The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 1242: Chapter 1242: Monkey Tricks

The first round opened with a triple, this luck is undeniably extraordinary!

But is it really luck?

Zhang Ya’Er was suspicious, DS and Shan, as well as the onlookers, were also suspicious, but no one had any evidence; it was just speculation, so no one dared to say much.

Cheating is taboo in card arenas; once caught, the consequences are absolutely dire. But accusing someone without proof of cheating is slander; the consequences of that are equally unpleasant. You know, cheaters are the most hated in the card arenas. If someone accused you falsely, how could you let it go easily?

As LuuYong collected the gambling chips, the gaze between Zhang Ya’Er and the other two exchanged a silent inquiry about whether they’d caught any handle on Lin Tian. Unfortunately, they found nothing.

This guy was here to shake things up, relying three parts on luck and seven parts on skill, where skill refers to the technique of cheating. If the technique is clever enough, no one will see through it, which means the visit to the arena would be a success, not only shaming the card arena but also taking away a big pile of money!

”Continue.” Shan raised his hand and directly bet all fifty thousand chips on ’Big’.

Lin Tian was amused at once and laughed, ”I haven’t even thrown the dice, and you’ve already placed your bet?”

”Early or late, it’s all about intuition and luck, what’s the difference? I don’t believe Mr. Lin can keep winning like this.” Shan lifted his hand and smiled, which appeared to be friendly, as if he and Lin Tian were old friends.

”I’ll bet big as well.” Zhang Ya’Er pushed forward a pile without even counting the chips.

”I think it’s gonna be small this time,” DS muttered and placed his bet. Mrs. Liu and the others immediately followed suit.

Lin Tian smiled meaningfully, picked up the dice cup, and started shaking it again. When the dice cup was placed down and his hand withdrew, Lin Tian said, ”Before I open the dice cup, I’ll give you one more chance. Do you want to change your bet?”

Zhang Ya’Er leaned back in her chair, arms crossed, just about to say ”Just open it,” when Shan interrupted, ”Wait, I need to change mine.”

With that, he shifted his chips to the other side with his arm, betting small!

The situation at the table changed. More were betting small, fewer were betting big. If the dice showed a small number, Lin Tian would lose; otherwise, he’d win.

”Any changes?” Lin Tian asked again.

”No changes!”

”Then I will open it!” Lin Tian flipped the dice cup and, zooming in for clarity, laughed loudly: ”Four sixes and a five, twenty-nine. Big!”

Shan’s expression quickly changed from expectation to annoyance; he was very unwilling to lose this round! He felt tricked, like those wild monkeys in the zoo, fooled round and round!

Clearly, it had been agreed earlier to bet big, but this guy had to ask again, sowing doubts. In the card arena, besides luck, wisdom also plays a part; people become suspicious, and Lin Tian seized that, turning Shan’s win into a loss.

”Ah, it’s a pity, just one short of five sixes for a full house, what a nice sweep it would have been.” Lin Tian said, somewhat regretfully. This further irked Shan; it was typical of gaining advantage and still acting innocent!

Once all the chips were settled, Lin Tian looked at Shan and said with a smile, ”In gambling, once you have an intuition, you should stick to it. If you don’t even trust your own intuition, what else can you trust?”

The voice was loud, the tone soft, more like a teacher speaking to a student, which made Shan feel all the more frustrated; do I really need you to teach me these things?!

If the circumstance were appropriate, Shan might just jump up from his chair and spit at Lin Tian for relief!

Dice games are extremely quick. A round might not even take a minute but can involve tens or even hundreds of thousands fluctuating.

After a dozen rounds, Lin Tian won more than he lost, and now had around forty-three million chips!

Whether it was Zhang Ya’Er and her two companions or Mrs. Liu and others, looking at the rapidly diminishing chips, their expressions turned unpleasant. But no one wanted to leave the table; they believed that if Lin Tian cheated, they would surely catch his flaw. And if it was luck, it would eventually reverse!

In gambling, ”the onlooker is clear” couldn’t be more appropriate; when addiction kicks in, no one wants to leave the table.

Zhang Ya’Er and the other two were unlike Mrs. Liu; they were the overseers of the casino, unable to let Lin Tian walk away with so much money. At least they needed him to leave some to justify themselves. But things hadn’t gone as they wished...

Throwing the dice cup onto the table, Lin Tian stretched lazily and said, ”Not playing anymore, it’s really boring, your hands are too ’stinky’! Winning this money doesn’t feel like anything; might as well just go home and sleep.”

This comment stirred up a red-eye envy in many; to win to the point of feeling nothing? The surrounding spectators were all thrilled and excited. Today’s gambling round was spectacular; in just a dozen rounds, those in the card arena couldn’t even retaliate; it was exhilarating to watch!

Lin Tian glanced at Wu Yong and asked with a smile, ”How much have we won so far?”

”Heh, heh, I’ve been keeping track; it’s a total of forty-three million two hundred ten thousand! Subtracting the two million we brought, we’ve made just a little profit.”

Wu Yong chuckled slyly. Just this ’little’ had him beaming!

The whole place was in an uproar; they all knew Lin Tian had won big tonight, but this figure surpassed their expectations!

Lin Tian smiled, ”The results aren’t bad.”

But in the ears of Zhang Ya’Er and others, it sounded entirely different; it could be seen as boasting or downright gloating. Such dazzling results; it’s as if he slapped them across the face, losing face massively! They couldn’t stand it, they had to win back!

”Mr. Lin, since you rarely come by, and I haven’t had much chance to play with you, it’s really dull to see you leave so soon. You know, just randomly guessing dice is boring; if we play something else that combines courage and wisdom, it could be more interesting,” Zhang Ya’Er said.

”Oh?” Lin Tian smiled, showing slight interest, ”What do you want to play?”

”Blackjack!” Zhang Ya’Er said.

This is a type of card game, originating from Tang Country, with rules as straightforward as its name. Players start with two cards, and if they think the points are too low, they can draw more cards. By the end, the total points of all their cards can’t exceed twenty-one; going over means you lose. If both players are within twenty-one, the higher points win.

This game is simple yet thrilling, testing both courage and wisdom, and each round can finish quickly.
