A Journey That Changed The World.

Chapter 1669: Full Picture

Archer continued designing the Companyʼs holiday getaway for the people as Kassandra tapped the map, finger lingering on the Northeast island. ”Brightreef for the creatures, and this Northwest haven for the people. What will you call it?ʼʼ

He paused, his gaze drifting to the mana projection, where steam curled like spirits rising from the islandʼs heart. ʼʼEmberhaven,ʼʼ he said at last. ʼʼA place born of fire but crafted for peace.ʼʼ

Kassandra nodded, her eyes gleaming with approval. ”Emberhaven and Brightreef. Two islands, two purposes, but both tying Draconia together. What about the other two?”

She unfurled the map further, revealing the Southeast and Southwest islands, their outlines hinting at jungles and misty marshes. ʼʼWhatʼs your vision for them?ʼʼ

Archer grinned, leaning forward. ʼʼLetʼs keep going.ʼʼ

Kassandra pointed out another. ʼʼWhat about this one?ʼʼ she asked, her voice laced with anticipation. ʼʼItʼs all dense jungles and rolling hills. Whatʼs your plan for it?ʼʼ

He leaned over the map, his eyes narrowing as he studied the Southeast island. The mana projection above the table shifted, revealing a lush landscape where foliage draped over fertile plains, fed by clear streams winding through the terrain, making it look like a green garden.

ʼʼThis oneʼs a gem,ʼʼ he expressed with a smile. ʼʼThe soil here is the richest Iʼve ever seen, humming with life. Itʼs perfect for growing crops. We could turn this island into Draconiaʼs breadbasket.ʼʼ

Kassandra raised an eyebrow, intrigued. ʼʼA farming island? For the Monster Park?ʼʼ

ʼʼNot just for the Park,ʼʼ he clarified, pen darting across a fresh sheet of paper as he sketched rows of fields. ʼʼThe Draconia Monster Park will need a steady supply of feed for the creatures, grains for the herbivores, and rare herbs for the magical beasts. This islandʼs soil can grow anything, from hearty root crops to exotic plants weʼve barely cataloged. Weʼll set up terraced farms along the hills, irrigated by those streams, and dedicate patches for experimental crops to study what thrives best.ʼʼ

His face lit up as he continued. ʼʼThe Company could export surplus harvests to the mainland, feeding Draconians or the markets. Itʼll be self-sustaining and profitable.ʼʼ

Kassandra nodded, imagining golden fields swaying under the sun, workers tending to crops while distant roars from the Monster Park echoed faintly. ʼʼA farming hub makes sense. Keeps the Park running and ties the islands into a network. Whatʼs the name?ʼʼ

Archer tapped his quill against the table, his gaze fixed on the mana projectionʼs lush greenery. ʼʼVerdantreach,ʼʼ he responded. ʼʼIt captures the islandʼs fertility and its reach toward feeding the empire.ʼʼ

ʼʼVerdantreach,ʼʼ Kassandra repeated, testing the name with a smile. ʼʼI like it. And the Southwest?ʼʼ

She pointed to the final island, its map marked by swirling mists and low, marshy expanses dotted with willows. ʼʼThis oneʼs all fog and wetlands. What can you do with that?ʼʼ

The mana projection shifted again, revealing a misty isle where soft lights glimmered through the haze, reflected in still, shallow pools. Archerʼs expression softened, a thoughtful glint in his eyes. ”This oneʼs special,” he said.ʼʼThe Southwest is a place of learning; those marshes and mists hold an almost sacred calm. Iʼm thinking of creating a center for learning, a place for scholars, professors, and the children of the empire to study.ʼʼ

Archer showed her more plans. ʼʼWeʼll build class pavilions raised above the wetlands, connected by wooden walkways. Small libraries and meditation halls, infused with mana to keep the air clear and serene. The Company can hire teachers and everything needed to thrive there. ʼʼ

Kassandra leaned closer, captivated by the vision. ʼʼA learning island? Thatʼs unexpected. But it fits if we can teach the next generation of Draconians.ʼʼ

ʼʼThatʼs what I thought when landing on the island after the legions cleared it,ʼʼ Archer said, sketching a pavilion surrounded by glowing willows. ʼʼThe Monster Park and Emberhaven will draw crowds, Verdantreach will feed them, and this island will give the empire a future. Weʼll call it Greenhaven.ʼʼ

Kassandra sat back, her gaze sweeping over the map, now alive with purpose for all four islands. ”Ashenreef for the creatures, Emberhaven for rest, Verdantreach for sustenance, and Greenhaven for the soul. Youʼve woven them together, Archer. Draconia wonʼt just be a land, itʼll be your legacy, handsome.ʼʼ

Archer grinned, setting his quill down. ʼʼThatʼs the plan. Now we just need Wyldheart to approve the designs and start building. Think theyʼll go for it?ʼʼ

Kassandra laughed softly, her eyes gleaming with confidence. ʼʼWith a vision like this? Theyʼd be fools not to.ʼʼ

Following that, hours slipped by, its flickering light casting long shadows across the cluttered table. Kassandra sat quietly, her chin resting on her hand, watching Archer work with relentless focus. His pen danced across paper after paper, each sheet filling with designs that seemed to pulse with the same mana he used to shape his projections.

The room was silent save for the scratch of the quill and the occasional hum of his mana conjuring new visions above the table. Piles of sketches had grown around him, detailing everything from the coral-encrusted paths of Brightreef to the steaming bathhouses of Emberhaven.

Kassandraʼs eyes followed his every move, marveling at the way his ideas flowed as effortlessly as the rivers heʼd drawn for Verdantreach. Finally, Archer set his pen down, stretching his arms with a satisfied sigh. ʼʼAlright,ʼʼ he finally spoke. ʼʼI think itʼs time to show you the full picture.ʼʼ

He gathered the scattered paper, organizing it into four neat stacks, one for each island. With a wave of his hand, the mana projection above the table expanded, transforming into a vibrant, three-dimensional map of Draconiaʼs four islands, each glowing with its own distinct hue and character.

Kassandra straightened, her breath catching as the projection came to life. ʼʼYouʼve been busy,ʼʼ she said, her tone a mix of awe and amusement.

ʼʼHad to get it right,ʼʼ Archer replied, his grin boyish despite the hours of meticulous work. He pointed to the first stack of sketches and the corresponding island in the projection. ʼʼLetʼs start with Brightreef, the Northeast.ʼʼ

The mana projection zoomed in, revealing a sprawling landscape of flat plains crisscrossed by shimmering rivers, fringed by a vibrant coral reef that glowed in shades of turquoise and violet. ʼʼThe Draconia Monster Park will take center stage here. Look, open enclosures for the land beasts, like those massive horned grazers.ʼʼ

Archer pointed at another part. ʼʼOver here, aquatic pens for the sea monsters, reinforced with mana barriers to keep them contained but visible. Iʼve added elevated walkways for visitors to stroll above the plains, with viewing platforms near the reef for underwater spectacles. Thereʼs even a marketplace at the heart, with stalls selling creature-inspired crafts and food sourced from Verdantreach.ʼʼ

Kassandra leaned closer, her eyes tracing the walkways that curved gracefully over the plains. ʼʼYouʼve made it safe but wild,ʼʼ she said. ʼʼPeople will feel like theyʼre part of Draconia.ʼʼ

Archer nodded, moving to the next stack. ʼʼNow, Emberhaven, the Northwest.ʼʼ

The projection shifted to a volcanic island, its blackstone cliffs softened by steaming hot springs and lush, heat-tolerant vines. ʼʼThis is the holiday retreat. Resorts dot the gentler slopes, built from polished obsidian to blend with the landscape. Hereʼs a central spa complex, bathhouses fed by geothermal pools, with private soaking tubs carved into the cliffs.ʼʼ

The young woman looked amazed. ʼʼIʼve added shaded pavilions for dining, serving dishes made with Verdantreach crops, and scenic trails winding through cooled lava fields. Thereʼs a stargazing terrace up here,ʼʼ he pointed to a high plateau. ʼʼWhere visitors can watch the worldʼs moon rise over the volcanoes.ʼʼ

Kassandraʼs lips parted in wonder. ʼʼItʼs luxurious but raw. Draconians will love it, and outsiders will pay a fortune to escape here.ʼʼ

ʼʼThatʼs the plan,ʼʼ Archer spoke, his enthusiasm growing as he tapped the third stack. ʼʼNext, Verdantreach, the Southeast.ʼʼ

The projection bloomed into a green paradise of rolling hills and fertile plains, fed by crystal-clear streams. ʼʼThis is our agricultural hub. Farms cover the hills, growing everything from hearty grains to rare herbs for the Monster Parkʼs creatures. Iʼve designed irrigation channels to maximize the soilʼs potential.ʼʼ

He pointed at one projection. ʼʼLook how rich it is, almost black with nutrients. Thereʼs a small village here for farmers, with storehouses to preserve crops for export. Iʼve even planned experimental plots for cultivating magical plants, the kind that glow or heal. The surplus will feed the Park, Emberhavenʼs resorts, and even mainland markets.ʼʼ

Kassandra turned her gaze down, brushing the sketch of a terraced field, where workers tended glowing plants under a golden sun. ʼʼYouʼre not just feeding the empire, youʼre making it thrive.ʼʼ

Archerʼs grin widened, and he turned to the final stack. ʼʼAnd hereʼs Greenhaven, the Southwest.ʼʼ

The projection shifted to a misty island of marshlands and glowing willows, where wooden walkways wove through shallow pools. ʼʼThis is the sanctuary for learning I designed. Raised pavilions with academies, schools, and all kinds of stuff built above the wetlands, connected by bridges, perfect for teaching the next generation.ʼʼ
