The Delicate Darling with Her Rough Man

Mrs. Sun returned to her room, unable to sit still. The men were still out working in the fields! They didn’t know what had happened at home yet. If her husband found out that his sister-in-law wanted to split the family because of their daughter, all hell would break loose again.

With this in mind, Mrs. Sun forced a smile and went to the door of the first branch’s room.

”Sister-in-law, don’t be angry. I won’t go looking for trouble with Gu Jiaojiao, alright? Mom and Dad are still with us, how can you talk about splitting the family!”

There was no response from the first branch’s room.

Li Cuilian had only brought up splitting the family in the heat of the moment.

The main issue was that Mrs. Sun wanted to confront Gu Jiaojiao. If she angered her, and Gu Jiaojiao stopped letting them use the machinery, it would be their first branch that suffered the consequences.

But after going back inside and thinking it over, she decided that splitting the family was absolutely necessary.

’So what if I stopped her today? What about tomorrow?

The day after?

Who has the time to watch the second branch’s people every single day?

With Sun Yeshu’s spoiled-rotten attitude, there’s no telling when she’ll do something to drag the whole family down.’

The more she thought about it, the more likely it seemed.

Li Cuilian felt that splitting the family was a must.

She didn’t mind working a little harder herself, but she had lived her whole life for her children. Why should her sons have to suffer because Sun Yeshu dragged them down?

When Eldest Sun got back from work, he was about to wash his hands when Li Cuilian called him into their room.

When Mrs. Sun saw this, her expression turned cold.

’This sister-in-law always makes a mountain out of a molehill. I’m going after Gu Jiaojiao, not one of her relatives. Why is she so nosy?’

When Sun Laoer returned, he sat in the courtyard and started smoking.

He had to admit, with the new tools, the work wasn’t tiring at all anymore.

The first branch murmured amongst themselves for a long time. When they finally came out, Eldest Sun’s face was grim, but Li Cuilian’s expression had softened considerably.

At noon, the first branch of the Sun family proposed to split.

Hearing this, Sun Laoer was so startled he nearly jumped out of his seat.

The two brothers got into an argument.

The old couple were getting on in years and didn’t want to split, but the first branch was resolute. Realizing they still depended on the first branch for care, the elderly parents could only agree in the end.

And just like that, without even stopping for lunch, they called over the production brigade leader and the village chief.

The news that a family was splitting while the parents were still alive spread quickly, and the neighbors all gathered around to watch the commotion.

Someone sidled up to one of the Sun family’s neighbors and asked in a low voice, ”What’s going on? Why are they suddenly splitting up when everything seemed fine?”

That neighbor had heard the whole thing and didn’t hold back.

”What else could it be? Sun Yeshu got pushed around outside and insisted it was that Gu Zhiqing’s fault. When Cuilian said a fair word, she and her mother ganged up on her.”

”One accused her of not caring for her juniors, the other said she was unlucky. If you ask me, that daughter of the Sun family is completely spoiled. Her sister-in-law is getting a divorce because of her, and now her own family is splitting up because of her. She’s a real troublemaker.”

Sun Yeshu hadn’t expected them to actually split the family, but she figured it was for the best. After all, she didn’t like her aunt anyway.

’But my aunt is the one who wanted to split the family, so how did it become my fault?’

Sun Yeshu couldn’t hold back any longer and roared at the neighbor.

”Stop spouting nonsense! You’re the troublemaker! My aunt is the one who wants to split, I didn’t say anything! How can you say that about me?”

The first branch was left speechless.

Any lingering guilt they might have felt now vanished.

The aunt’s face was cold. ”That’s right, I’m the one who wants to split. Let’s get it over with. From now on, the first branch and the second branch will have nothing to do with each other.”

She was thoroughly disheartened.

’I have no daughters of my own, so I’ve always doted on this niece, giving her the best treats since she was little. But from childhood, her own mother goaded her to keep her distance. I could let that slide, but now the girl has become utterly ill-mannered.’

’The sooner they split, the better.’

The first branch had no intention of continuing to share a courtyard with the second. They were determined to move out.

However, whichever branch took the old house would also take in the parents.
