She is the Side Character! — Watch Her Change her fate!

Chapter 167: Chapter 167: Rich Kids’ Game? I’m Not Playing Anymore (Part 5)

The commissioner met Xiao Su during their freshman year, which led to neglecting their studies and barely graduating.

But over the years with Xiao Su, they gained some experience, enough to apply for a clerk position without much difficulty.

Ah Chen naturally knew much more, but nothing ordinary.

The commissioner wanted an ordinary life, and she couldn’t overdo it.

Working as a clerk, while an ordinary life, wasn’t a long-term plan for her. She just wanted a temporary job that provided food and accommodation and to earn her first bit of money.

Working here was not free; she wanted to do something with more freedom. The commissioner had no specific requirements for what to do, as long as it didn’t involve mingling with those affluent individuals.

She had already thought about what to do, but for now, she needed to meet basic needs and save a little startup capital. Why just a little? Running a stall shouldn’t require much money, right?

[”Host, someone is watching you,”] said 997.

Ah Chen laughed: [”They can watch if they like, it doesn’t affect my life.”]

The only people who could be watching her were those around Xiao Su. Right now, Xiao Su had to be busy meeting with Qin Zhiyao and probably didn’t have time to keep an eye on her.

Ah Chen had just successfully gotten the job and started at the store. Shortly after, a customer approached and was very satisfied with her sales pitch. The store manager, seeing she was really talented, was very pleased.

This young lady was beautiful and knew their brand very well; she realized she hadn’t misjudged her.

But, the opposite party was only working for a month.

Ordinarily, she wouldn’t agree to someone like this starting work and immediately getting hands-on.

However, the aura that the other person exuded left her unable to resist wanting to see more.

After all, she’s just an intern clerk, and she could make decisions about that. The other person’s image was also attractive in the store. Besides, this Li Chen holding their perfume and introducing it to customers, anyone who saw it would find it tasteful.

Actually, their perfume brand wasn’t a luxury brand, just a mid-range product aimed at the general public. However, whenever a customer came in, it was hard not to buy a bottle from her.

It wasn’t her flowery words that deceived them; it was that the scent was satisfying to customers, one they wouldn’t regret later.

When the customers left, and there was a lull, the store manager, Lang Liqing, came to Ah Chen and said: ”You don’t seem ordinary, do you?”

Ah Chen smiled and said, ”Just ordinary, just went through something extraordinary.”

Following Xiao Su for these years, the commissioner’s temperament naturally changed significantly. While returning to ordinary life, there was no need to deliberately suppress her temperament to look like an ordinary person. She could carry on just fine.

What the commissioner referred to as ordinary life should be called returning to a life that belongs to her, Ah Chen thought.

She just couldn’t go back to those connections, so she could only separate from those people and do something she was interested in, after all, it’s not a life that the commissioner herself might experience.

If it was up to the commissioner, she might really become ordinary, but there could also be a different kind of brilliance.

Lang Liqing was taken aback by what Ah Chen said, finding it very intriguing.

”After working here for a month, what do you plan to do?”

”Setting up a stall,” Ah Chen replied with a smile, ”I make pretty good fried mushrooms and mushroom soup. It should be popular.”

Lang Liqing didn’t expect this answer and wondered what the other person had gone through, but couldn’t guess. She said, ”Then you’ll have to let me know when you do it, I’ll come see and try it. If it’s not delicious, I won’t pay.”

Even though it was only the first day they’d met, Lang Liqing felt that talking to Li Chen was quite enjoyable, very relaxing and comfortable, making her naturally a bit closer.

”Sure,” Ah Chen agreed.

At noon, Ah Chen and Lang Liqing had lunch in the store.

Suddenly, Lang Liqing said to her, ”Someone’s watching from over there, are they looking at you?”

Ah Chen glanced up and saw someone standing diagonally across, it was Han Fangli. Seeing her look up, he waved at her, showing a smile.

”Seems like a nice man, at least he looks good, and judging by his attire, his family’s conditions should be quite good,” Lang Liqing remarked, ”Is he pursuing you?”

Ah Chen leaned closer and said, ”He might be, but not the kind looking for marriage, just for fun.”

Lang Liqing’s expression changed, saying, ”That’s not interesting.”

”But if it’s just about getting some money, it’s okay, he’s good-looking, it’s not a loss,” she added.

Ah Chen smiled, ”That’s true, but I don’t want to lose dignity. Being with rich people, you have to endure things others can’t, it’s not easy money, it really hurts the self-esteem, can’t handle it.”

”Haha,” Lang Liqing laughed, ”Actually, me too, some money shouldn’t be earned by people like us who want some dignity. This handsome one is barely acceptable, but with those ugly ones, those beautiful women can endure, the money isn’t easily earned.”

”Anyway, I can’t do it, let others earn it.”

”Do you think I look okay? I used to have bosses wanting to keep me, but I didn’t agree, that money I couldn’t handle. That’s when I realized I wasn’t that in love with money, haha.” As she spoke, Lang Liqing couldn’t help but laugh, ”Being a store manager doesn’t make as much as those rich people, but it’s more than the average person, apart from being tiring and stressful, I’m quite satisfied, at least I earn it with peace of mind, without having to serve anyone. I can relax on holidays, and life is quite good. Plus, most customers are women, it’s quite easy to get along with them.”

”Actually, I used to sell men’s clothing, high-end men’s clothing, then I stopped and came to sell perfume,” she added.

Ah Chen understood, Lang Liqing was indeed very pretty, and with a good figure, she must not lack suitors.

”He’s still watching you.”

Ah Chen: ”Let him watch, his eyes are on him; you can’t just dig them out.”

”Haha...” Lang Liqing burst into laughter, ”You’re really funny.”

The recent conversation seemed to make Lang Liqing somewhat understand Li Chen’s identity.

But soon, Lang Liqing got the truth. Feeling drowsy in the afternoon with no customers, Lang Liqing was playing with her phone and suddenly came across a video. She watched it from start to finish and even saw the face of the female protagonist.

She brought the phone to Ah Chen and showed her the video: ”Looks like you’ve been filmed.”

”The video is very complete, the person who edited it was quite conscientious, didn’t crop the head or tail. Surprisingly, not many people were cursing you, but the host of the live broadcast and that ill-mannered guy were scolded more.”

She glanced at the person outside: ”Is the one outside the same person in the video who said he wants you to be with him?”

Ah Chen nodded: ”It’s him.”

Lang Liqing sneered, ”Birds of a feather, what good can come from that? If you just want money, don’t get involved with them.”

”I know that.”

”You used to sincerely care for Mr. Xiao, right?”

Ah Chen’s eyes smiled, speaking on behalf of the commissioner: ”When young and naive, alone, meeting someone so nice, how could you not be moved?”

Lang Liqing sighed; it wasn’t just being alone, most people couldn’t resist a gentle, handsome, and wealthy man.

”Really not worth it,” she said, ”You didn’t ask for anything.”

A bit silly.

But she truly picked up her pride, decisively giving them a slap in the face, letting people laugh at them.

The one in their group who was live streaming, that was truly laughable, trying to slap Li Chen, but ending up busting his own face.

Ah Chen didn’t answer. This was the commissioner’s wish, and she naturally had to help fulfill it.

Wei Hui over there had already seen the video and immediately paid to have it deleted.

But since it involved Xiao Su, there were quite a few people who didn’t like him; not only wasn’t the video deleted, it flared up even more fiercely, reaching more people.

The originally observant Han Fangli, while keeping an eye on Ah Chen, was stunned on receiving a call, then burst out laughing. Though friends with Xiao Su, they weren’t really close, just amiable acquaintances.

He stepped towards the perfume store.
