A Journey That Changed The World.

Chapter 1281: These Monsters Are Tricky

Archer watched Larka breakdown, but she explained. ’’There’s no excuse for what I did. I want to prove I can help.’’

He nodded in understanding, his expression firm but measured. Turning toward the window, he caught sight of Mia, who was fussing over a smiling Sia. With a sigh, he spoke, his voice steady.

’’Work with them,’’ he said, his tone resolute. ’’Show me you’re truly sorry by helping grandmother with the kingdom’s finances. But make no mistake, if you try anything dodgy, you’ll face the same punishment as anyone else.’’

When Larka heard this, she quickly nodded while speaking in a cheerful voice. ’’I won’t let you down, I promise.’’

Archer nodded with a smile before warning. ’’This doesn’t mean you’re forgiven. It needs to be earned, but I won’t be vindictive and will be friendlier.’’

Following that, the two of them returned to the bedroom, where Albert’s head snapped toward the duo. Larka smiled at him and gave the old man a small nod, causing him to bear hug Archer.

’’Thank you, grandson,’’ he said in a low voice. ’’Many wouldn’t have done that, but I’m grateful.’’

Archer pushed the old man away before replying. ’’You’re right, but I want to let go of the past to focus on my children and the ongoing war.’’

Moments later, Aeris and Sia looked at him with a big smile as the dragonkin woman commented. ’’I don’t mean to be rude, handsome, but I’m tired and need some sleep. Would you come visit me again?’’

When the wraith heard his words, she whispered her goodbyes before melting into the shadows at Archer’s feet. Mia and Albert exchanged surprised glances, but Archer simply laughed, shaking his head.

’’She can travel like this,’’ he explained with a grin. ’’It makes things a lot easier.’’

They both nodded in understanding, still processing the strange but efficient method. Archer then turned his attention to Sia. He moved toward her and pulled her into a tight embrace as he pressed his lips to hers, which made the older woman shiver before they separated.

’’Be careful out there, handsome. I heard the Alliance is gathering their forces in Avidia,’’ she warned.

Archer nodded. ’’I know. But get some rest and send me a message if you need anything,’’ he said in a warm voice.

He kissed her forehead before hugging Mia and saying his farewells to the others before teleporting back into the Domain, but as he went to leave, he noticed Larka looking at him just as she smiled.

Once they arrived, he slumped onto the sofa, exhaling deeply. Before he could fully relax, Aeris appeared in his lap, her bright smile radiating warmth as she got comfortable while running her fingers over his abs.

’’I’m happy we got to spend some time together, handsome,’’ she said, her voice filled with affection. ’’I’ve been so busy with training, Grandmother is a strict teacher.’’

Archer chuckled when hearing that and cast Aurora Healing on the wraith woman, who sighed in relief. She cupped his cheeks before planting a passionate kiss against his lips while pushing her body against his.

The young woman started gyrating her hips, causing him to break apart, and asked with a raised eyebrow. ’’Are you sure you ready Aeris?’’

’’You’re right,’’ she replied while deflating. ’’I got carried away, but I’d like to spend more time together.’’

Archer kissed her forehead before pulling out some cheeseburgers and hotdogs, which caught the young woman’s attention. She sniffed the air while sitting next to him. ’’What is this smell? It’s delicious,’’ she asked.

He chuckled when noticing her red eyes glowed, but explained. ’’This is food from another world.’’

Aeris didn’t waste time and started with a burger, only to moan when she took a bite and got excited. While the two were eating, Aisha sent him a message, ’I have a woman named Inara here wanting to see you, love. What do you want me to do?’

His eyes widened, causing him to open a portal where the dragonkin woman, ’Send her through.’

Moments later, the grey-haired lioness stepped through, her face lighting up with a radiant smile the moment she saw him. Archer’s gaze swept over her, taking in every detail, the way her smooth, brown skin glowed in the flickering firelight.

The way her striking red, cat-like eyes locked onto him with warmth and intensity. He had always thought her beautiful, but now, standing there bathed in firelight, she was utterly breathtaking.

’’I swear to all the gods every time I see you get even better looking, my king,’’ she said with a big smile while bowing.

This gave Archer the perfect view of her cleavage, which made Aeris giggle. ’’So it’s true you like the older women as well.’’

’’Now that I’m older, I prefer a calm, mature woman like Inara here than some feral teenage princess who thinks she’s the world,’’ he revealed. ’’I heard the Duskfire Princesses are a rowdy bunch, and that’s off-putting to me.’’

’’Feral teenagers?’’ Aeris said before laughing, and the lioness joined in as the wraith continued. ’’That’s one way of seeing things, considering you got with some girls when you were all younger.’’

Archer turned away from her with a smile. ’’It doesn’t count, you little shit,’’ he said.

Following that, he ushered Inara to a nearby couch as she watched them. ’’Come on Nara, sit down and eat with us.’’

’’Nara?’’ the older woman repeated, her expression caught between amusement and curiosity.

Archer turned to her with a playful smile. ’’Yes. That’s your nickname now,’’ he said casually before gesturing toward the table. ’’Now come eat.’’

She huffed, shaking her head with a smirk, but the warmth in her eyes betrayed her fondness for the name and him. Afterward, the three of them started eating before Aeris suddenly jumped out of her skin.

’’Are you okay?’’ he asked with an amused smile.

’’Sorry about that, grandmother scared me,’’ she revealed before sighing. ’’I need to get back to my training. The old hag has a test for me.’’

Aeris stood up as Archer opened a portal to her mansion back on Draconia. ’’Send me a message when you’re free. We’ll go on a date,’’ he said with a charming smile.

The dark-haired woman beamed before kissing him and rushing through the portal, leaving them alone. Once the Gate closed, Inara spoke with a knowing expression. ’’It seems like you’re loved.’’

’’That I am,’’ he replied while taking a bite of a hamburger.

Inara joined him and started trying the food as Archer announced. ’’You’ll be staying beside me for a while.’’

When the older woman heard this, her smile grew wider. ’’that’s fine with me. I was getting bored staying on the island even though the place is massive.’’

Archer chuckled as the duo continued their conversation, their laughter filling the room. But just as he was about to take another bite, Talila’s voice echoed in his mind, laced with urgency.

’We may need your help, Arch. These monsters are tricky. They’ve killed most of your creatures,’ she said in a breathless voice.

Without hesitation, he grabbed Inara’s hand, and in a flash of light, they vanished, reappearing in the heart of the swamps. The stench of damp earth and blood filled the air, and the deafening sounds of battle crashed around them.

Before them, chaos raged, monstrous creatures swarmed the battlefield, their twisted forms lunging at the legionnaires who fought valiantly to hold the line. Blades clashed, spells ignited the darkness, and war cries echoed through the murky terrain.

’’Inara, go find Talila and Elara while I deal with the monsters,’’ he said in a low voice.

The lioness agreed and summoned her sword before dashing forward while cutting down dozens of creatures that were in her way. Archer’s grin widened as he sent his dragon aura that froze everything and everyone.

’Let’s see what they do now,’ he thought.

Seeing the battlefield engulfed in chaos, Archer wasted no time. He activated Mana Manipulation, creating dozens of small orbs, and with a flick of his hand, the missiles streaked through the air like blazing comets.

The moment they struck, the spells burrowed deep into the monsters’ torsos before detonating in a series of explosions. Bursts of energy illuminated the battlefield as the explosions tore flesh apart and turned the creatures to ashes.

Screeches of agony filled the swamp as creatures fell in droves, their bodies reduced to nothing but ash and scattered remains. A roar of triumph erupted from the Draconians, their morale surging at the overwhelming display of power.

As the battlefield quieted, Archer turned his gaze toward the women approaching him. He immediately saw Talila clutching a wound and Elara covered in dirt and grime. Without hesitation, he raised his hand and cast Cleanse on Elara.

A gentle glow washed over her, wiping away the filth and restoring her pristine form. Then, shifting his focus to Talila, he summoned Aurora Healing, his mana was swirling around the dragonkin woman, sealing her wounds and easing her pain.
