The Broken Halo

’The extra two arms of a Morveth has the ability to turn into weapons, but they can only turn into a single weapon.’

’A Morveth would have to choose what weapon path they want to take before they turn sixteen, and since the First Blade has chosen the blade, his extra arms can turn into swords.’

’And he seems to have a fire affinity like his disciple too… and that sword he’s holding is a Peak Sovereign ranked sword.’

’Now that I have a Low Sovereign ranked sword in my hand, I wonder how much money I’d make if I also sold a Peak Sovereign ranked sword.’

’Would I be richer than that brat called Sunless?’

Unfortunately for Simon, he had no idea, but the answer was no.

After observing the First Blade, he decided to take a look at his surroundings, and his eyes widened slightly when he saw the massive cut that nearly split the southern seats of the Death Arena.

’I’m just a Fiend, old man, you didn’t even hold back most of your power when you attempted to kill me.’

He wanted to shake his head but he suddenly felt dizzy and exhausted, then he coughed out a mouthful of blood, staining Ormon’s shirtless chest due to the fact that he was being carried on the Raksha’s shoulder.

“That’s right. You’re dying. You need to be treated fast.”

Ormon finally broke the silence between him and the First Blade.

He looked at the First Blade.

“Hey, old man. This child won the duel fair and square. Why do you want to kill him for winning against your weak and pathetic disciple?”

The black eyes of the First Blade flashed with even more fury, and he could not help but take a glance at Simon who had just cough out a mouthful of blood and was weaker than before.

“Why are you helping him, Ormon? He’s a damned slave. A fucking damned slave!”

Ormon chuckled, then he raised the two fingers of his lower left arm.

“One, he impressed me in this match. Two. He finally saw the light and told me how wonderful breasts are over ass.”

The First Blade looked at Ormon with an incredulous expression, and the demons who also heard Ormon’s words had the same expressions.

“You’re protecting him from me because of those absurd and foolish reasons?”

Ormon lowered his hand, and his eyes became serious.

“Breasts are not absurd or foolish.”

He looked at the female demon who was calmly resting on his other shoulder, her breasts still hanging out.

He used one of his free hands, then he grabbed it and squeezed, causing the female demon to release a quiet moan.

“How can you call these works of art foolish or absurd?”

He let go of the breasts and pointed at the First Blade.

“Old man, maybe you didn’t suck any titties when you were younger so you don’t know how wonderful they are. Suck the titties of some old hag, and see how life becomes more enjoyable for you.”

“But don’t suck the titties of no young woman, your disgusting old mouth would ruin those wonderful creations.”

Those who had no idea of Ormon’s personality were stunned, and even First Blade who already knew about Ormon did not know how to react.

Was he angry about what he said?

As a male demon who was very conscious about his age… yes.

But he didn’t care about it.

No.

His fury was directed at Simon and a few other persons like Korth and his brother.

He wanted their head.

And he wanted Simon’s head first.

But Ormon was a major problem for him.

Many demons might not know and might believe that Ormon was just a Supreme Greater Demon like he was, but as an experienced Greater Demon who has been a Supreme Greater Demon for decades, he knew that Ormon was half-step into reaching the realm of the Demon Lords.

He was old, and he had lived out his full potential.

No matter how hard he tries, he could not break the barrier between the realm of Greater Demons and that of the Demon Lords.

If he fought Ormon, the chances of him losing was extremely high.

But…

He looked at the corpse of his disciple, and the fury in his eyes burned the more.

The hole in his chest and heart, the missing arm, and the thick veins on his neck were all reflected in his pupils.

’All my decades of planning has gone to waste.’

’Everything!’

’All because of a single mistake! A single slip-up!’

’He was supposed to be my vessel. I was meant to take over his body and use it to become a Demon Lord! And maybe even a Demon King!’

’And this bastard fucking destroyed Blackblade’s Demon Heart, so I can’t even benefit from it at all!’

’And everything has been set up! Everything!’

’Even the process of evolving his bloodline from a Supreme Noble Bloodline to a Royal Bloodline has been set up.’

’But everything is now a waste! EVERYTHING!’

’Damn it!’

’DAMN IT ALLLL!!!!!’

Care?

Love?

Compassion?

What was all of that to the First Blade?

Many might think that the reason why the First Blade was trying to kill Simon is because he cared for his disciple.

But this was completely wrong.

The First Blade did not want to die, and even if he was going to die, he did not want to die as a mere Greater Demon.

He desired power, and the difference between a Demon Lord and a Greater Demon was extremely vast.

Even with his vast experience, he always had to run from even a Minor Demon Lord because of the power they possessed.

His obsession for power and life made him to stumble upon an ancient text that taught him a ritual on how to cheat death and change his fate.

And Blackblade was meant to be the sacrificial lamb for this.

Many demons believed that he took in Blackblade as his disciple because he wanted to pass on his techniques before he died, leaving behind a legacy.

How foolish and naive of them.

Korth also believed this was why the old man was so furious- because of compassion, but Korth’s brother already knew the plans of the First Blade.

Just like Korth said, the First Blade had something he wanted, and since the old man was being stubborn, he would get back at the old man in the most painful way.

The old man would learn not to defy him, and he would learn the hard way.

If Simon had not used so much of his mental energy and was not in such a terrible condition when he was in the eye of the tornado of flaming swords, he would have come to this realization from the moment he saw how easily the First Blade was able to take control of Blackblade’s body after he held the sovereign ranked sword.
