Pregnant During An Apocalypse [BL]

Chapter 288: Chapter 289 - Oozing

Inside the locked-up house, Shao was in complete agony.

The moment the anesthesia wore off, it was like a fuse had been lit in his veins. Fire—no, something worse—burned through every inch of him, especially down low. His body wasn’t just hot; it was screaming. His skin prickled, his chest heaved, and his fingers instinctively clawed at his lower abdomen, his hips twitching as if trying to grind into something that wasn’t there. The ache between his legs throbbed with a desperate, maddening urgency.

He was rutting.

And it wasn’t like the smaller heats he’d experienced before. No. This was worse. More primal. More feral. His breath came in ragged, steamy gasps, puffs of fog escaping his mouth in the cooled room air. He pressed a trembling hand to his forehead, then the floor, then dragged his nails down the wall as his body refused to calm down.

Then he remembered.

Jai.

His Jai.

A soft moan escaped his lips as his thoughts spiraled. He didn’t want just anything. He didn’t want to plunge into a random body or be touched by a stranger. No—he wanted Jai. Only Jai.

He wanted to pin Jai down on the bed, tear his clothes off one by one and press into every inch of him. He wanted to bury himself inside him, mark him, leave trails of kisses down his neck, his chest, his thighs. He wanted Jai to scream and cry from pleasure, arch against him, cling to him like he was the only thing that mattered in the world.

He wanted to watch Jai’s expression twist from smug to breathless, to sobbing from too much pleasure, to utterly ruined and trembling in his arms. He wanted to hear him moan his name—Shao... please... Shao...

Shao groaned, head falling back against the cool floor as he trembled. His body was coated in sweat, his hair plastered to his neck and cheeks. His pupils were blown wide, eyes bloodshot. He crawled, no, scratched his way to the door, hands shaking violently. He could feel it—feel Jai’s presence just outside the thick barrier keeping them apart.

He pressed his ear to the wood, panting, then clawed at it desperately.

He wanted to open it. Wanted to grab Jai and yank him in. Kiss him until he couldn’t breathe. Until he was dizzy. Until he was begging. Until he was his, completely, irrevocably his.

But the door wouldn’t budge.

And he couldn’t trust himself right now.

Still, his body refused to back down. His claws scraped against the wood again, whimpering with need. ”Jai...” he whispered hoarsely through the door, lips brushing against it. ”I need you... I want you...”

But outside, all he could hear was Jai’s calm voice.

Shao pressed his forehead against the wood and let out a low, guttural groan of frustration.

He ached. Not just in his body, but in his chest. His Jai was so close—just on the other side of this damned door. And yet so far.

His fingers dug into the floorboards as he tried to resist the primal urges clawing at him from inside out.

This wasn’t just lust.

It was need.

Jai sat with his back pressed firmly against the door, knees pulled up, arms folded around them as he rested his chin on top. His voice stayed light, calm—almost cheerful—as he kept talking, not once stopping.

”The trees in our yard used to be so crooked, remember? One looked like it was permanently waving. I used to climb it and pretend it was a ship mast... almost broke my leg once.” He chuckled softly.

Inside the room, Shao didn’t reply, but Jai could still sense him—his presence pressing against the door from the other side like a feverish weight. His growls had stopped, but the heat hadn’t faded. If anything, it had seeped out through the gap beneath the door and curled around Jai’s body like invisible smoke.

And he could smell it.

That same scent—warm, earthy, intoxicating. Like burning agarwood and something heavier beneath it. Spicier. Sharper.

At first, Jai thought he was imagining it. But no—his own body was starting to react.

His heart thudded, ears warm. He shifted slightly, trying to shake off the tight feeling in his chest and the... odd weight between his legs. But it didn’t help. If anything, it made it worse.

His lower half felt hot.

Really hot.

His thighs twitched slightly and he tried to press them together without making it obvious. There was a strange fluttering deep inside him—somewhere he didn’t usually pay attention to. A tingling pressure. The kind that made his cheeks heat up in embarrassment even when he was just sitting alone in the dark.

What the hell was happening?

He pressed his legs tighter together.

Maybe he was just... tired?

Maybe it was empathy?

He kept talking, his voice only slightly shakier now. ”One time I fell into the koi pond and came out covered in algae and fish poop. Grandpa tried to act serious, but he laughed so hard he dropped his teacup... and then scolded me after, of course...”

But the words were beginning to blend. Jai could barely concentrate. His thoughts were muddy. The scent of Shao was thick in the air now—like it was seeping into his clothes, under his skin, inside his lungs.

And worse, the place he had never dared touch—never even thought to explore—was throbbing. Tight and wet and strange.

His eyes widened just slightly.

Was he...?

No, it couldn’t be.

But when he shifted again, trying to get more comfortable, the slight movement of his hips caused a pulse of sensation to shoot through him—hot, electric, shamefully good. His breath caught in his throat.

”...the grass is really green today,” he mumbled, voice a little too high-pitched. ”Nice weather for a picnic...”

His body felt like it was betraying him.

Something was oozing. He could feel it. He didn’t know what, but it was warm and slippery and making the sensation worse. His legs squeezed together again, this time instinctively, and he let out a tiny, unintentional sound.

A soft moan.

His eyes went wide.

Had Shao heard that?

He slapped a hand over his mouth quickly and coughed. ”Ugh, I—I swallowed a bug,” he mumbled into his palm, cheeks flaming.

Why was this happening?

Why now?

Why here?

And why did he feel like... like if Shao opened that door right now, he wouldn’t be able to stop himself from walking straight into his arms?

Jai stayed where he was, trembling slightly, still talking about nothing in particular—anything to keep both their minds from slipping. But deep down, he was starting to fear that he might break first.
