The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 528: Chapter 528: Failure Is Not Allowed

Zhao Xuefeng glanced at Zonggao and waved his hand, ”Alright, all of you sit down. I want to emphasize one more time, ancient medicine isn’t something you can master just by reading books and taking exams. Besides the required textbooks for your courses, I hope you’ll read more medical journals; whether it’s ancient or modern medicine, both will be of significant help to you.”

”Moreover, to obtain your graduation certificate, it’s not enough for your test scores to be satisfactory; your practical scores must also be up to par. I hope you take every patient and every illness seriously. Even if it’s the simplest cold, you must give it your all.”

”We are practitioners of ancient medicine! This profession is honorable! Noble! And also very dangerous. Because if we make a mistake, it will surely be an unpardonable error!”

At this point, Zhao Xuefeng was already somewhat emotional himself. As if he had thought of something, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath of fresh air to regain his composure.

After calming his excited emotions, Zhao Xuefeng continued: ”You all heard Lin Tian’s responses earlier. I don’t know what you think, but I find them very impressive. Even so, I still feel it’s necessary to explain why Lin Tian was chosen as the fifth replacement for Zonggao to attend the summit.”

Everyone immediately became tense, watching Zhao Xuefeng with a serious expression, as if there was a very important reason.

Zonggao was also holding his breath to listen. Although he was already convinced earlier, he stubbornly refused to admit it verbally.

”To discuss this, we need to start from the time when Lin Tian didn’t attend classes a while back. He wasn’t in class because he was hospitalized due to a car accident; his five organs were injured, and he had nine fractures. When he was rushed to the hospital, the doctors thought he was beyond saving. Yet, he still miraculously survived. Later, when I visited him in the hospital, I couldn’t even comprehend his condition. But he volunteered to guide me in performing acupuncture on him.”

Everyone showed a shocked expression.

”You didn’t hear wrong! He guided me in applying the needles, and the effect was phenomenal; the injured organs recovered in a day. Then he wrote a prescription himself, I helped him brew it, and after a few days of using the medicine, all nine of his fractures were healed. This is simply a miracle.”

All the students’ attention was focused on Lin Tian. Is this person a genius or a freak? How can he excel in everything?

Before their surprise ended, Zhao Xuefeng added: ”The president of Kanyue City Central Hospital, Mr. Sun Chuanrong, personally acted as Lin Tian’s attending doctor, but he didn’t qualify to treat Lin Tian. Instead, he invited Lin Tian to serve as the deputy director of the Ancient Hospital.”

”Do you think he doesn’t qualify to attend the summit?”

Everyone gasped in awe. Good heavens! If someone more impressive than Zhao Xuefeng and Sun Chuanrong isn’t qualified to attend the medical summit, then is there even a point in holding the summit?

Zonggao sat in his chair, stupefied.

What kind of monster is this?

He looks so young, but his basketball skills could make the national team, and he’s a master in ancient medicine.

I actually fought with him over a woman? This is simply like a starving dog under an office building—looking for trouble (death).

Zonggao cautiously looked towards Lin Tian, completely devoid of the previous arrogance. When his gaze met Lin Tian’s, he dodged it like a mouse encountering a cat.

Lin Tian felt somewhat helpless; the feeling of being scrutinized by everyone was impressive enough, but why do they look at me as if I’m some kind of panda?

In fact, many young girls, when looking at him, had eyes that shone with predatory flashes. They were increasingly jealous of Liou Qingcheng!

Lin Tian stood up from his chair and said, ”Teacher, maybe you shouldn’t give that summit spot to me...”

”Oh? Why?” Zhao Xuefeng raised his eyebrows slightly, appearing a bit displeased.

”Because... President Sun Chuanrong has already invited me and said the invitation would arrive soon...”

The classroom erupted once again. Can you get any more impressive?

Being invited means placing Lin Tian on a certain pedestal, making the gap between him and the students invited by Zhao Xuefeng akin to heaven and earth.

”Oh?” Zhao Xuefeng was slightly taken aback but then laughed, ”Didn’t expect that kid to act so quickly, well, then we’ll go together, shall we?”

”Of course.” Lin Tian smiled lightly and nodded.

”Hmm, then the last spot will be given to Zonggao. The date is on the fifth of next month; it isn’t far off, so get ready.” Zhao Xuefeng said.

Upon hearing these words, Zonggao’s face was full of embarrassment.

The spot he once dreamed of now feels like something unwanted by others.

Zonggao really wanted to refuse this spot because it was no longer an honor! It was humiliation!

In the end, after much struggle, Zonggao couldn’t let go of this opportunity because it was too important to him.

Next in class, Zhao Xuefeng began formally teaching.

The course was called ”Ancient Medical Diagnosis.” Frankly speaking, it was a very tedious subject.

It bridged fundamental medicine to clinical medicine, a vital part of ancient medicine.

The diagnostic methods included the four diagnoses of ’looking, listening, questioning, and feeling’.

Understanding these four diagnoses is simple, but grasping their essence is extremely difficult because not everything can be learned from books; interacting with numerous patients, and extracting knowledge from them is necessary.

Zhao Xuefeng’s lectures weren’t dull; they were rather engaging, as he seldom used textbooks but utilized the PowerPoints from his computer.

The PowerPoints included not only content from the books but also numerous case studies.

These case studies had successes and failures.

The successful cases naturally cited classics, ancient and modern, from China and abroad, involving famous doctors like Hua Tuo, Li Shizhen, Bian Que, etc.

As for the unsuccessful cases, they were almost unrelated to these famous doctors; they were either misdiagnosed or suffered from lack of skill. The consequences without exception harm both others and oneself.

The most tragic of the failed cases left a profound impression on everyone.

The patient in the case had nothing more than an ordinary cold. The practitioner, an ancient doctor over seventy years old, prescribed something including ground chicken feathers and cow dung, along with other herbs.

It was this prescription that not only failed to cure the cold but worsened the patient’s condition, eventually leading to a plague.

The plague spread through the entire village, killing everyone within two days; the stench from the bodies spread across dozens of miles.

All the students saw the photos on the PowerPoint; those villagers’ faces were green, hair sparse, and even the skin on their faces broke open.

Yet there wasn’t a single fly. They were likely killed by the plague.

Such a repulsive scene was unbearable for many, who began to gag.

Zhao Xuefeng stood upright at the podium, his voice transmitted through the microphone into everyone’s ears.

”Do you know why I’m showing you these failed cases? It’s to make you aware of dangers and to think about prevention! This way, we can avoid these human tragedies! I hope that if you really become doctors in the future, you’ll treat every patient and prescribe every medication cautiously, even the most common cold! I won’t allow failure!”
