The Delicate Darling with Her Rough Man

The school.

It was Gu Jiaojiao’s third day of work.

The new teacher had taken leave again!

This time, the other teachers were fed up.

This new teacher was putting on way too many airs. Their school was already short-staffed; they wouldn’t have hired another teacher if they weren’t completely swamped.

But now that they had actually hired a new teacher...

He had taken three consecutive days off.

In this day and age, you didn’t leave your post unless you were sick. What was the deal with this new teacher, skipping class every day?

Everyone went to the principal together to report the situation and demand an explanation.

The principal was so worried he felt like he was tearing his hair out.

This An Dongyang had been forced on him by the higher-ups. He hadn’t been satisfied with the arrangement and didn’t want him in the first place.

But the school didn’t have enough desks. Many students had nothing to use, and some desks were wobbly, propped up with rocks underneath.

He needed money to have a new batch of desks made.

The principal submitted a funding application but heard nothing back. Only after he made several trips to their office did they finally relent.

The catch was, he had to take on a teacher they wanted to place.

What could the principal do? For the sake of the children’s desks and chairs, he could only agree.

However, since they went through with the hiring exam, he naturally had to take a look at the results.

He looked over the candidates’ exam papers and found them all to be rather average. It wasn’t until he saw Gu Jiaojiao’s that he was truly impressed. He immediately began filing applications, requesting to hire one more teacher.

How could the higher-ups possibly agree?

One more teacher meant one more salary and one more subsidy to pay.

But the principal was determined. He submitted three separate reports until the higher-ups, unable to do anything about him, finally gave in.

Now, he was grateful for his decision.

Otherwise, there would be a class right now with no one to teach it.

The principal had Gu Jiaojiao substitute for the class and, while he was at it, processed her conversion to a permanent employee.

He told her to focus on teaching and put her mind at ease.

Gu Jiaojiao didn’t mind either way. She was just a teaching assistant, after all—a spare hand to be moved wherever she was needed.

「In the County Town」

An Dongyang hadn’t gone to class. Instead, he had the leisure to wait for Xu Wenwan at a street corner.

When the two met, they blushed like a pair of teenagers experiencing their first crush.

Xu Wenwan pulled her scarf up a little, hiding one cheek that was noticeably redder than the other.

Yun Hao had put some force into that slap. Thankfully, it hadn’t swollen up, but it was much redder than her other cheek.

An Dongyang didn’t notice at first. It was only when he saw her keep pulling up her scarf that he realized something was wrong.

After he asked, he finally saw that half of Xu Wenwan’s face was extremely red. It was obvious she had been hit, and he instantly grew furious.

But Xu Wenwan just started to cry.

She said she was already married and that her husband had hit her.

An Dongyang: ???

He hadn’t known this. They had only met for coffee yesterday so he could apologize, but during their conversation, he’d discovered that Xu Wenwan had unique insights and a remarkably clear understanding of the current state of affairs.

A girl so intelligent and beautiful—An Dongyang was smitten at once.

So, he had ”accidentally” damaged an item of her clothing and promised to meet her this morning to compensate her with a new one.

However, the style of her clothes was quite unique, and it might not be available off the rack.

Xu Wenwan initially refused but eventually agreed with some reluctance.

As for the clothes, as long as Xu Wenwan picked something she liked, he would pay for it.

The girl he was preparing to pursue had suddenly turned into a married woman. For a moment, An Dongyang found it hard to accept.

’How did it turn out like this?’

He was a player, sure. He’d even been with young, beautiful widows. But he had never, ever touched a married woman.

Even though An Dongyang liked to fool around, he still had some sense. Xu Wenwan was beautiful, but if she had a husband and they were discovered, it would be huge trouble.

He had been sent to this small County Town because his father had made a mistake. If he messed up again, he wouldn’t be able to answer to the main family. An Dongyang subconsciously took two steps back.
