Fully Leveled Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1658: Chapter 1658: Yuan Gui’s Ordeal

A vine tied around the waist?

Shu Yu and Meng Yunzheng were both startled when they heard Yuan Gui laugh bitterly and say, “At the time, I fell with him, so when he was pulled into that protruding cave, I was almost pulled in too. But halfway there, Jiang Kuanyu glanced at me, intent on kicking me down.”

Unfortunately, despite being shocked, Yuan Gui still clung onto him, until one of the two people welcoming Jiang Kuanyu at the cave’s entrance shot an arrow at him.

Yuan Gui couldn’t hold on and eventually fell off the cliff.

“I was lucky. As I dangled in midair, my body swaying, that arrow didn’t hit a vital spot. And as I fell, because part of me was pulled inward, I nearly fell against the edge of the cliff. Many extending trees grew alongside it, and as I fell, they blocked me several times, reducing the impact.”

Therefore, while gravely injured, life’s fortune allowed him to survive.

Shu Yu asked, “I heard that the Jiang family and the escorts from the escort agency and the authorities went down the mountain to search, only to find bloody clothes and flesh pieces, what happened?”

“Whether they came down looking for me, I don’t know, but Jiang Kuanyu and his cohorts came down earlier. When I first fell to the bottom of the cliff, I passed out and later woke up from the pain when wolves were biting me.”

Yuan Gui pulled up his sleeve, and Meng Qi gasped.

On his wrist was a huge scar, a piece of flesh seemingly bitten off, and even though the scar had healed, one could still vividly imagine the bloody mess it once was.

“Upon waking, that wolf realized I was still alive and backed up a few steps. Seeing I was too injured to move, it wanted to come back and bite me again. Just then, sound of fighting and other wolves howling came from behind, causing the wolf to turn away and run off.”

At that moment, Yuan Gui truly thought he was going to die and hid with his last ounce of strength.

Soon, the sound of fighting moved towards him, and he saw Jiang Kuanyu and several others fighting with a few wolves.

Both sides suffered losses, and later, two wolves were killed, and Jiang Kuanyu and his people left.

“As for the blood-stained clothes and flesh pieces Monarch Lu Xiang mentioned, they could be mine, or perhaps belong to Jiang Kuanyu’s accomplices. Plus, to make others believe he had fallen off a cliff and been eaten by beasts, Jiang Kuanyu did some maneuvering, which also inadvertently confirmed my death.”

Shu Yu suddenly understood, “So Jiang Kuanyu wasn’t sure if you were dead, but there were so many wolves around at the time, with one having bitten you, he must have figured you were eaten?”

“Perhaps.” Even if Jiang Kuanyu suspected he was still alive, he didn’t have the opportunity or time to come looking for him.

Later, since Yuan Gui didn’t return to Dongan Province or show up nearby, Jiang Kuanyu likely assumed he was truly dead.

Come to think of it, being shot by an arrow, falling from such a high cliff, and encountering a wolf pack, how tough would his life have to be to survive that?

And yet, Yuan Gui was indeed still alive.

“What happened afterward, how were you rescued?”

“I know a bit about medicine and gave myself some first aid. But at that time, the injuries were severe. Honestly, being alive was truly a mercy from heaven, and I left it to fate. But the cliff bottom was indeed too dangerous to stay for long. I later crawled to a riverbank, saw a dilapidated bamboo raft not far away, climbed onto it, and floated away with it.”
