Pregnant During An Apocalypse [BL]

Chapter 267: Chapter 267 - Uneasy Nights *

The hallway had fallen quiet after the long day. The air inside the house felt warmer now that everyone had eaten, bandaged up, and found their places to rest. For a while, everything had been calm.

Jai stood awkwardly outside Grandpa Kailun’s room. His fingers fidgeted with the hem of his shirt, his eyes flicking to the other side of the hallway—to Shao’s door.

The one Shao now shared with Qui Yue.

Jai didn’t know why, but the thought sat heavy in his chest. A weird prickling sensation spread beneath his skin. It wasn’t like he thought Qui Yue would do anything—no, it wasn’t that. Shao wouldn’t let it happen either. But still...

He bit his lip, hard enough to taste a faint tinge of metal.

What was it he didn’t like? The idea of Shao being somewhere he couldn’t see him? The thought of Shao sleeping next to someone else, even just on the floor?

He rubbed his forehead, frustrated.

”Jai?” a low whisper called out. He jumped slightly.

Grandpa Kailun stood by the door, frowning slightly. ”Why are you standing out here like that?”

Jai swallowed quickly. ”Coming, Grandpa.”

He rushed in before Kailun could say anything more and shut the door behind him.

They both lay down on the bed, shoulder to shoulder. The room was dark, except for a faint orange glow from the hallway slipping in through the thin curtains.

Jai turned on his side, gazing at his grandfather’s profile. His eyes moved over the deep lines etched in the man’s face, the kind that only came from years of surviving—of fighting through hell and crawling out of it.

”Hey... Grandpa?” he whispered.

Kailun let out a sleepy hum.

”How many times can you use your power?”

There was a pause before the old man replied, voice groggy. ”I guess... only once per day... After that... I get even more sleepy...”

He gave a long yawn, followed by the sound of quiet, even breathing. Fast asleep.

Jai blinked at the ceiling.

He didn’t know why, but tonight, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t fall asleep. It was like sleep had decided to mock him, dancing just out of reach. His mind spun restlessly, images flashing behind his eyelids every time he closed them—Shao’s fingers on his skin, the kiss, the heat of that moment, the way Shao had looked at him, calm but unreadable.

And the marks.

The marks Shao had left behind.

His chest tightened. A strange warmth pooled in his gut, and his cheeks burned in the dark. He shouldn’t be thinking about it.

Not here.

Not beside his grandfather for gods sake!

But his body didn’t listen.

The marks on his skin—especially those on his nipples—still tingled faintly. A low heat radiated from them, like an echo of Shao’s touch had never really left. Jai bit his lip again and shifted on the bed, bringing a hand up to gently rub over them through his shirt.

A jolt shot down his limbs.

Gritting his teeth, Jai rolled over and buried his face into the pillow. He squeezed his eyes shut.

He couldn’t do this. Not here.

Jai groaned softly, shifting beneath the sheets as an uncomfortable heat pooled low in his stomach. His body was restless, his skin prickling with an unfamiliar tension.

He rolled onto his side, willing the sensation to fade, but it only grew more insistent. His breath hitched as he became acutely aware of the throbbing between his legs—hard, aching, demanding attention. His cheeks burned with embarrassment as he glanced over his shoulder at his grandfather, who lay still in the other bed, his chest rising and falling in the steady rhythm of deep sleep.

Good. He’s out.

Jai swallowed thickly, his fingers twitching with the need to relieve the pressure. He couldn’t stay like this. Moving as quietly as possible, he slipped out from under the covers, cupping his obvious bulge with one hand to muffle any sound. His heart hammered against his ribs as he tiptoed toward the bathroom, each step agonizingly slow.

The moment the door clicked shut behind him, he sagged against it, exhaling shakily. His fingers trembled as he hastily pushed down his pants, freeing his aching length. It stood stiff and flushed, veins prominent under taut skin. Biting his lip, he wrapped his fingers around himself, stroking experimentally.

But nothing happened.

He tried again, firmer this time, his breath coming in short, frustrated gasps. His body burned, his muscles coiled tight with need—yet no matter how he touched himself, the tension refused to break.

Why isn’t it working?!

Panic clawed at his throat. He’d done this countless times before—why was his body betraying him now? Desperate, he grabbed the bar of soap from the sink, lathering his palm before trying again. The slick glide felt better, smoother, but still—nothing. His stomach twisted in frustration.

No, no, no—this can’t be happening!

His mind raced. Maybe cold water would shock his system back to normal. He stumbled into the shower, twisting the knob all the way to the left. Icy droplets sprayed down, stinging his overheated skin. He gritted his teeth, willing his body to respond, but the cold only made his skin prickle—his arousal remained stubbornly untouched.

What the hell is wrong with me?!

Defeated, he slumped against the tiled wall, water dripping down his face. His body ached, his nerves alight with an unrelenting fire. He had to do something.

Then—an idea flickered in the back of his mind. Something he’d never tried before.

Hesitantly, he lifted a hand to his chest, fingers brushing over one of his nipples. A sharp jolt of pleasure shot through him, making his breath catch. His hips jerked instinctively, and he bit back a whimper.

Oh.

Encouraged, he did it again, rolling the sensitive bud between his fingers. Heat surged through him, pooling low in his stomach. His other hand returned to his length, stroking in time with the teasing touches to his chest.

The sensations built rapidly, his body trembling on the edge. His breath came in ragged gasps, his toes curling against the wet floor. Then—

A broken moan escaped his lips as his release hit him hard, spilling over his fingers and splattering onto the shower tiles. His legs gave out, and he slid down the wall, panting heavily as waves of pleasure wracked his body.

For a long moment, he just sat there, dazed, water still cascading over him.

Then reality crashed back in.

Oh god... I’ve... I’ve just...

His face burned hotter than before. He had never reacted like that to touching himself there.

I’ve gained a new fetish now...

Internally, he screamed.
