She is the Side Character! — Watch Her Change her fate!

Chapter 168: Chapter 168: Rich Kids’ Game? I’m Not Playing Anymore (Part 6)

”Sir, would you like to buy some perfume?” Lang Liqing greeted Han Fangli as he walked in, as Li Chen had previously mentioned that she wouldn’t get too entangled with this person.

They hit it off immediately, so naturally, she came to help handle him.

In reality, Ah Chen didn’t mind Han Fangli coming over at all. If he wanted to approach, that was his business. If she sold things, that was her business. If he insisted on being a spendthrift, it was also his business—no one was forcing him. However, expecting any good outcome from her was impossible.

Lang Liqing meant well, and she didn’t refuse.

From what she knew of Han Fangli, Lang Liqing couldn’t keep him away.

Sure enough, Han Fangli smiled and said directly that he came to buy things from Ah Chen.

Since a customer was here, even if with other intentions, Lang Liqing, due to Li Chen, didn’t have a good impression of this person but couldn’t be too harsh.

Ah Chen walked over with a smile and greeted, ”Sir, what would you like to buy?”

Han Fangli was surprised by her composed demeanor, showing no signs of strangeness at his arrival, and it further piqued his interest.

He smiled and said, ”I don’t know what to buy. Could you help me with some recommendations? If suitable, I might buy a bit of everything.”

”Sure,” Ah Chen replied. Selling is selling, no matter who it’s to.

What followed was Ah Chen introducing bottle after bottle of perfume to Han Fangli, which surprised him, as she seemed to have a special understanding of this brand.

If he remembered correctly, hadn’t she just been hired successfully?

When she was with Xiao Su before, she never used such low-end goods, so how did she know them so well? From the brand’s history to each fragrance, she was very knowledgeable.

Han Fangli was a little dazed.

The people around Xiao Su, including him, always thought she was just a pretty yet empty-headed woman.

He only realized today that maybe she wasn’t.

The Commissioner was certainly not a mere pretty face; she was an orphan who was exceptionally diligent and excelled academically before meeting Xiao Su. Though she wasn’t familiar with this brand’s perfumes.

This was information Ah Chen had crammed at the last minute. The information online was scattered, but she had a system called 997. The capability of 997 easily surpassed this world’s internet technology, making it easy to collect stories and products about a brand.

In fact, with the Commissioner’s understanding of luxury brands, she could completely apply for a position at a high-end brand, or with her looks, there were plenty of possibilities. It’s just that the more high-end places required going through some processes and had stricter evaluations.

Unconsciously, Ah Chen introduced ten different fragrances to Han Fangli without being perfunctory.

As she was about to introduce the next one, he said, ”No need to introduce more; you’re very professional.”

”I want one bottle of every perfume in your store.”

Ah Chen smiled and advised, ”Sir, please shop rationally; perhaps you should reconsider.”

”No need to reconsider, I want one bottle of each,” Han Fangli said with certainty, as he wasn’t short of money.

Even if there were over a hundred fragrances in the store, buying them would only amount to a fraction of the price of one bottle of top luxury perfume. It was really nothing to him.

”Alright.” Naturally, Ah Chen wouldn’t insist further, as this was the customer’s choice, and she wasn’t the one pushing him.

Lang Liqing was stunned for a moment, looking at Ah Chen with some concern.

Ah Chen smiled at her to reassure her.

This was no big deal.

There was really nothing to worry about.

Han Fangli was someone who cared about his reputation, and if he said he’d buy, he certainly would, without any mishap.

”Sir, please leave an address and phone number, and we’ll package all the perfumes and deliver them to you later,” Lang Liqing said, taking a deep breath as she walked over.

Faced with such a major customer, regardless of the intent, it was natural to provide impeccable service.

The other staff were on leave today, with her as the manager on duty. She hadn’t expected to hire an intern and end up with such a large sale. Honestly, thinking of the reasons behind it, she wasn’t particularly pleased. But with things reaching this point, she had no right to refuse a customer’s purchase.

After Han Fangli left his address and phone number, he said to Ah Chen, ”When do you get off work? Can we have dinner together?”

Ah Chen smiled and replied, ”Sir, this is a professional setting where we only sell perfumes; sales associates don’t dine with customers.”

”If you think buying perfume means a dinner with a sales associate, you might be in the wrong place. Perhaps reconsider whether you want this batch of perfumes? It would be a shame to spend money and not get the outcome you desire.”

Lang Liqing took a breath. She sure was bold.

However, there seemed to be no fault in what she said.

A complaint from someone wealthy could indeed be scary, but it didn’t mean she shouldn’t speak sense. Li Chen, now being in a point where she had less to lose, wasn’t afraid of anything.

Han Fangli’s eye twitched. Suddenly, he found her to be a particularly hard-to-get woman.

The allure of money no longer seemed to work on her.

It was all thanks to Xiao Su; it was Xiao Su who turned her this way.

Thinking of Xiao Su’s attitude, Han Fangli found it amusing, further strengthening his desire to pursue Li Chen.

She had become so interesting, he was increasingly intrigued by her.

If she could always be this interesting, perhaps he could be with her for a long time.

”It was presumptuous of me. Buying a perfume and inviting you to dinner aren’t related; you can accept or refuse,” he said, maintaining his gentlemanly demeanor.

Ah Chen earnestly said, ”Then I refuse.”

”Alright,” Han Fangli laughed, ”I’ll ask again next time.”

He turned and walked away, his back looking incredibly carefree.

Suddenly, he stopped in his tracks and turned back to ask, ”What flowers do you like? I’ll bring some next time.”

In reality, even if he didn’t ask, he’d bring a bouquet next time; it’s basic when pursuing a girl.

Today, he hadn’t brought any as too much had happened and he didn’t have time to prepare.

Before Xiao Su received the call from Qin Zhiyao, he hadn’t thought things would develop this way.

Ah Chen smiled faintly, ”I like flowers given by someone I like.”

Han Fangli initially thought she’d say she doesn’t like flowers or that he needn’t bring any. Yet, he hadn’t expected her answer.

He couldn’t help but recall the scenes when Xiao Su first pursued that simple university girl.

At that time, it was indeed quite romantic; every visit came with flowers and gifts, arousing the envy of many young women.

Aside from those who knew around Xiao Su, who could have known the real story?

After she got together with Xiao Su, at some point, he seemed to stop giving flowers, often opting to gift her expensive things or take her to shops to choose. It appeared generous, but was actually an act of perfunctory—a sign of Xiao Su losing interest in her.

Watching her with that faint smile, Han Fangli no longer saw the simplicity of before, nor the frequent gaudiness or glamour. In just half a day, she seemed peaceful and gentle, seemingly without any sharpness, easily bullied by anyone.

But only by trying would one realize how sharp she was when she showed her edge.

”Is it Xiao Su’s flowers?” he asked instinctively.
