I don’t approve. It’s too disgraceful! If I died, I wouldn’t be able to face the ancestors of the Grant family!”

”Mom, Walker is different with Sunny Reed. He’s just used to Chloe Reed, that’s all. Once he’s really with Sunny, he’ll naturally divorce Chloe. Besides, you don’t know—something happened a while ago. Walker almost died!” Judith Pierce’s voice grew agitated.

She recounted what had happened earlier.

After listening, Madam Grant was so stunned she was speechless for a long time!

Judith Pierce let out a heavy breath and sighed. ”I don’t have any other options right now. Chloe Reed has already agreed to help, so don’t be a hindrance at a time like this.”

Madam Grant’s resolve began to waver. ”Will this really work?”

”We won’t know until we try.” Judith Pierce gave a bitter smile. ”If there were any other way, I wouldn’t want to do this either. But right now, there isn’t. Besides, Noah is very dependent on Walker. If the three of them live together, I can rest a little easier.”

Even though she despised Sunny Reed.

But at the moment, no other woman could get close to Walker Grant, and the only one with a chance was Sunny Reed.

So, this was her only choice.

”Fine,” Madam Grant finally relented. ”Hurry up and kick that jinx out. She’s nothing but bad luck!”

Judith Pierce furrowed her brows. ”Mom, try not to say such things in the future. You should watch what you say.”

As soon as she finished speaking, she hung up the phone.

She glanced back toward the villa, a flicker of determination in her eyes.

...

「In the living room.」

Chloe Reed was playing a game on her phone. The sound effects of a tile-matching game chimed intermittently, but the atmosphere in the living room was frigid. The two moods failed to merge, creating a strange tension.
