Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Everyone sticks to their roles, and during spring planting this year, everyone still pitched in. Initially, according to Li Yungui’s idea, it was to let the children continue their studies. But Jiang Xinyu refused.

There have been signs of the educated youths returning home this year. Some people have applied, and as long as they have been performing well, the village stamped their applications and about 80% passed. This way, their minds have become more flexible, and they put in a lot of effort to show their performance.

Li Yungui also heard about this news, so he refused the gifts from the educated youths, and he very candidly gave every educated youth a good review.

By this year, fifteen educated youths had left before the wheat harvest, and those remaining still had some little thoughts, wanting to stay and earn work points. After all, in Li Family Village, the work points are connected to dividends, which amount to as much as 500 yuan in a year.

Tao Chunhe received notice from his home and also brought his wife and children back. Over in the Capital, the household registration of Tao YanZhen and the two children was transferred to the Capital.

Her application was also approved. Yang Yujie originally didn’t want to leave, but the family notified them to return with the little aunt, and someone from home had already been sent to pick them up.

”Aunt Wei, I don’t want to leave. It’s so good to study here.”

Zhenyu nodded vigorously beside her.

Jiang Xinyu smiled and patted Yang Yujie who was leaning on her shoulder, ”You’ve already reviewed high school textbooks once here already. Studying by yourself back home is the same.

To be honest, the educated youths can go back now, and I estimate they can apply for rehabilitation too, after all, these few people here didn’t have any real big issues, otherwise, their situation wouldn’t have been just simple placement. They’d have been sent to labor on farms for reformation.”

”Then Aunt Wei, when will you go back?” Yujie knew Feifei and the others had their household registration in the Capital.

”I don’t know yet; we can’t delay things for others because of our own situation.”

”Mm, I understand, I’ll wait for you in the Capital.”

Old Yang maneuvered it so that the Zhao Family siblings and their three kids’ household registration were also transferred to the Capital.

Wen Zhenzong and the others got the news too; their minds have become flexible as well. At this age, they certainly want to return to their roots.

Even though life in Li Family Village these past years has been very good, the attachment to going home and the concern about family are something that can’t be erased.

The eight of them approached Li Yungui to express their ideas.

In such matters, Li Yungui wouldn’t refuse and very straightforwardly agreed with them.

He gave each one of them very high evaluations.

”Dear, what’s this about?” Qu Xiaoli returned and saw her husband lying on the kang, which rarely happens, so she was a bit scared.

”They’re all about to leave. The educated youths are leaving, and those temporarily placed are also leaving. I guess Xiao Wei and the others are going to leave too.”

”Isn’t this normal? Xiao Wei and the others have been here for so many years.”

”Sigh, I just can’t bear it. Our village is what it is today all thanks to them.”

”It’s okay. We can still continue in the future. It’s not like their leaving means the farm and the winery will be gone.

It’s just a bit troublesome if the in-laws leave too.

Stop guessing here and ask Xiao Wei about it.”

Li Yungui suddenly sat up, ”Yes, I’ll go ask Xiao Wei and the others. I think they won’t just leave like that. They must have arrangements.”

”That’s right, go ahead, stop overthinking things at home.”

Li Yungui went directly to the winery to find Wei Kaiyun, Old Yang, and Lv Beiguang.

”Xiao Wei, Old Yang, dear in-laws, are you also planning to leave?”

Wei Kaiyun nodded with a smile, ”Yes, our two families are leaving, but your in-laws will stay to continue brewing wine.”

They had discussed this a few days ago. Lv Beiguang and his family of five decided to stay on because nowhere else offers such convenient conditions. Now the wine sales are booming; they truly don’t want to give it up. Besides, as Wei Kaiyun mentioned, Lv Beiguang wishes to earn more money for his children, given his age. He’s worried that once they truly age, they might not have anything to leave behind for them.

Li Yungui felt a bit more secure having received this good news.

Wei Kaiyun could see it too, ”Village Chief Li, as long as the farm keeps following this model, there should be no major problems. I think Doctor Liu will certainly take care of everything before leaving.”

”Xiao Wei, when are you leaving?”

”We are leaving in July.”

”A little over a month left?”

Wei Kaiyun nodded with a smile, ”Yes, it’s time for us to go back.”

Li Yungui wasn’t in high spirits but knew it was the best outcome; at least Lv Beiguang was staying.

Even though the winery can do without Lv Beiguang now, having him around brings reassurance.

Old Yang looked at Wei Kaiyun and laughed, ”If Village Chief Li were a woman, I bet Xiao Jiang would get jealous with this reluctance to part.”

Wei Kaiyun just laughed. It’s normal for Li Yungui to not want them to leave, given how he’s been used to their guidance. However, now he’ll have to make decisions on his own.

Lv Beiguang felt settled, as both Guodong and Jing Chu’s arrangements are done, their household registration is now in the Capital, so he’s not worried even if they are not together. Moreover, Xinyu is by their side.

So even if they get enrolled in universities outside the capital in the future, it’s not a concern. They have families now, and certainly, they’ll discuss with their partners.

At night, Lv Beiguang returned home, and Yang Xiuqin felt she should express her thoughts.

”Beiguang, why not let the three children follow and go back? Let Xinyu help find someone to take care of them.

I’m thinking since the children’s household registration is now in the Capital; it might be best to let them go over.

After all, there’s a master there, and the education over there must be better than here. I’m worried the kids might be held back by staying with us.”

Lv Beiguang frowned, ”But Yixin is only three years old.”

”Beiguang, why don’t you ask for the children’s views? Now the three of them and Jing Chen learn from Master Wu and Master Shang every day. Maybe you should listen to their opinions?”

Lv Beiguang nodded, ”Alright, let’s go back together.” Actually, Lv Beiguang knew well; the kids have been staying at home since last year, eating at Xinyu’s place every day. Even if he asks, he doubts they’d be willing to stay.

But Lv Beiguang feels that children should grow up around their parents.

”Xiuxiu, don’t you want to stay here either?”

”It doesn’t matter to me. Wherever you are is where I want to be.”

Lv Beiguang was glad about this; even if the kids aren’t around, at least he has his wife with him, doesn’t he? The little bit of gloominess also dissipated.

Previously, he lived alone for many years without fear, but now he’s frightened, scared of being alone, scared of loneliness.

Lv Beiguang frowned, finally told himself, it’s simply because he’s getting older and no longer wants solitude.
