Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

Just before the five Great Emperors arrived, Chu Sheng’s consciousness had entered the Primordial Grotto Heaven. The first thing he did was take out the core from the Ancestral Hall and attempt to bring it into contact with the Time Trace Hourglass.

As it turned out, Yao hadn’t lied to him.

The moment the two made contact, the Time Trace Hourglass was successfully activated.

The solidified fragment of time within the hourglass dissolved into streams of light, which finally converged into the phantom image of ”Gu Yuexi” standing before him.

Just now, Chu Sheng had only managed to ask her one question.

”Whoa... who are you?”

The figure replied, ”My title is Shi Xi.”

Before he could ask more, he sensed the arrival of the five Great Emperors in the outside world, forcing him to cut the conversation short and leave the grotto-heaven.

And if those Emperors had truly decided to attack him just now, this would have been his only trump card for escape.

Now that the crisis was over, he could finally return and get some clear answers.

Looking at Immortal Venerable Shi Xi before him, Chu Sheng eagerly sent his question using his Soul Power.

”Senior, what exactly is your relationship with Gu Yuexi? And, the Spirit Realm...”

However, Immortal Venerable Shi Xi interrupted him.

Her gaze swept over Chu Sheng, her brow furrowed slightly, and her tone carried a clear hint of surprise.

”The legacy I left behind... was ultimately obtained by a Mosquito Beast?”

”This is truly... unexpected.”

In her eyes, there was no contempt, only pure curiosity and confusion.

Suddenly, as if remembering something, she stared at Chu Sheng for a moment before speaking slowly.

”I feel like... I’ve seen you before.”

”I see now... You’re that little bug.”

”Back then... you carried the aura of the reincarnation of my remnant soul.”

”Your relationship should be that of a Contracted Beast and its Master.”

”Now... why is it gone?”

Chu Sheng was stunned for a moment.

’She’s seen me?’

He suddenly remembered. The last time, deep within the Celestial Trace Abyss, he had been pulled by that mysterious stone stele into a memory belonging to an Emperor Realm expert from the ancient era, ”Xiao Hei.”

In that memory, it seemed Immortal Venerable Shi Xi had peered through Xiao Hei’s eyes and seen him, who was ten thousand years in the future.

She had even gifted him a wisp of pure Divine Soul Energy across time and space.

He still hadn’t finished absorbing this Divine Soul Energy.

’So that’s it!’

But just as Chu Sheng was about to explain, Immortal Venerable Shi Xi’s expression suddenly changed.

An utterly terrifying killing intent erupted from her without any warning!

This killing intent was even more terrifying than the pressure from the five Great Emperors combined!

Chu Sheng felt his very soul tremble violently under this killing intent, as if it could be crushed into pieces at any moment!

”The Beast Tamer’s soul imprint is gone... Did you devour your Master?!”

Immortal Venerable Shi Xi’s voice held nothing but a chill that could freeze the soul.

”What? No!” Chu Sheng yelped, startled. He frantically explained everything he had experienced in the Witch Ancestral Land as quickly as possible.

”Uh... um... and then three women from the Spirit Realm appeared and forcibly took Gu Yuexi away! They also said...”

Immortal Venerable Shi Xi listened quietly, seemingly able to easily discern the truth or falsehood in Chu Sheng’s words.

A moment later, the terrifying killing intent slowly receded.

’So it was people from the Spirit Realm...’

Immortal Venerable Shi Xi’s tone returned to calm, but Chu Sheng could feel a subtle fluctuation in her emotions.

Seeing this, Chu Sheng hurriedly pressed on.

”Senior! So what exactly is the Spirit Realm? How do I get there? I have to save Gu Yuexi!”

Immortal Venerable Shi Xi pondered for a moment before speaking slowly.

”I know the way to the Spirit Realm.”

”On Blue Star, there are still quite a few spatial passages to the Spirit Realm left behind from ten thousand years ago.”

”However, you cannot go there now.”

”Let alone you, even someone at the Peak of the Emperor Realm cannot pass through those passages safely.”

”You must at least... reach the Divine Realm to have that capability.”

”The Divine Realm?!”

Chu Sheng was completely dumbfounded.

He couldn’t help but retort, ”Wait, Senior, are you mistaken about something?”

”You yourself placed the Forbidden God Law over all of Blue Star, making it impossible for any Divine Realm experts to be born!”

”Isn’t that a contradiction?”

Immortal Venerable Shi Xi gave him a faint glance.

”The Forbidden God Law was indeed laid down by this Immortal Venerable ten thousand years ago.”

”It was a measure of last resort.”

”If not for this restriction, Blue Star would have long been conquered by the Divine Realm experts of the Alien Races.”

”Now, only those at the Emperor Realm from the Alien Races can enter Blue Star, and Blue Star only has Emperor Realm experts as well. This is the only way both sides can barely maintain a fragile balance.”

Chu Sheng was still confused. ”But how long can this Forbidden God Law hold? What if it fails one day? If Divine Realm experts from the Alien Races—or some other random invaders—get in, and Blue Star only has Emperor Realm experts, wouldn’t we be finished anyway?”

”You are correct.”

Immortal Venerable Shi Xi nodded.

”That is why I condensed my own comprehension of the Time Law into this time fragment and stored it within this Time Trace Hourglass.”

”I fused my life’s memories and legacy, as well as... the method to defy the Forbidden God Law and achieve the Divine Realm on Blue Star, into it.”

”I left this Time Trace Hourglass deep within a Half-Secret Realm I created, waiting for a successor to retrieve it.”

”This way, under the protection of the Forbidden God Law, the Human Race could give birth to its own Divine Realm expert and possess the true power to contend with the Alien Races.”

”Before my fall back then, I also used the Time Law to send a wisp of my remnant soul ten thousand years into the future to be reincarnated and cultivate anew. That person is your Master, Gu Yuexi.”

”The time fragment within this Time Trace Hourglass has a fated connection with your Master. She was the one most likely to obtain it.”

”And that is indeed what happened. She obtained this Time Trace Hourglass in two consecutive lives.”

”As long as she could comprehend even a sliver of the Time Law, she could have opened this time fragment, received my legacy, and obtained the method to ascend to the Divine Realm.”

At this point, a hint of confusion crept into Immortal Venerable Shi Xi’s tone.

”But... why has she never managed to comprehend the Time Law?”

”Fortunately, although your Master fell in her previous life, she had obtained the Time Trace Hourglass before her demise. The power of the time fragment I left inside saved her once, giving her the chance to be reborn.”

”Otherwise, none of this would be happening now...”

Chu Sheng listened, completely stunned.

’This is way too much information!’

’He felt like his mosquito brain was overloading.’

’So she really was the one who set up the Forbidden God Law, all to prevent Divine Realm experts from the Alien Races from invading Blue Star? And the Little Empress really is the reincarnation of a wisp of her soul, one she deliberately sent 10,000 years into the future using the Time Law before she fell? So Secret Realm Zero was created by her? The time fragment in the Time Trace Hourglass is a legacy she left for future generations, and it even contains the method to become a god under the Forbidden God Law? Was the whole point of all this to allow the Human Race to produce its own Divine Realm expert 10,000 years later, to have a trump card against the Alien Races? The Little Empress was able to get the Time Trace Hourglass in her past life because they share the same origin—a guidance of fate? But for some unknown reason, the Little Empress never comprehended the Time Law, so she couldn’t unlock the legacy, which is why she failed to become a god in her past life... But after she fell, she was saved by the power within the Time Trace Hourglass, and that’s how she was reborn into this life?’

Hiss...

Chu Sheng felt that all of this was like an incomparably vast game of chess that spanned ten thousand years.

And this Immortal Venerable Shi Xi was the one playing it.

He still had many more questions he wanted to ask.

For example, what was the relationship between this Immortal Venerable and the Witch Race? Why was her legacy left inside the Time Trace Hourglass, a sacred artifact of the Witch Race?

Immortal Venerable Shi Xi seemed to have seen through his thoughts and spoke faintly.

”I do indeed have some history with the Witch Race.”
