The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 324: Chapter 324: Astonishing Speed

”This is a bit unfair, we’re completely losing our freedom!”

”Mr. Chen can’t do this, I have a wife and kids at home!”

”What kind of crap selection process is this, I want to quit!”

”It’s too late to quit now. The moment you stepped onto the rooftop meant there’s no turning back!” Chen Moxiang clapped his hands, signaling the crowd to quiet down, ”Now, the first assessment begins!”

As Chen Moxiang’s applause faded, a group of people in black lifted six safes and brought them over, placing them on six tables.

”The first assessment is to test everyone’s skills in cracking safes. These six safes have different models, with different combination locks. Each team should unlock as many as possible; the more you unlock, the greater your chances of winning this round!” Chen Moxiang finished speaking and signaled to the team at the front, ”You have ten minutes, you go first!”

”Looks like this selection process is quite strict!” Ye Feng whispered to Lin Tian on the side, being a professional thief, Ye Feng was well-informed. The differing models of these six safes inherently added to the difficulty of safe-cracking.

Imagine, opening one kind of lock compared to opening six kinds of locks isn’t as simple as one plus one equals two, especially when you only have ten minutes?

”Safe-cracking isn’t difficult at all!” Unlike Ye Feng’s worry, Lin Tian felt very relaxed; what could be easier than cracking safes for him?

”What?” Ye Feng’s mouth was agape enough to fit an egg at Lin Tian’s response.

In Ye Feng’s view, Lin Tian was only slightly better physically, and should not be very proficient at safe-cracking, but Lin Tian’s previous words completely shattered Ye Feng’s impression of him.

”Are you sure unlocking is easy?” Ye Feng believed cracking these six safes was as difficult as climbing to heaven.

”It’s as easy as eating!” Lin Tian felt he was being relatively understated.

”...” Ye Feng didn’t know what to say. If Lin Tian wasn’t bragging, this guy definitely had the talent of a super thief.

During the conversation, the first team’s ten minutes ended with only two safes opened, showing how hard opening different safes could be.

”Mr. Chen, the unlocking time is a bit short!” The leader of that team grumbled to Chen Moxiang.

”Short?” Chen Moxiang’s lips curved upwards, ”You think ten minutes is short? But if you don’t even have ten minutes when infiltrating an international artifact exhibition, wouldn’t that mean this mission will fail?”

”Six locks in ten minutes, finish each lock within two minutes, remember, this isn’t a selection, I need each of you to take it seriously!” Chen Moxiang coldly shouted to everyone present.

Chen Moxiang’s words were true; during a real action, the time available to a person or a team is very limited, a delay of even a minute or a second could mean mission failure.

So sometimes, truth be told, being a thief is really hard, requiring at least solid psychological endurance, agile skills, and quick thinking.

Chen Moxiang’s speech left the first team dejectedly standing aside because, with rational reasoning, it couldn’t be refuted, and indeed, this team lacked skills, not much to say.

Next, the second team started unlocking, with all six safes’ combination changed to ensure fairness.

Otherwise, if someone leaked the combination to the subsequent teams, wouldn’t there be suspicion of cheating?

Very quickly, it was Lin Tian’s turn. The best result of the previous five teams was five locks in ten minutes. To become first in this round meant opening all six safes.

Lin Tian led his team to the safes. Originally, Chen Moxiang was sitting on a chair; suddenly she stood up, watching Lin Tian without a blink, showing she had high hopes for him.

”Who’s going to unlock them?” Ye Feng asked Lin Tian.

Although Ye Feng wasn’t that good at unlocking, he was somewhat adept, and if Lin Tian was bragging earlier, it might be better for him to try.

Better for him to try than a rookie who might embarrass himself, right?

”I’ll unlock them!” Lin Tian naturally chose to step forward because during the earlier teams’ safe-cracking, he had observed the six safes thoroughly.

Therefore, to him, opening the safes’ combination locks is as easy as eating!

Lin Tian stood before the first safe, effortlessly fiddled a bit, and the safe door opened.

The second safe was similarly easy, like using a remote control, and then the safe door opened.

This scene stunned everyone around, this... this was too incredible!

Beyond the sky, above the people, it was now that those who thought their safe-cracking skills were great realized the true meaning of that phrase upon seeing Lin Tian.

Strong, unbelievably strong!

Incredibly terrifying!

Lin Tian was already on the fifth lock, but he had only spent five minutes, what kind of concept was this?

The best the other teams did was five locks in ten minutes, averaging two minutes per lock, this was just crushing!

”Gulp!” Ye Feng was stunned; seeing Lin Tian’s speed, it felt like what he said earlier wasn’t a brag!

”This amazing?” Even as a skilled locksmith herself, Chen Moxiang knew Lin Tian’s difficulty in achieving this level, it looked easy but was hard to execute.

Seven minutes for six locks was Lin Tian’s final time.

This terrifying time was unbeatable.

”I knew I wasn’t wrong about him!” Chen Moxiang had unknowingly come beside Lin Tian and said satisfactorily.

”Isn’t it a bit early to say this, having just passed the first assessment?” Lin Tian joked.

”That depends on your performance next!” Chen Moxiang smiled, then turned serious, looking at the group, ”The first assessment ends; I don’t need to say who the first is. You all have seen it, next is the second assessment!”

Chen Moxiang pointed to a high-rise building opposite Fuyuan Building, ”Do you see the red flag over there?”

Everyone looked in the direction Chen Moxiang indicated, seeing a small red flag on the rooftop of the opposite building, fluttering in the wind.

”Got it!” Someone replied.

”The second assessment is each team figuring out a way to get two people to the other side!” After announcing the assessment, Chen Moxiang added, ”This time, six teams go at once, preparation time is five minutes, whoever gets there first wins!”

With these words, the six teams huddled together, whispering to discuss how to get to the rooftop of the opposite building...
