The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 916: Chapter 916: Letter of Challenge

Knock, knock, knock~

Hearing the knock on the office door, Sun Chuanrong reluctantly put down his teacup and shouted, ”Come in, the door’s not locked.”

A young nurse rushed in, holding a piece of white paper in her hand. From a distance, Sun Chuanrong could see two lines of small characters written in calligraphy on that piece of paper.

”Wu, why are you so flustered? What’s that in your hand?” Sun Chuanrong asked curiously. Usually, Wu was a steady person, not even panicking during her first surgery. So why was she flustered now?

”Dean, someone outside asked me to give this to you.” Wu placed the paper on Sun Chuanrong’s desk and, after taking a breath, said, ”I accidentally caught a glance just now, and it seems to be a challenge letter.”

”A challenge letter?”

Frowning, Sun Chuanrong quickly relaxed and laughed, ”What’s there to challenge an old guy like me for? Isn’t it you young rascals getting bored and organizing another event? Last time, on your birthday, I got a face full of cake.”

Sun Chuanrong was such an easygoing and approachable person; otherwise, he wouldn’t have offered Lin Tian the vice dean position of the Ancient Hospital right from the start.

Wu was anxious, ”Dean, I’m not joking with you. This challenge letter is from someone else. He said his name is... Han Suman.”

”Han Suman?” Hearing this name, Sun Chuanrong’s smile gradually faded.

A familiar face flashed in his mind, an old friend from South Korea. Could it be... such a coincidence?

He picked up the challenge letter, and upon seeing the small calligraphy on it, his face froze.

He was very familiar with this handwriting because it resembled his own, though it was a bit more elegant and less forceful.

Sun Chuanrong had once stayed in South Korea for three years and made some friends there. The owner of this handwriting was one of those friends he knew.

He had taught her calligraphy for three years, and to think she was using it to write him a challenge letter – the thought made Sun Chuanrong amused yet helpless.

The letter began with two lines in classical prose, which seemed unlike anything an H Country person could write, as such things belonged to the Celestial Dragon Continent.

But Sun Chuanrong knew the tone and wording were indeed from that friend from H Country, as she was very interested in the culture of the Celestial Dragon Continent.

Especially the last sentence, which was quite interesting: Regardless of winning or losing, still friends.

Additionally, there was a condition in the challenge letter; the loser must teach at the H Country Medical College for two months.

Of course, if Han Suman lost, she would also teach at Kanyue City Medical University for two months.

In Sun Chuanrong’s impression, for Han Suman to write such a formal challenge letter meant she was serious.

Furthermore, recalling the news of a medical report from a few days prior, Liu Mang had been recruited by the H Country Medical College as a teacher and would represent them, bringing students for an exchange at Kanyue City Medical University.

Was that supposedly for an exchange? Reminiscing about a similar visit a few years ago, it was clearly a provocation.

Additionally, Han Suman was also a teacher at the H Country Medical College, and now with a challenge letter issued, it was all too obvious.

Sun Chuanrong picked up a pen, intending to sign the challenge letter but then put the pen down again.

”Wu, did you just see the person who gave you the challenge letter?” Sun Chuanrong asked.

Wu nodded, ”I saw her. She should still be outside now, saying she wanted to wait for your response.”

”Hahaha.” Sun Chuanrong laughed a few times, then asked, ”Do you remember what she looks like?”

Wu nodded, saying, ”I remember, I remember. She’s quite pretty.”

”...” Sun Chuanrong said irritably, ”Did you even need to say that?”

”Haha, Dean, she’s really quite pretty. Seeing you’re so excited, is there some story between you two?” Wu asked with a smile.

”Shush, just old friends.”

”Oh~” Wu dragged the ending, ”So, old friends.”

Sun Chuanrong chuckled, too lazy to explain too much. He picked up the challenge letter and said, ”Let’s go, take me to accept the challenge.”

The challenge letter was formally issued, so naturally, a formal meeting was in order.

Sun Chuanrong specially changed into a different set of clothes and asked Wu to invite her to a small meeting room for their meeting.

Upon entering the meeting room, he found someone already sitting inside.

Sun Chuanrong examined her. Although time had passed, her appearance hadn’t changed much; she was still slender and clean-looking.

”Long time no see.” Sun Chuanrong smiled as he walked over and said, ”You’ve lost weight.”

Han Suman stood up, shook hands with Sun Chuanrong, and said in fluent Celestial Dragon Continent’s language, ”You have more wrinkles, and it seems like more white hair too.”

”Haven’t seen each other for years, I’ve aged. Let’s sit and talk.”

Saying this, Sun Chuanrong pulled out a chair, sat opposite Han Suman, placed the challenge letter on the table, and with a half-smile, said, ”After so many years, you’ve finally come to the Celestial Dragon Continent for this?”

Han Suman nodded, ”Yes.”

”I guess many of my old friends have also received your challenge letters, right?”

”Probably, you were specifically chosen by me as an opponent.” Han Suman said seriously.

In another setting, she might have been more relaxed, but there was no room for looseness in this setting.

”I don’t recall you ever beating me before.” Sun Chuanrong smiled, ”Are you confident this time?”

Han Suman shook her head, ”Confident, but not very. We’re old now; I’ve never beaten you in my life, so I fear there might not be another chance in the future, let’s compete one more time.”

”How do you want to compete?”

”As before, by diagnosing pulses.”

Hearing the anticipated answer, Sun Chuanrong burst into laughter. ”Alright!”

After a pause, Sun Chuanrong added, ”If you lose, how about becoming a doctor for two months at my hospital? The pay is negotiable.”

”Sure.”

”Haha, I’m doing this for your own good. Just imagine, with so many experts at Kanyue City Medical University, if you were to give a lecture and no one attends, wouldn’t that be awkward?” Sun Chuanrong laughed.

”Well, thank you for thinking of so much for me.” Han Suman laughed, ”Sign your name, and let’s get started.”

Sun Chuanrong didn’t dawdle, pulling out his pen, swiftly signing his name on it.

Then, the two of them extended their right hands, palms flat on the table.

After that, they extended their left hands and began to diagnose each other’s pulse.

The pulse is part of the human circulatory system, composed of the heart, blood vessels, and blood, which contains a lot of information about the human body.

Ancient medicine involves diagnosing these to determine the condition of the body.

Because of different skill levels, the results of diagnoses will differ.

This difference means some can diagnose more detailed aspects, while others can only diagnose more superficial aspects.

When a master takes action, it will be evident if they know their stuff.
