She is the Side Character! — Watch Her Change her fate!

”Chapter: Sun Ling”

My name is Sun Ling, living in 2602. I am someone who loves beauty and money; maybe in many people’s eyes, I’m a gold digger?

Actually, I’ve hardly ever spent money from guys. Some actions are just an act; I like how people disapprove of me yet can’t get rid of me.

My adoptive parents’ family is quite well off and treats me well. After coming of age, I even became a fashion blogger. Riches and wealth aren’t within reach, but covering my expenses is not an issue at all.

In fact, I spend more money traveling to remote places, hoping to find some trace of my sister, Yun Xuan.

We are fraternal twins. After our biological parents passed away, we were adopted separately shortly after entering the orphanage. Our adoptive parents are not only well off, but also kind-hearted, and even willing to let us sisters stay in touch.

But my sister wasn’t as lucky as I was. In high school, her adoptive parents passed away unexpectedly.

Before I got a chance to visit her during the holiday, she disappeared and was never heard from again.

I suspect she might have been kidnapped. So I later spent a lot of money traveling to remote places, trying to find her traces, but found nothing even through university.

University life was quite good; my roommates came from all over the country, each with their own unique personalities.

Tu Weiwei is a coward, Sheng Qin is a modest yet a bit of a proud young lady, while Su Chen, she’s surprisingly full of a sense of justice. Really, from childhood to adulthood, it was rare to meet someone so righteous.

But she made me feel very close because she somehow carries a shadow of my sister, that special kind of gentleness not found in most people.

Our dorm is mixed with students from different majors; everyone is very busy, so we really can’t spend as much time together as others might.

Sheng Qin has many gatherings of her own; though she dislikes chores, Tu Weiwei naturally becomes her little helper, dealing with trivial matters.

I also quite want to build a good relationship with Sheng Qin. After all, the Sheng Family is powerful; building a good relationship might help in future efforts to find my sister.

As for Su Chen, she’s somewhat extraordinary.

She obtained a qualification certificate by our sophomore year, allowing her to take cases, much busier than all of us.

Actually, our dorm was harmonious, and we would have dinner together once in a long time.

The event that brought us even closer was when my adoptive parents wanted to invest in a project. During a phone call, Su Chen unintentionally overheard and warned me of potential pitfalls, suggesting if I trusted her, to give her more details.

Having already lost my sister, I certainly didn’t want anything to happen to my adoptive parents, and promptly shared the general situation; she confirmed it was indeed risky.

Later, my adoptive parents heeded the warning and abandoned the project. Shortly after, the project went bust, and without Su Chen’s warning, my adoptive parents might have been ruined.

Originally, my adoptive parents wanted to invite Su Chen for dinner. But for some reason, she seemed very busy at the time, skipping our dorm meals and reducing our interactions, even turning down the invitation.

In retrospect, Su Chen probably faced those incidents during that period.

I wonder, if I had been more attentive and asked more questions, what might have happened? Perhaps nothing could change, might even get involved, which was likely why Su Chen kept her distance.

That day, Su Chen jumped off a building, committing suicide without any warning.

Only when I cleaned up the USB drive did I find a new folder in it, revealing the truth and discovering Xu Zhao’s matters.

I knew Xu Zhao; he was Jiang Yizhou’s roommate, Su Chen’s boyfriend.

Initially not paying much attention, upon seeing this data, I connected it to my sister’s disappearance and later found that Xu Zhao was actually my sister’s classmate, even her desk mate, possibly the boy she often mentioned.

That day, I decided to approach Xu Zhao.

For finding my sister, and to help Su Chen.

Soon, I realized my roommates seemed off, Sheng Qin and Tu Weiwei’s expressions were strange. Late that night, we talked it out, and the straightforward Miss Sheng couldn’t hold it in. Comparing notes, we found each of our USB drives had data Su Chen left behind.

Tu Weiwei was very worried, yet resentful about the matters inside the USB. Like me, she was grateful to Su Chen; they had a bit of history.

Once, during a part-time job, Tu Weiwei was almost bullied, and it was Su Chen who timely intervened. Afterwards, Su Chen used her connections to help Tu Weiwei find a safer part-time job.

The person who almost bullied Tu Weiwei was Liang Cheng, and in his later confession video, he mentioned being pleased to see Su Chen manipulated, long harboring resentment for her past interference.

Sheng Qin planned to bring these matters to light, but given the numerous implications, even a confident Miss Sheng was unsure of success, fearing failure might even draw them into trouble.

Su Chen had helped Sheng Qin once too, when she accidentally came into contact with an allergen and fainted in the dorm room, Su Chen quickly sent her to the hospital.

Upon learning about Su Chen’s experiences, we really wanted to help her.

Such righteous, kind-hearted, and enthusiastic Su Chen deserved a better ending.

Yet, with our limited power, especially given Sheng Qin’s comment about the complicated forces involved, even uploading information online might lead to disappearance. Besides, Su Chen had warned us, saying the computer skills in 4508 were quite advanced.

Eventually, I suggested approaching Xu Zhao first, infiltrating their circle; we’d prepared for a long game, Tu Weiwei even planning to reapproach Liang Cheng, which I stopped, advising her to wait.

Unexpectedly, Su Chen’s parents visited; we’d heard her mention family before, knowing it as a harmonious household.

Observing Su Chen’s parents’ behavior raised our suspicions, prompting us to watch and wait.

Su Chen’s mom often targeted me with trouble daily. After several times, I started realizing something, timing my returns to coincide with hers.

Within a few days, we encountered Su Yao, Su Chen’s brother, doing a part-time job outside school, claiming he’d seen us on Su Chen’s phone, initiating a conversation.

Repeated encounters revealed Su Yao seemed to be probing, becoming aware of certain things.

Since Su Chen shared the data with us, it stood to reason she’d left copies for her family; hence this brother was likely not simple.

But we feigned ignorance, treating it as a casual chat, sharing what we knew with Su Yao, resulting in mutual understanding of the situation.

Honestly, on the night Jiang Yizhou died, I overheard sounds at the dormitory entrance knowing Tan Ying’s voice within wasn’t a human speaker. But I acted as if I hadn’t heard anything.

Upon hearing someone fell and knowing it was Jiang Yizhou, there was a sense of closure inside.

Later, our dorm worked closely with Tan Ying.

Despite not having prior discussions, cooperation was remarkably seamless.

As one by one, the culprits mentioned in the USB drive met their end, I felt delighted.

Finally, only Xu Zhao remained; indeed, another person was also targeting him—An Shuo, who had a good relationship with Jiang Yizhou.

Meeting privately revealed our shared goals, and while the police’s attention was shifted by Su Chen’s parents, we decided to act against Xu Zhao. Whatever the means, we sought to discover our loved one’s whereabouts from Xu Zhao’s mouth.

But unexpectedly, Officer Zhao discovered something new and called Xu Zhao, nearly causing Xu Zhao to kill me instead. Given the situation then, even without the call, falling into Xu Zhao’s hands was likely, given his impressive skills.

As I feared the worst, a rope appeared out of nowhere, encircling Xu Zhao’s neck, startling me.

Even the bodyguards Xu Zhao stationed outside were subdued, as a group of us were pulled to the rooftop by the rope; An Shuo and I followed suit.

There Xu Zhao hung at the edge of the rooftop, it was the first time I felt there indeed were ghosts, but I wasn’t scared.

An Shuo seemed calm, as if knowing something, with a sort of resigned expression. I inquired about the situation, but he wouldn’t reveal anything.

Until Officer Zhao arrived, and the unknown presence holding the rope finally revealed itself.

It was the deceased Su Chen!

Su Chen had become a ghost.

The culprits had all perished by Su Chen’s hands, ensuring others wouldn’t be implicated, truly wonderful.

Su Chen was still so good-hearted, not wanting our hands stained with blood.

Later, Su Chen met me again, returning my sister Yun Xuan’s remains; I anticipated this outcome, yet still felt sorrowful.

But, Su Chen, thank you so much indeed.
