Chapter 434: Chapter 433: Dying for the Princess Is Your Honor 53

Cui Yu’s face was ashen, looking at Cui Zhao, who was still begging for mercy, with a sense of disappointment.

He knew that living was hope, but in today’s situation, neither Song Chong nor Yu Chen would allow them a peaceful life.

Yu Chen suggested letting Song Chong exercise the Emperor’s power, wasn’t that a way to use Song Chong to kill him?

Perhaps Song Chong wouldn’t kill them, but he certainly wouldn’t let them off easily. And Yu Chen wasn’t rigid; if she really wanted to kill him, she had plenty of means.

Bringing this up now, it seemed to be partly to mock them.

”Cui Yu, Cui Zhao has committed treason and was originally supposed to be executed along with his entire family, but I won’t kill you today,” Song Chong said. He saw the look of delight on Cui Zhao’s face and was disdainful. Cui Yu valued such a son, no wonder the world laughs at him. Seeing Cui Yu close his eyes, Song Chong’s mood improved slightly, and he continued, ”All members of the Cui Family will be exiled to the far east, to the area controlled by rebel forces.”

After he spoke, Cui Yu opened his eyes, knowing Song Chong would not easily forgive.

Cui Zhao, who was initially a bit happy, was stunned. Exiled to the east? To the rebel forces’ area? How is that different from sending them to their deaths?

”Your Majesty of Nan Qi, please seal it.” Lu Zhu handed up the written imperial edict and placed it in front of Song Chong.

Song Chong glanced at Lu Zhu, stamped it with the Jade Seal; he had no other choice at this moment.

How could it be like this?

Cui Zhao felt immense fear about going to the east.

Cui Yu saw his appearance and didn’t even want to take another look.

”Alright, now it’s the Emperor of Nan Qi and Consort Li’s turn.” Ah Chen still stood in her original position, her voice cold, ”Just give them a cup of poisoned wine each.”

Song Chong took a deep breath; this was the best outcome.

But as he picked up the wine cup, his entire body trembled. He didn’t want to die, no one wanted to die, but his life had already reached its end.

Consort Li reacted much more violently, how could it be like this? Why did she have to drink poisoned wine?

”No, I don’t want to die, I don’t want to die, Your Majesty save me!” Consort Li pushed away the person in front of her, only to see Song Chong holding the wine cup, his hands still trembling.

He said, ”Consort Li, there are no more choices today, let’s go together.”

”I really shouldn’t have back then.”

Shouldn’t have sent Jing’er to the Cui Family, and shouldn’t have let Yu Chen replace Jing’er, none of today’s events would have happened. The fall of Nan Qi was his doing.

Countless things flashed through his mind, Song Chong hardened his heart, and drank the wine in one go.

Consort Li looked around in bewilderment, and finally decided to pick up the wine cup. The Emperor was dead, could she still live? It was impossible even to think.

”Mother Consort.” Song Jing suddenly shouted, looking at the already fallen Song Chong, seeing Consort Li about to drink, she couldn’t hold it any longer.

It shouldn’t have been like this.

”Yu Chen, how cruel you are, do you hate me that much? To kill my biological parents?” Song Jing shouted, ”I will remember you, I will always remember you, even if I die, I will curse you to die a horrible death.”

Ah Chen laughed, ”I’m afraid your little curse won’t be able to curse me to death.”

For her, there was only awakening and sleeping, no death.

”They wanted to poison me before, to give me a cup of poisoned wine, now I give them a cup of poisoned wine, it’s only fair. Song Jing, you, who once benefited, look at how angry you are now, only when it touches your interests, hits your sore spot, do you know what pain is, do you become anxious. Before, I suffered losses at your hands, and you offhandedly dismissed them with a few light words.”

”You hate me? Then I should hate you more, but actually, I don’t have much hatred for you, I just find you ridiculous.”

Consort Li sadly scanned the surroundings, holding the wine cup and about to drink it.

Song Jing shouted, ”Mother Consort, don’t!”

Consort Li, however, said, ”It was a mistake, a mistake, maybe from the start, they shouldn’t have sent you to the Cui Family, later, when Bei Qi found out, they shouldn’t have kept you; it wasn’t right, really wasn’t right.”

Song Jing was stunned; did they all regret this matter?

This time, she no longer spoke, watching with open eyes as Consort Li drank the poisoned wine and fell down.

”According to the Emperor of Nan Qi’s decree, exile all the Cui Family to the eastern rebel forces’ territory.” Ah Chen’s voice snapped everyone back to reality, she looked at Song Jing, ”Song Jing, you’ve always had a good relationship with the Cui Family. Will you go with the Cui Family to the east this time? If you want to go, no one will stop you.”

”If I don’t go, will you kill me?” Song Jing raised her head, hatred in her eyes undiminished.

”No, I won’t,” Ah Chen replied, ”currently, there’s no need to kill you. After all, Nan Qi and Bei Qi are somewhat different. I haven’t planned to kill all you princes and princesses. I’m not a bloodthirsty person. In the future, you will all be commoners. If you don’t go to the east, you’ll have to stay in the Capital City; if someone comes with evidence to accuse you, you’d have to be dealt with according to the law. You better pray you haven’t done anything excessive.”

”You can also privately rally and seek revenge; that way you will die faster.”

For a moment, Song Jing really wanted revenge.

Why could Yu Chen be Empress, and she couldn’t?

But with such words, her courage was instantly shattered.

What ability did she have to seek revenge?

Did she have the hearts of people?

Did she have the powerful martial strength like Yu Chen?

No, none of those, she had nothing, in front of Yu Chen, she was insignificantly small. At best, she could utter a few harsh curses, but Yu Chen obviously didn’t care, and might even laugh at her harsh words. With such a person in front, she couldn’t struggle at all.

”Song Jing, are you going with the Cui Family?” Ah Chen asked again.

Song Jing clenched her fists, not looking at the Cui Family. What would she do if she went with them? Exiled by her father’s decree; no guarantee the Cui Family wouldn’t hold a grudge.

”No,” she said, lowering her head, the east is chaotic; what good days could there be going there? Moreover, the journey is long, maybe one could die on the way, and who knows what might happen on the road.

Even if there was no freedom in the Capital City, at least she would still be alive.

She hadn’t harmed anyone, no one would come to accuse her.

Surely, there were many who hated Yu Chen; she had to live well, maybe one day someone would overthrow Yu Chen.

Ah Chen had anticipated this result; Song Jing understood well, the east wasn’t a good place.

She looked at the Cui Family, ”Then by the Emperor of Nan Qi’s decree, immediately exile the entire Cui Family to the east.”

The Ning Family wanted to say something but was stopped by Cui Yu shaking his head. It’s useless; standing at this position, able to destroy Bei Qi, annex Nan Qi, and hope to unify the world, Yu Chen couldn’t be swayed by just their relationship with the Cui Family. Saying more would only add to the ridicule.

”Chenchen, I am your elder brother.” Cui Zhao’s voice rang out, ”Even if you don’t bear the surname Cui anymore, we still share the same blood, that you cannot deny.”

Cui Yu took a deep breath and said sharply, ”Cui Zhao!”

Cui Zhao’s eyes were red, ignoring Cui Yu, is the east a place for people to go?

”Mr. Cui is somewhat naive,” Ah Chen smiled slightly, then said, ”Take everyone away.”

Cui Chen hadn’t said a word when suddenly Ah Chen spoke, ”Second Young Master Cui, do you want freedom?”

The Cui Family raised their heads sharply, puzzled about why.

Cui Chen also raised his head, confused, ”Why? In past matters, I wasn’t good to you, even when they planned those things, I didn’t stand on your side.”

”Because you believed that a princess should not have others die in her place, whether I was the Ninth Princess, or whether Cui Jing was the Ninth Princess,” Ah Chen said.

Actually, considering Cui Chen’s personality, he probably wouldn’t accept this freedom.

Cui Chen was enlightened, somewhat understanding, even understanding why she wanted to kill the entire Bei Qi Royal Family that night.

It wasn’t brutality; it was to change something, or as a reform.

”No,” Cui Chen said, ”My parents raised me; at this time, I should be by their side.”

Ah Chen smiled, ”Okay.”

”Why are you willing to spare Cui Chen, but not me?” Cui Zhao shouted unwillingly, Cui Chen wasn’t superior to him in any way?
