The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 978: Chapter 978: Understanding Each Other

Jin Guard is a decisive and efficient person. When he said he wanted to retire in Jinzhou, he already booked a flight there.

In fact, during the recent unknown battle, it wasn’t just Nan Qiu who got injured, several of her comrades were also hurt.

But for these iron-blooded warriors, such injuries are nothing, and long journeys are even less of a problem.

As Jin Guard was leaving, Nan Qiu could not go with him because of the command ’it’s an order,’ and had to follow her new master, Lin Tian, to learn some martial arts.

Today has reached the ’Spring Equinox,’ but for the northern Kanyue City, it’s still covered in heavy snow. Just one night, and the snow can accumulate.

The only way to identify the general location of the original road is through the trees planted alongside it.

Crunch, crunch...

Lin Tian liked the sound of stepping on snow, neither pleasing nor annoying to the ear, but mundane enough to calm the body and mind.

Walking slightly behind and to the left of Lin Tian, Nan Qiu’s steps on the snow were three times heavier than his. It seemed as if she was at odds with the ground.

”You want to follow your Guard to Jinzhou?” Lin Tian asked mildly.

Nan Qiu did not respond, focusing instead on the ground beneath her feet.

”If you want to go, I can arrange it right now. I’ve done everything I could for you.” Lin Tian spoke with a smile, his eyes narrowing into slits like a cunning fox.

”You know I can’t go.” Nan Qiu replied in a voice lacking the confidence it once had, sounding rather soft instead, whether out of dejection or something else.

Lin Tian chuckled, ”Oh, so you do know, which is why you’re stomping the ground so hard, taking it out on it like it’s your Guard?”

”Are you provoking me?!” In an instant, Nan Qiu became like an unsheathed blade, staring into the distance, sharp enough to stab a big hole through Lin Tian at any moment.

She glared at Lin Tian, saying, ”I wish every step was on you.”

Unperturbed, Lin Tian asked with a chuckle, ”Why? I didn’t ask you to follow me. Do I look like an easy target?”

”It’s all your fault. If it weren’t for you, I’d be on a plane to Jinzhou.” She replied stubbornly.

Look at this unreasonable woman, how has she started acting so absurd?

”No matter what you think, for now, you are my errand girl.” Lin Tian smiled.

Nan Qiu stopped walking, standing in place, the pale snow scene behind her adding a hint of desolation.

”I have no grudge against you, I’ve sincerely asked to be your disciple, and you humiliate me like this?” Nan Qiu asked softly.

Lin Tian wasn’t swayed by her desolate appearance, the world is filled with people more pitiable than her.

”How did I humiliate you?” Lin Tian retorted.

”Being your maid, is that not enough?”

”It doesn’t count. I said, those are basic skills and can be considered an entry test. It allows me to understand exactly where your skills stand, and what strengths and weaknesses you have. As your teacher, I’m putting in a lot of effort for you.”

Nan Qiu was silent, watching Lin Tian, feeling more and more that he was insincere. ”If you want to understand my strength, why not fight me? I also want to see how strong you really are.”

”Fight? Here?”

”What, are you afraid?”

”You’re a woman, I’m a man, wouldn’t it be inappropriate for me to hit you?” Lin Tian asked.

”I’m not just a woman; I’m a soldier! Prepare yourself!”

With a shout, Nan Qiu’s figure vanished from sight; she tucked her arms behind her back, weaving through the wind and snow, charging at Lin Tian.

Nan Qiu started killing at the age of ten, and after sixteen, she no longer participated in any combat training. Because on the battlefield, she honed only her killing skills.

She only knew how to kill, not spar!

In almost a breath’s time, Nan Qiu had teleported to Lin Tian’s front. Although her hands were behind her back, her entire body was in a battle-ready state, especially her left hand which held a razor-sharp dagger.

Under this dagger, countless souls perished!

Finally, Nan Qiu made her move. Her right punch missed, then her right elbow aimed at Lin Tian’s heart.

This was a highly fluid motion, but when the right elbow missed as well, finally, the Swiss Army knife in her left hand was drawn. Aiming for Lin Tian’s eyes, if it hit, not only would Lin Tian be blinded, but his brain cells and tissues would also be utterly destroyed with no chance of survival.

Lin Tian casually tilted his neck, once again dodging the fatal attack.

Repeated failures did not anger Nan Qiu, but instead helped her find Lin Tian’s flaw. When he tilted his head, the bronze-skinned neck was the biggest opening!

Swish, swish, swish~

In the span of a breath, the dagger zipped back and forth more than ten times, but not once did it cut Lin Tian’s neck.

And yet, Nan Qiu felt she had a surefire chance to win. Why did this guy always manage to evade?

Lin Tian’s lips curled, revealing two rows of white teeth as he laughed, ”I’ll give you one more chance, but I must say, your speed is really too slow.”

At these words, Nan Qiu’s face flushed red. It wasn’t from shyness, but anger!

Her quick blade had never been so underestimated by anyone before. What was that annoying face laughing at? Was he laughing at her?

Thinking of this, Nan Qiu’s fury surged like an erupting volcano.

For the last strike, Nan Qiu opted for a straight stab, directly towards Lin Tian’s abdomen.

This time, her skills as an external martial artist shone through once more. The formidable burst generated by her legs instantly doubled her speed.

The dagger completely penetrated Lin Tian’s stomach, making Nan Qiu’s heart leap wildly.

This arrogant guy... how did he not dodge it? He may be bad, but not so much that he’d get stabbed through, right?

Suddenly, Nan Qiu noticed something amiss. What was wrong?

Why was her hand still cold? At this point, wasn’t Lin Tian’s hot blood supposed to stain her hand?

”Haha, your speed is still a bit slow.”

A detestable yet familiar laugh sounded. Nan Qiu looked up to see that not only was there no blood on the knife, but Lin Tian also didn’t bear any wounds. She had struck nothing but a vivid afterimage.

”Alright, now I’ve gotten a better understanding of you. Lack of explosiveness, inadequate speed, your timing was so-so. I still think your fundamental skills are lacking.” Lin Tian said.

”Hmph, why do you only dodge and not fight? Is that the extent of your skills?” Nan Qiu replied defiantly.
