Chapter 847: Chapter 847 Sanya’s Apprenticeship

Shu Yu looked up suspiciously, and seeing this, Sanya couldn’t help but turn her head too, her little face slightly surprised.

Doctor Xie nodded her head towards her, then stood still in front of Shu Yu, silently sizing her up for a moment before asking softly, “Are you Sanya’s sister?”

“Yes,” Shu Yu nodded. “Is there something you wanted from me, Doctor Xie?”

Doctor Xie had always been cold and indifferent, but her gaze softened when she looked at Sanya. Shu Yu could tell that she seemed to like Sanya.

The next moment, she heard Doctor Xie say, “Lady Lu, I saw how you handled the attacker bare-handed in the clinic just now; thank you for that. I heard from the shopkeeper that Miss Sanya likes medical skills, did you specifically bring her here to see it?”

“Yes.”

Doctor Xie pursed her lips, “Sanya was helping me throughout just now, and I can see she indeed has a talent for learning medicine, catching on very quickly. If you are willing, I would like to take her as a disciple and teach her well.”

Shu Yu was stunned; she had brought Sanya here just to show her the female doctor, not to seek apprenticeship.

But before she could speak, Doctor Xie continued, “Studying medicine will be good for her, and I can see that your family cares a lot for Sanya, and surely you would want what’s best for her future. Although she will have to leave home for a few years to study, she can eventually work at Renxin Clinic as a doctor with a substantial wage and she’ll be well-placed when she marries.”

As she hurriedly spoke these words, it was clear from the tone of the usually reserved Doctor Xie that she really liked Sanya.

Unfortunately, to her regret, Shu Yu shook her head. “I’m sorry, Sanya already has a master.”

Doctor Xie was taken aback, “She already has a master?”

That’s right, how could she forget? When Sanya was handing her bandages, scissors, and ointments, her movements were very systematic as if she knew exactly what Doctor Xie would need next and had prepared it in advance.

Looking at this, she clearly understood the procedure for treating external injuries too well not to have been taught.

She really liked Sanya and had heard from the shopkeeper that Lady Lu wanted her sister to learn medicine, so she rushed over, actually just subconsciously not thinking through these matters.

Doctor Xie, slightly disappointed yet unwilling to give up, asked, “May I know who Sanya is apprenticed to?”

She considered her medical skills competent, and if Sanya’s master was only average, what she could learn would be limited.

Who is the mentor…

Speaking of this gave Shu Yu a headache.

Zhao Xi, due to Daya’s reasons, refused to take Sanya as a disciple to avoid confusion with seniority.

He had previously written a letter to his teacher, honestly detailing Sanya’s talent without exaggeration, which shows that Zhao Xi was reliable in matters like taking on disciples.

His teacher had replied, and just as Zhao Xi had guessed, Old Doctor Zhao wanted to personally take Sanya as a disciple.

But he’s not able to come right now, and since the Lu family will not stay in the southwest for long, Old Doctor Zhao sent over two basic medical books first, instructing Zhao Xi to teach his future apprentice well.

So, for now, Sanya is tentatively reserved by Old Master Zhao, but she hasn’t officially become a disciple yet, hence not considered a direct disciple.

Once Old Doctor Zhao comes and after his teaching assessment, the formal title will be established.
