The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 917: Chapter 917: Convinced Both in Heart and Words

After almost a minute, the pulse diagnosis between the two finally came to an end.

”Write it down, it’s a good opportunity for a calligraphy competition,” Han Suman suggested.

Sun Chuanrong chuckled helplessly, ”Seems like you really want to win in everything against me.”

Shortly after, Wu brought over two sets of calligraphy tools from Sun Chuanrong’s office. These were his cherished items, he had several sets in his office.

Prepare the paper, dampen the brush, raise the brush, and start writing.

Once Han Suman meticulously finished writing, she reviewed from beginning to end to ensure nothing was missed, then nodded contentedly.

When she looked up, she found Sun Chuanrong still calmly wielding his brush with his usual composed demeanor.

After a while, when the rice paper was completely filled, Sun Chuanrong put down his brush, picked up his ’work,’ blew on it, and handed it to Han Suman, saying, ”You still haven’t changed your old habits, aged and still neglecting health. The first half is the diagnosis, the latter half is the prescription. Pay attention after you return, I wouldn’t want you to die before me.”

Han Suman was taken aback.

”Let me see yours.” Without waiting for her consent, Sun Chuanrong took the rice paper Han Suman had written on.

On the rice paper, densely packed small characters were all diagnostic notes for himself.

Written very meticulously, almost all his ailments were recorded, with a final note ’only six hours of sleep.’

Sun Chuanrong smiled wryly, the diagnoses written on it were accurate, capturing all his ailments precisely. Even the six hours of sleep was spot on.

Being able to deduce all these from pulse diagnosis was already quite impressive.

”Not bad, showing improvement, more detail than before,” Sun Chuanrong remarked with a smile.

Han Suman also smiled, although it was a bitter one. ”I still lost, didn’t I?”

”You did a great job diagnosing this time, very detailed, with many issues I hadn’t noticed,” Sun Chuanrong acknowledged with a smile, trusting completely in Han Suman’s integrity, without needing further verification.

This was trust in a person’s character and her medical expertise.

”Detailed?” Han Suman shook her head with a bitter smile, ”Perhaps the diagnosis was detailed enough, but I didn’t even write a prescription.”

”You can’t be blamed, after all, you know I’m a doctor, I can tailor a suitable prescription for myself,” Sun Chuanrong said.

Han Suman looked at him curiously, ”But I’m a doctor too, I can prescribe for myself, why did you write one?”

”Just for comparison, maybe my prescription’s better?” Sun Chuanrong replied with a smile.

Han Suman felt slightly lost and then bitterly smiled, ”See, I still can’t match your meticulousness. The art of pulse diagnosis depends on being meticulous. I struggled to surpass you in diagnosis, yet fell short in attention to detail. This time, just like before, I concede willingly.”

Sun Chuanrong secretly let out a breath of relief, winning this time was really not easy. If the prescription hadn’t been written, it would at most have been a draw.

Han Suman’s gaze remained on the rice paper Sun Chuanrong had written, after a few glances, she said, ”Seems like I still can’t beat you in calligraphy either. From the moment you start writing, it’s clear you’re more nimble than I am.”

Sun Chuanrong was not surprised by this answer at all. ”In my spare time, I like practicing this, after so many years, I’ve achieved some success. You’ve probably neglected it all these years, haven’t you?”

”Not exactly, just haven’t written as much as you,”

”Alright, regardless of win or lose, we’re still old friends. It’s getting late, let me treat you to a night snack, and while we’re at it, discuss your job at my hospital.”

”Hmm, okay.”

”Uh... how about during your two-month contract, you stay at my place?” As soon as he proposed, Sun Chuanrong regretted it, was it too abrupt?

”Your wife is at home, isn’t it inconvenient?”

”Haha, I haven’t been successful in marriage, divorced quite early...”

After a pause, Sun Chuanrong continued, ”If you’re worried your husband might mind, I have another place near the hospital, it’s quite peaceful, you can stay there.”

”No problem, I’ll stay at your place. I’ve been divorced for a long time too.”

...

Kanyue City Medical University.

Yesterday was the Lantern Festival, and today the students returned to school.

As the principal, Zhao Xuefeng didn’t personally oversee the students’ return.

What he needed to do was prepare for tomorrow’s lesson.

Even after teaching for decades, Zhao Xuefeng still maintained a certain enthusiasm for the profession.

His method of maintaining enthusiasm was simple, staying flexible in thought, neither conservative nor rigid.

Traditional medicine is originally a course meant for learning and application, textbooks at most teach the basics.

Zhao Xuefeng needed to ensure the students engrain the cultural knowledge of traditional medicine deeply in their minds.

To be a qualified doctor in Zhao Xuefeng’s view, if one couldn’t pass his course, a retake was necessary.

While Zhao Xuefeng was organizing examples, his phone rang.

It was a very unfamiliar number.

He answered immediately, as it could be a call from a student or a parent.

”Hello.”

”Hello, Mr. Zhao, happy Lantern Festival.”

A very scholarly voice came through the phone, unhurried, gentle, and pleasant to the ear.

The voice was very distinctive, Zhao Xuefeng immediately recognized it and laughed, ”Is it Hua Dongxu? Oh, that’s right, I haven’t seen you for years, you’ve become my colleague. Now, I should call you Mr. Hua.”

”Haha, Mr. Zhao, you’re teasing me. I still remember the memorable lesson you gave a few years ago.” Hua Dongxu said.

Several years ago, Hua Dongxu came to Kanyue City Medical University as a student for an exchange.

The purpose of the exchange was to bridge cultural and knowledge gaps between students from two countries, foster friendship, and enhance knowledge reserves.

However, where there are people, there are dynamics.

Where there are people, there are conflicts.

The exchange culminated naturally in a debate session on the last day.

That day’s debate was intense, with heated arguments... of course, it was all healthy competition.

Initially, it was a debate among students, but somehow, teachers also got involved.

Hua Dongxu, a key debater for H Country, was on the brink of success when someone with graying hair from Kanyue City Medical University stood up and silenced Hua Dongxu within a few sentences.

Previous arguments established during the debate quickly crumbled.

The debate session was recorded on video, uploaded online, and shortly after, promoted to the front pages of major video platforms with top recommendation spots, and became quite a sensation for several days.

Almost everyone, even those not versed in medicine, watched it.

Zhao Xuefeng was already renowned in the medical community, but after the video, he became nationally famous.
