She is the Side Character! — Watch Her Change her fate!

Chapter 443: Chapter 442: To Die for the Princess Is Your Honor 62

Song Jing also knew that the situation was not good now, and to succeed, some sacrifices were inevitable. After calculating, she realized that the silver coin in her hands was enough to purchase these, with some leftovers. However, there definitely wouldn’t be just one batch of supplies needed, and she feared many such situations would arise in the future. She still had to write a letter to inform her brothers that she was out of silver coin.

Conquering the land requires gold and silver treasures, but it’s certainly not something she can accomplish on her own.

Song Jing thought of someone in the Capital City, her fourth brother, Song Lian. Given their former status, they must have hidden some treasures, and her fourth brother couldn’t possibly be left with nothing.

As for her sisters, they were married with children, clearly, this matter couldn’t be revealed to them.

The brothers heading to the east have already started, whether the restoration of the monarchy is possible depends on them. She believed that her fourth brother wouldn’t miss such an opportunity. Even though they were living stable lives now, as members of the Nan Qi Royal Family, they could only live these stable and uneventful days, having completely lost the chance for wealth and power.

Song Jing went to find Song Lian, and after a brief exchange of pleasantries between the siblings, she expected Song Lian to ask, but he didn’t, so she had to speak first.

”Fourth brother, I wish to borrow some silver from you.” According to what Song Jing thought, Song Lian would certainly ask what she wanted the silver for. She believed that even if she revealed the situation of the brothers in the east, her fourth brother would not inform on them. Just like when the brothers escaped before, her fourth brother only pretended not to know.

Indeed, Song Lian wouldn’t expose them. After all, they were his siblings, but he wouldn’t meddle in other matters either, already considering the bond of blood.

”Yun Sheng, go fetch ten taels of silver.” Song Lian instructed and then said to Song Jing, ”Ninth sister, such extensive consumption is not good; you should think of a way out. Given your abilities, you can make a living whether it be through embroidery or copying books. By the way, ninth sister, have you thought about finding someone?”

His ninth sister was aloof and hard for ordinary people to admire.

Because of her status, ordinary people wouldn’t trouble themselves to marry such a wife and ruin their future.

Song Jing’s face darkened, and she spoke softly, ”Fourth brother, you are smart, you should know it’s not as simple as ten taels.”

”Ninth sister, although we are siblings, there’s no reason for you to ask your brother for an exorbitantly large sum, is there?” Song Lian smiled. Ninth sister wanted him to voluntarily bring up certain matters, which was impossible.

His ninth sister had quite a complex mind. She wanted his help but wanted him to take the initiative to help, as if he should unconditionally agree to any request of hers. How lofty her expectations were.

Yu Chen must have been quite disgusted by her in the past. It’s a wonder he didn’t kill her; was it for some purpose?

Song Lian fell into deep thought. Yu Chen didn’t kill the Cui Family. Perhaps because she came from the Cui Family, there was no need to kill them. Even if they wanted to kill, it couldn’t be done openly; there are ways to make the Cui Family disappear without a trace, and the same goes for his ninth sister.

Yu Chen spared the Song Family Imperial Family members and spread the word that those with grievances could come forward. This indeed had a purpose, merely wanting to maximize their utility. However, she really wasn’t a thoroughly villainous person; as long as they behaved, they could live quietly in the Capital City.

His brothers couldn’t possibly be content, hence they went east, and she must have known.

Their move to the east was likely within her expectations too.

Once Canglan Country is prepared and declares war on the east, his brothers will serve as ready excuses.

If his brothers suffer setbacks over there, or worse, die, it wouldn’t matter.

If they rise up and gain some territory, it wouldn’t only stir up confusion over there, but would also provide a more legitimate excuse for future invasions.

Either way, it’s beneficial to her.

As for whether they might become a powerful force, Song Lian laughed. Didn’t he see that ninth sister came to borrow silver?

To restore the monarchy, manpower and silver are needed. Without resolving the issue of silver, where would the manpower come from?

As for ninth sister, not participating in these matters meant a bitter, stifled heart, worse than death. If involved, it would lead to gradual destruction, equally distressing.

Yu Chen just wants these people to suffer by giving them hope and then crushing it, Song Lian suddenly thought.

Song Jing was very frustrated. Her fourth brother was indeed difficult to talk to; she had been so explicit, yet he still pretended not to understand.

”Ninth sister, if these ten taels cannot solve your urgent need, I can’t help you, find someone else.” Song Lian said.

Song Jing’s behavior annoyed him; he no longer wished to talk. Originally, there was not much sibling affection between them. Even before Yu Chen returned, he was not close with Song Jing; it was just that other siblings were close to her, which led to frequent encounters.

”Fourth brother, are you really content?” Song Jing wasn’t willing. If she didn’t finish the conversation today, she wouldn’t feel at ease. ”Fourth brother, do you not want to restore the former glory?”

Yet Song Lian stood up and left, leaving a sentence behind: ”Ninth sister, your brother just wants to live a peaceful and comfortable life and has no thoughts of anything else.”

Canglan Country is like a strong tiger that’s still growing, only becoming stronger and stronger; really, stop dreaming.

No one doesn’t want to be a princely figure again, he also wanted that, but one must face reality. Instead of yearning for the past status, he preferred to live on and see to what extent Canglan Country could grow.

Song Jing inwardly harbored a flame of anger: ”Fourth brother, it was Yu Chen who killed Father Emperor. Do you not hate at all? Do you want to forget our hatred?”

”Fourth brother, if you don’t seize this opportunity, it will never come again.” Song Jing said anxiously, but still couldn’t stop Song Lian from leaving.

Song Lian was speechless; he wasn’t foolish. Better not drag him into this mess.

Ninth sister was too cunning, expecting him to make all efforts based on her mere words.

What reputation, what face, does the Song Family have left? It had long been squandered by the past emperors of the Song Family of Nan Qi. He simply wanted to live well.

Song Jing clenched her lips and had no choice but to leave.

”The young master said that the ninth miss has too big of an appetite, truly unable to satisfy her, and asks the ninth miss not to come again in the future.” Yun Sheng said.

Song Jing was so enraged that she almost fainted. Was this a complete severance of ties with her?

”Your Majesty, news from the Capital City, Song Jing purchased a batch of supplies and sent them east. Originally, she went to Song Lian’s residence but returned unsuccessful. It seems Song Lian doesn’t want to participate. This Song Lian knows how to assess the situation better than any of them,” Lu Zhu said, ”Should we intercept it?”

”There are probably many who want to intercept it. Those people over there aren’t reasonable.” Ah Chen laughed, ”No need to bother with that side for now, let them fight it out themselves. The Song Family wants to restore the kingdom, which is bound to affect the power over there. I’m afraid it’ll be quite lively in the coming years.”

Amidst this commotion, she could well develop the Canglan Country, laying down a firm foundation.

Sure enough, two months passed.

Ah Chen received the latest news that the batch of supplies Song Jing secretly sent was seized by some power, and now the Song Family was engaged in conflict with them, making quite a stir.
