The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 1214: Chapter 1214: Definitely Her Boyfriend

In nearly a month’s time, Lin Tian’s life has become much more comfortable compared to before, except for having to practice sword fighting with Xu Xianrong every day.

Returning to Kanyue City felt similar to being discharged from the hospital, but this time, there was no one to discharge him. Along the way, only Zhao Qingtang was there with him. As for Miaoqiu and others, they were now in the initial stage of cultivating Spiritual Qi, which was a crucial period, so they stayed at Luoyan Dock.

Zhao Qingtang sat in the driver’s seat, hesitated for a moment, and asked, ”Should I send you home first?”

All good things must come to an end. For these days, she was by Lin Tian’s side every day, with endless conversation each day. She enjoyed such a life, just like what’s written in The Analects of Confucius: without the noise of silk strings, without the exhaustion of desk work.

Serene yet reassuring.

Now it was time to separate, and she felt a bit unsettled inside.

Lin Tian was leaning on the passenger seat, with his head tilted back, staring at the heavy clouds above, lost in thought. Zhao Qingtang’s words brought him back from his reverie, and Lin Tian smiled after thinking a bit, ”It’s still early, let’s go to the teacher’s house first; it’s been a long time since I’ve tasted the food she cooked.”

”Alright.” Zhao Qingtang’s initially anxious mood brightened, as if the clouds had parted, revealing a sweet smile that Lin Tian couldn’t help but gaze at, entranced.

Over this period of time, Lin Tian had come to understand another side of Zhao Qingtang. Previously, she seemed so proud, always competitive, especially in her medical skills. But getting to know her more, she turned out to be an easily content girl, and marrying her would be a blessing gathered over many lifetimes.

Both had their own thoughts, chatting here and there on the way, mostly Zhao Qingtang talking about family matters.

During the journey, the two also stopped by a mall, picking out some gifts. The teacher’s wife liked fashionable things, so they chose two sets of elegant and dignified gowns, perfect for the approaching summer. Apart from medical skills, the teacher loved good tea, so they bought two top-grade cakes of Huangshan Maofeng tea.

When they arrived at the front door, there was no sound inside despite ringing the bell and knocking, as if nobody was home.

”I didn’t bring the key... Maybe I should call Grandma; she might be playing mahjong.” Zhao Qingtang said as she was about to pull out her phone.

”No need.” Lin Tian said, and then placed his hand on the door handle, twisted it lightly twice, and with a ’click’, the door opened.

Looking at Lin Tian with wide eyes full of surprise, before she even asked, Lin Tian explained, ”Haha, just a small trick, don’t worry, I’m not the kind of flower thief who breaks into girls’ rooms every day.”

Zhao Qingtang raised her delicate eyebrow, gave him a sidelong glance, thinking to herself: You totally are!

Changing into indoor shoes and entering the house, it was still the familiar layout. Though the place wasn’t big, it was clean and bright, arranged warmly and tastefully, clearly a scholar’s dwelling.

Putting the bought gifts on the sofa, Zhao Qingtang sank into the sofa, stretched her limbs, and lazily yawned, her slender figure gracefully alluring, truly pleasing to the eye.

This comfort came from spending so many days with Lin Tian, eliminating much of the strangeness between them; she wouldn’t have been so unrestrained in front of him in the past.

”Why are you staring at me like that?” Zhao Qingtang noticed his gaze and suddenly felt uneasy again.

Suddenly, Lin Tian sat down next to her, close enough that their hands could touch with a casual gesture.

Zhao Qingtang’s heart started racing, her thoughts becoming somewhat chaotic.

”Hey...” Lin Tian suddenly asked.

”What?”

”Would you like some water?”

”Sure...”

It wasn’t until Lin Tian stood up and walked towards the fridge that Zhao Qingtang realized things weren’t right. Isn’t this my home? Shouldn’t I be the one pouring water? This guy really made himself at home here.

Zhao Qingtang shook her head slightly, telling herself quietly: Zhao Qingtang, you can’t panic! You can’t let him take the lead! It’s important!

”Here, the water’s just right.” Lin Tian placed the water in front of Zhao Qingtang, saying, ”By the way, I just saw there are a lot of ingredients in the fridge, and it’s almost mealtime, why don’t we cook first?”

”Uh...” Zhao Qingtang hesitated for a moment, then nodded, ”Alright...”

After answering, Zhao Qingtang regretted, wasn’t she supposed to take the lead? How come she listened to him again?

However, with both of them in the house and her grandparents absent, it seemed this was the best arrangement.

Next, she saw Lin Tian roll up his sleeves and put on an apron, though the color...was a bit strange.

”Haha~”

”What are you laughing at?” Lin Tian turned to look at her.

”Nothing, I just think pink suits you well, hahaha.”

Lin Tian rolled his eyes, and upon looking down, realized it did fit quite well.

”Can you really cook?” Zhao Qingtang asked seriously, recalling that he once said he’d cook to express his gratitude at Luoyan Dock, though she didn’t quite believe him then.

”Of course, or you could do it.” Lin Tian squinted and smiled, knowing this passionate doctoral student would hardly know how.

”Hmph!”

”Alright, don’t be pouty, can you at least wash vegetables? If not, I can teach you.”

”Hmph! How do you teach?”

”I’ll teach you hand by hand.”

...

Click.

That was the sound of a key turning in the door.

The door opened, and hearing noise from inside, the person hurriedly glanced into the house.

Seeing the table with three beautifully presented dishes and a bowl of soup, and the two busy in the kitchen behind the glass door separating the area from smoke, their expression turned very peculiar, with wide eyes and mouths agape in surprise.

”Is that Qingtang?” Xu Wan asked.

Zhao Xuefeng confirmed again and nodded, saying, ”It probably is.”

Xu Wan had told Zhao Qingtang countless times that girls must learn to cook to make it easier to find good in-laws. But Zhao Qingtang proudly said, ”I want to become an ancient doctor, not a chef, why should I learn this? A gentleman stays away from the kitchen, no learning!”

Regarding cooking, Zhao Qingtang was extremely resistant, no matter how many times it was mentioned. So why today...busy and happy in the kitchen?

”Dad, who is that guy?” The middle-aged man beside Zhao Xuefeng, who resembled him by seventy or eighty percent, asked. He was Zhao Qingtang’s father, Zhao Yushu.

”That...”

Before Zhao Xuefeng finished, Zhao Qingtang’s mother Zhang Youling laughed, ”Isn’t it obvious? Look at how close they are, he must be Qingtang’s boyfriend. The girl is grown up now, and she kept it a secret from us. Mom, we’ve been worrying for nothing all this time.”

This could be catching them in the kitchen, right?
