She is the Side Character! — Watch Her Change her fate!

Chapter 300: Chapter 299: Her Husband Married Her While Waiting for Another to Transmigrate (11)

During breakfast, Ah Chen was reminded by 997 that the video she made for Bai Huimei yesterday had long been edited and was ready to be used whenever she needed it.

”I’ll use it in a bit,” she said.

After breakfast, Ah Chen noticed Mrs. Zhang looking like she had something to say but hesitated, so she smiled and asked, ”Mrs. Zhang, do you have something to say?”

Mrs. Zhang came closer, hesitantly saying to Ah Chen, ”Yesterday, sir asked to prepare the usual porridge, and I told sir that it was always prepared by madam in the past.”

This is a good job; both sir and madam are quite easy to serve. I don’t want to be fired over some small mistake.

”Hmm, it’s fine,” Ah Chen responded. The person who once carefully prepared the porridge would not return, nor would they care about this anymore, so it’s fine.

”Is there anything else?” She asked again, seeing that Mrs. Zhang seemed like she had more to say.

Mrs. Zhang said, ”Sir still seems to prefer the porridge that madam prepared. Last night, he only ate half of the mushroom porridge I made, leaving quite a bit. So, should madam continue to prepare the porridge for sir in the future?”

Everyone knows that sir and madam got married because of an old promise between elders, and madam is just the stepdaughter of the Lu Family. Other than her outstanding looks, she doesn’t match sir in any other way, which is probably why sir is dissatisfied with madam.

This is understandable; someone like sir indeed deserves a better wife.

Mrs. Zhang thought this but would not say it out loud.

She was just a worker here. It’s not her business who the employer marries. As long as she could keep this job until old age, she wouldn’t worry about retirement since the employer even pays for insurance, like those provided by a company.

”No need, he doesn’t like what I make.” Ah Chen declined, ”The soup I sent over before, he just gave it to his assistant.”

”Go on with your work.” Ah Chen stood up, holding her phone, and went to sit on the sofa.

Seeing that Ah Chen did not wish to talk anymore, Mrs. Zhang did not dare to speak further.

She sighed and began to clear the dishes and utensils.

The lady had been married into the family, and she seemed to be getting better, so everything was fine. But now, she suddenly stopped showing concern for sir, and who knows what would happen in the future.

While this lady’s status wasn’t impressive, she wasn’t picky and was quite easy to get along with. If another lady replaced her, one wouldn’t know if she would be as easygoing.

Don’t be fooled by those glamorous and harmonious rich girls. Many in wealthy families are picky and hard to please.

Ah Chen was posting a video under the account named ”Miss Bai,” with the caption: Mom is making the snacks I love.

Then she checked the stats on yesterday’s video and found that the view count was quite impressive, much more than the previous videos posted by the commissioner.

Most people were discussing how good Bai Huimei’s culinary skills were.

Since Bai Huimei didn’t like going out and making friends, it was unknown whether she would leave the Lu Family in the end. Life is so long; why not find her a circle?

Based on previous interactions, Bai Huimei seemed somewhat intrigued by the outside world yet timid.

In the commissioner’s memory, Bai Huimei was already divorced from Lu Mingxue. It couldn’t be seen why they would have problems now, but at the time, the commissioner had nearly lost it and was taken away from the Lu Family by Bai Huimei.

Naturally, there was no time to pay attention to what happened between Bai Huimei and Lu Mingxue that led to the divorce.

There might be a reason related to the commissioner, but this wasn’t the main cause.

This also explains why the commissioner had a wish regarding Bai Huimei and had to consider her willingness. In her view, if the reason for divorce was merely a misunderstanding or indeed her fault, then there was no need to go that far.

The commissioner spent her entire life struggling but neglected the mother who cared most for her, feeling deeply guilty, especially remembering the hurtful words said to her mother, which made her feel even worse inside.

The ones she tried hard to please were indifferent and callous, not caring about her at all.

Yet, no matter when, Bai Huimei, who had been hurt by her words, was unwilling to give up on her.

A person who had been at home for over twenty years stood back up in society, which required unimaginable courage.

Shortly after Ah Chen posted the video, comments started coming in continuously.

Noticing that they were still about her mother, netizens watched with great interest and left many comments wanting to try the snacks, envious of Ah Chen for having such a mother. Some even mentioned that they forgot what this account was originally for.

When the account posted a new video, Bai Huimei immediately received a notification and upon opening it, she saw it was indeed yesterday’s video of her making snacks.

In fact, she had secretly watched the video of knitting a scarf multiple times, not for the video itself but for the comments underneath, not expecting so much praise.

The video of making snacks that Chenchen posted today received similar praise in the comments soon after.

This made her feel a bit dazed, realizing that so many people liked what she made.

Usually, at the Lu Family, she could feel that Lu Mingxue liked and was satisfied, but compliments like those in the comments had never been received.

What kind of feeling is this?

It’s like something was growing from her heart, a very happy and joyful feeling, but she didn’t know how to describe it.

She only knew it was a feeling of happiness and satisfaction.

And an eager desire to showcase herself.

At that moment, she received a call from Ah Chen.

”Mom, it seems like a lot of people like what you make. I’ll often come back to help you film videos in the future.”

”Do you have an account? I can help you promote it so you can share your daily life yourself.”

Bai Huimei hesitated a bit, ”Share myself? Isn’t it the same if you post?”

”Of course, it’s different. I’m sharing my mom’s life; you’re sharing your own life. Anyway, you don’t have to show your face, just record daily stuff. If you’re willing, I can come over later to teach you how.”

Bai Huimei hesitated for a moment and asked, ”Would you stop posting in the future? It seems like a lot of people are watching. If I post, won’t fewer people go to your side?”

”This account wasn’t for posting those things initially.”

”I don’t have the patience to keep posting this stuff.”

She just leveraged the account’s traffic to let Bai Huimei know that she had many admirable qualities, not intending to consistently post about her.

Such lifestyle videos should be shared by Bai Huimei herself to really be interesting.

Whether filming or editing, it would take Bai Huimei some time to learn.

Indeed, Bai Huimei was convinced and asked Ah Chen what she wanted to eat for lunch.

Ah Chen casually mentioned some of the commissioner’s preferences, and after hanging up, she called the driver to prepare as she would be going to the Lu Family for lunch later.

”Going to the Lu Family again?” Yu Xiaoran received a call from the driver and frowned.

It’s not that she couldn’t return to the Lu Family, but the Lu Family Brothers were likely similar to him, fearing they might incite Bai Chen to divorce him.

”Keep an eye on whether those two brothers-in-law of mine are at home. If they’re not, fine; if they are, let me know immediately.”

”Understood, President Yu.”

Upon arriving at the Lu Family, Ah Chen started teaching Bai Huimei how to shoot videos.

After lunch, Ah Chen taught Bai Huimei how to edit and even provided a package of editing tips for her to learn in her spare time.

Whether the Lu Family Brothers heard something or not, they returned early and even offered to have her stay for dinner, but before that, an uninvited guest arrived, and it was Yu Xiaoran.
