She is the Side Character! — Watch Her Change her fate!

Chapter 183: Chapter 183: The Game of the Rich Kid? I’m Done Playing (Part 21)

Song Mo led Ah Chen to a place with seats. He didn’t speak for a moment, and Ah Chen wasn’t in a hurry either, patiently waiting.

”What else could it be? Just some rich people’s game. Money and power are in their hands, and they feel they can manipulate everything, including people like us, whom they don’t even consider human. They have plenty of ways to force compliance on those they take a fancy to; otherwise, people find it hard to survive or leave there in a difficult manner.”

”Many people can’t help it; they compromise. Because some people’s nastiness is beyond what outsiders can imagine, it’s not just about work in the circle.”

”I was the one who didn’t want to compromise, resulting in these encounters.”

Not only did he refuse to compromise, but he also directly slapped the other party in the face.

Afterward, he somewhat regretted, not for slapping the face, but for not making a bigger scene. He should have blown up the matter, letting the whole world see their ugly faces.

Anyway, he thought his life was worthless, with no attachments.

If he were killed, so be it; dragging them down too would just be preparing an early gift for his burial.

Now he felt lucky he didn’t do it; had he done so well, he would have been destroyed long ago, and wouldn’t have met Chenchen.

Ah Chen held onto his arm, clasping his hand, asking, ”Do you still yearn for there?”

”No, I don’t yearn anymore.” Song Mo gazed down at her, ”A long time ago, I did, thinking I could shine brightly there, sing for those who liked me, dance for those who appreciated me. Then I went inside, realizing it wasn’t that simple. Their affection would come swiftly and leave swiftly, and one had to constantly maintain a positive image.”

He sighed: ”I’m not that kind of person.”

His temper was never good, from the start.

In school, he was the type to start fights at a disagreement, stubborn at heart.

Because of yearning, he concealed all his sharpness, becoming the gentle, handsome sunny guy people saw.

He had to change all his habits, even temperament, utterly suppressing his true self.

Initially, he pretended well for the sake of yearning and those who liked him.

But when facing things he disliked, he was also very stubborn, refusing absolutely. At that time, rumors about him started leaking out.

Pretending to be nice really isn’t something one can keep up for long; eventually, the true nature would be found out.

Sure enough, that day came quickly.

He didn’t accept certain rules, finally offending people and being thoroughly blacklisted.

He entered with nothing, exited with nothing.

Fortunately, he wasn’t the extravagant type; the money he once earned truly paid off his debts.

He left decisively.

But his heart was still hurt.

From being liked by countless people to being hated and cursed by many, how could he not be hurt?

”I’m not suited to being an idol.” Song Mo held his forehead with a chuckle, ”It’s too hard to pretend; my character makes it really difficult to keep up the pretense. In crowded places, conflicts arise easily, and dealing with scheming, it’s easy for me to have disputes.”

Truly not suitable.

And unchangeable.

Actually, the current life suits him well, just lacking goals and attachments, living in a muddled state each day.

”Then do you think you’re suitable as my boyfriend?” Ah Chen asked with a smile.

Song Mo paused, then said, ”I find it very suitable.”

He hugged her, whispering in her ear, ”Not just a boyfriend, I want to upgrade, become Chenchen’s future other half.”

From now on, he plans to work seriously to earn money.

Striving to open a shop as soon as possible, then grow strong to provide her a good life.

He’s not afraid she likes money, just that she doesn’t like it anymore.

But Chenchen is also quite capable; with her skills in mushroom soup and fried mushrooms, she can make money easily if she wants.

Her earnings are hers; he wants to give her more, she deserves the best.

Loving someone is wanting to present all the best in front of her.

These things Song Mo hasn’t expressed; now it would seem like making empty promises if he did.

Ah Chen noticed Song Mo seems more earnest with his stall, preparing more ingredients than usual, quickly realizing what was going on, but didn’t dampen his enthusiasm.

Her insistence on having a stall was her matter, she can’t block Song Mo’s heart that desires to strive, right?

At first encounter, although appearing somewhat aimless with his personality, it was only in interaction that she realized he was somewhat downhearted, like having lost all goals and hope.

Now having an aspiration is good too.

Psychological wounds don’t heal in a day or two.

”Ever since the handsome chicken skewer guy started dating, ingredients increased, attitude improved, is this the power of great love?” A young female customer said smiling, observing the interaction between them, feeling herself being sweetened here every day.

Song Mo showed a smile: ”What would you like?”

The young female customer clicked her tongue twice, picking her items.

”It’s just the beautiful lady boss seems to have a heart of stone, yet to plan on buying a bigger container. Don’t you think buying two 100-liter+ containers is necessary?” The young female customer critiqued.

This lead other customers to nod enthusiastically.

Sometimes they purchase two large portions of mushroom soup to share with their family for a real feast.

But daily, many people come early to wait; a little late and it’s sold out.

Apparently, the beautiful lady boss has no plans to increase quantities.

”Beautiful lady boss, hasn’t the handsome chicken skewer guy moved you?”

Ah Chen asked, ”How does his moving me relate to me selling mushroom soup?”

”Being happy in love surely brings changes; once happy, you can’t help but become excited, then you’ll crazily make soup and fry mushrooms.”

Ah Chen smiled slightly, ”Being with him makes me happy, but I won’t crazily make soup or fry mushrooms; instead, I might think of going out to play with him, not making soup or frying mushrooms.”

Song Mo hearing this from the side, all smiles.

Chenchen teased the customers again.

Sure enough, customers got anxious.

”Beautiful lady boss, love should promote growth, not cause absurdity and laziness; remember to keep making soup and frying mushrooms.”

”That’s right, can’t stop working for love; we need to hold both bread and love.”

Ah Chen nodded to their point and said, ”You guys make sense.”

She handed them fried mushrooms: ”Quickly pay for my bread money.”

Customers chuckled, surrounding the stall with harmony.

They loved it here not just because the food was delicious, but because here they felt happiness, a kind of relaxation that dissipates fatigue, uniquely special.

Han Fangli stood outside the group; he came late today and couldn’t make it to the front, just watching from there.

He looked at Meng Sheng’s sad yet discontented expression, finding it amusing.

”She looks truly happy.”

Though it may be short-lived, for now she was genuinely happy; anyone could see that.

Meng Sheng clenched his fists, ”If she left with me, she could be even happier. How can there be any happiness with someone who’s been blacklisted and can only run a stall?”

After the stall closed, Meng Sheng approached again.

Ah Chen wasn’t annoyed, but the surrounding customers got frustrated first, seeing him as a clown.

”Why aren’t you willing to leave with me?” Meng Sheng asked, casting a glance at Song Mo, ”Do you really think being with him can bring eternal happiness?”

Song Mo smirked: ”Of course, definitely better than certain useless things.”

”Watch your mouth!” Meng Sheng’s expression turned grim, ”If you want to continue running your stall nicely.”

Song Mo appeared indifferent: ”What’s up, your family’s power that big? Who’s backing you? Can’t snatch someone’s girlfriend so threatening us common folks not to run stalls, acting like an emperor?”

Meng Sheng fell silent; one couldn’t speak such things recklessly, stirring trouble always leads to complications.

”Do you really like me and want to give me a future?” Ah Chen asked.

Meng Sheng felt a surge of hope: ”Yes.”

”Do you want to see me doing well?” Ah Chen questioned further.

Meng Sheng nodded quickly: ”Yes.”

”But I am very happy with Ah Mo, yet since you’re so sincere and determined to contribute, why not go home, sell off your assets, and give them to us?” Ah Chen chuckled, contemplating the scenario, ”That way you won’t worry about our future being plagued by trivial everyday needs.”

The surrounding folks paused, though the words were far-fetched, she said it in such a way that they found her logic strangely convincing.
