Fully Leveled Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1616: Chapter 1616: Lightning Speed

Just as the old lady stepped into the courtyard, a sudden cry of ‘wah’ came from inside.

The people who hurried to the courtyard were momentarily stunned, looking at each other in disbelief.

“Did… did she give birth already??” This was way too fast; she hadn’t even had time to catch her breath.

A voice came from inside, “Is the hot water ready?”

“It’s here, it’s here.” One of the old women behind the old lady carried the water into the room.

The next moment, Shu Yu came out of the room, and the old lady grabbed her hand energetically, “Did your sister give birth? How is she, is everything okay?”

“It’s all fine, all fine, Grandma, my sister had a little nephew for me.” Shu Yu couldn’t suppress her smile.

“What do you mean for you?” The old lady glared at her in mock annoyance, but she sighed in relief, “It’s a boy? How did it happen so fast?”

“I was amazed too,” Shu Yu exclaimed, “My brother-in-law just coached her on breathing and told her to push, and after just a few times, the baby came out.”

Compared to Zhou Qiao, Shuyou’s delivery was incredibly quick.

The old lady clapped her hands and laughed, “Quick is good; your sister suffered less, and as long as the baby is healthy, that’s all that matters. This is thanks to Zhao Xi’s efforts. In the past few months, no matter how busy he was, he always took your sister out for walks and adjusted her diet. Otherwise, if the baby grew too big, it would be hard to deliver.”

The old lady wanted to go inside to see, but she had come in such a hurry that she was covered in dust from the kitchen, which made it inappropriate to enter.

Fortunately, shortly after, the midwife came out with the baby, smiling, “Congratulations, congratulations, Mrs. Zhao had a little Young Master. Look at this little one’s handsome features, he inherited all the good traits of his parents.”

The old lady stepped forward to look at the little one wrapped up, his small face scrunched up with closed eyes, not showing any handsome features that she could see.

But the midwife’s words made her happy, and the old lady immediately rewarded her with a string of coins.

The midwife’s eyes lit up, and even more praise flowed from her mouth. Earlier in the room, Doctor Zhao had already given her money, and now the old lady again, the Lu family was certainly generous.

Looking forward to the baby’s naming ceremony, there would surely be more gifts.

The old lady, satisfied, instructed the midwife to take the baby back inside to avoid the wind.

Then she took Lanhua and Yu Fenglin to the neighboring courtyard to chat.

The family’s celebrations were one after another, and the old lady was in exceptionally good spirits.

When Lu Erbai, Madam Ruan, and others arrived back upon hearing the news, they stood bewildered in their daughter’s courtyard, staring at the silent door.

Their hearts skipped a beat, why was there no sound? Could something have gone wrong?

Madam Ruan, her face filled with fear, was about to rush inside.

Zhao Xi came out just in time to stop them, whispering, “Father, Mother, Ah You just fell asleep. Let her rest and you can see her when she wakes up.”

Madam Ruan was taken aback, “Didn’t you say Ah You was in labor? Why is she sleeping, isn’t she giving birth?”

“…” Zhao Xi could see his mother-in-law was panicking and speaking incoherently, so he explained with a smile, “It’s already done, it’s a baby boy. Would you like to see him? I’ll bring the child out.”

Lu Erbai was shocked, “Already born?”

They had rushed back as soon as they received the news, the servant reporting just moments after labor started, and their return took no more than a half-hour.

Can childbirth really be this fast now?

Madam Ruan, realizing the situation, immediately asked gleefully, “So Ah You didn’t suffer much? She had a boy? How much does he weigh? Who does he look like…”
