Wu dong Qian Kun: I, Lin Langtian, Refuse to be a Supporting Character

As the Demon Domain began to close, the various sects started to withdraw. News of what happened within spread like wildfire.

The Tianxuan Sect disciples had been completely wiped out.

When people first heard this, shock and disbelief must have been the primary reactions. The Tianxuan Sect, the most powerful sect of the Western Xuan Region, was revered, its disciples among the most elite of their generation. Tianxuan’s own Prince Gengtian had few rivals among the young fighters of the Western Region. Yet, in this year’s Sect Tournament, not only did Gengtian perish, but not one of the nearly six hundred elite Tianxuan disciples left the Demon Domain alive.

What had happened in there?

This shocking news quickly spread, and soon, the name behind it became widely known. Everyone was dumbfounded. No alliance of sects had conspired to target the Tianxuan Sect, nor had some massive battle taken place between disciples. It was a single person, battling alone against the entire Tianxuan Sect and slaying them all: Yuan Gate’s Lin Langtian.

Lin Langtian, already famous in the Eastern Xuan Region, had his name spread across the Western Xuan Region almost overnight at lightning speed.

”This guy… he’s insane…” This was everyone’s reaction upon hearing the news. How could one person possibly defeat Gengtian and eliminate so many Tianxuan disciples? Such a feat seemed impossible.

As the shock spread, yet another piece of news rocked the Demon Domain.

Yuan Gate’s ”Three Little Princes” and their four hundred disciples had also been wiped out, again by a single person.

When this news broke, it caused another wave of disbelief. Although the Yuan Gate team had split into two factions, the ”Three Little Princes” led the official Yuan Gate team, while Lin Langtian’s Fire Sect was only a branch. With the Seven Divisions’ support and Yuan Cang’s established reputation, it seemed Lin Langtian’s group could never challenge Yuan Cang’s forces head-on. Yet, Lin Langtian’s team had utterly crushed the Tianxuan Sect, while Yuan Cang and his elite forces had been annihilated—by Lin Dong of the Dao Sect!

The combination of these two revelations sparked intense public discussion. Yuan Gate’s auxiliary team had wiped out the Tianxuan Sect, while its primary team was destroyed by their archenemy, the Dao Sect. Yuan Gate’s leaders would undoubtedly react with shock and rage.

Some could already sense an impending storm. Though disciple deaths were expected in each Sect Tournament, a massacre on this scale was unprecedented. And at the center of it all were Yuan Gate’s disciples.

Whether the Tianxuan Sect sought retribution or Yuan Gate pursued revenge against the Dao Sect, it was certain that turmoil lay ahead. The Demon Domain’s transport portal led directly to Demon City, making it the epicenter of the news. With disciples returning, the city’s population surged, and everyone was captivated by discussions of Lin Langtian’s destruction of the Tianxuan Sect and Lin Dong’s clash with Yuan Gate disciples.

The leaders of various super-sects waited there for their disciples to return, including the Yuan Gate. But instead of celebrations, they were met with news so shocking it left them speechless.

Lin Langtian had obliterated the Tianxuan Sect.

Yuan Cang and the Seven Divisions? Completely annihilated.

As this news spread, Demon City was abuzz. Many turned toward Yuan Gate’s quarters, imagining the upheaval occurring within.

Boom!

In the nearly frozen silence of the main hall, a sturdy wooden table shattered under a powerful fist. Stone Tong, head of the Earth Division, wore a face twisted with rage, his bloodshot eyes filled with fury as his voice thundered throughout the hall.

”The Three Little Princes and the Seven Divisions, utterly wiped out? Someone tell me how this happened! How could a mere brat from Dao Sect named Lin Dong have this kind of power?”

Inside the hall stood around a dozen high-ranking Yuan Gate officials, six of whom were elderly men with faces filled with wrath. They were Yuan Gate’s leaders and six of the heads of Yuan Gate’s Eight Divisions, all at the pinnacle of the Shengxuan Realm.

”That wretch must’ve used some underhanded tricks!” snarled the head of the Gold Division. ”Otherwise, how could he possibly have bested Yuan Cang? Not even that tyrant Zhou Tong inflicted such heavy losses on us!”

”Who is this kid?” Liu You asked darkly. ”Wasn’t Dao Sect’s top disciple supposed to be Ying Xiaoxiao? How did Lin Dong come out of nowhere?”

The others hesitated. Lin Dong had made no waves among the Dao Sect’s disciples. Why would they have thought to monitor him?

”Liu You, Lin Dong is a young genius who rose to prominence in the Hundred Dynasties War alongside Lin Langtian. Both come from the Great Yan Empire, where he performed remarkably in Baichao Mountain before joining Dao Sect,” said Huo Cang, eyes narrowed in contemplation.

”What? He’s only been with Dao Sect for a year and already has such power?” Liu You turned to glare at Liu Tong, the middle-aged man in the corner, his voice icy with accusation.

The man, who was the Yuan Gate representative who had scouted talent at Baichao Mountain, flinched under the harsh words. ”Lord Liu You, Lin Langtian, the Hundred Dynasties champion, had already joined us, so I didn’t focus on anyone else,” he said bitterly. Who could have predicted that the boy he overlooked would, a year later, massacre over four hundred Yuan Gate disciples in a tournament?

As the Demon Domain neared closure, various factions began steadily withdrawing. And as they departed, news of the events within spread with an astonishing intensity.

The Tianxuan Sect disciples had been completely wiped out.

When people first heard this, they were bound to feel shock and disbelief. The Tianxuan Sect was the most powerful sect of the Western Xuan Region, its disciples revered as some of the top young talents. And their leader, the Prince of Tianxuan, was practically undefeated in his region. Yet in this year’s Sect Tournament, not only had he died, but not a single one of the nearly six hundred elite Tianxuan disciples survived.

What exactly happened inside?

The rumors spread rapidly, and soon the name behind it emerged: Yuan Gate’s Lin Langtian. There had been no alliance of sects to take down the Tianxuan Sect. Instead, it was a single individual who faced the entire Tianxuan Sect and slew every last one of them.

This name, already famous in the Eastern Xuan Region, quickly made waves across the Western Xuan Region.

”This guy... he’s insane...”

This was the universal reaction upon hearing the news. How could Lin Langtian, single-handedly, not only defeat the Prince of Tianxuan but also slaughter so many of Tianxuan’s disciples? It was almost beyond belief.

As people were still reeling from this shock, another explosive revelation erupted within the Demon Domain.

Yuan Gate’s ”Three Little Princes” and their four hundred disciples were also wiped out—by one person.

When this news broke, it shook the entire Demon Domain. Although Yuan Gate’s disciples had split into two groups, most saw the ”Three Little Princes” as the official Yuan Gate team, while Lin Langtian’s Fire Division was only a minor faction. With the three ”Little Princes” leading the main contingent and the seven divisions of followers at their command, Lin Langtian’s Fire Division was considered no match for Yuan Cang’s team.

But now Lin Langtian, with his supposedly weaker Fire Division, had obliterated the Tianxuan Sect, and Yuan Cang and his forces had been annihilated—by none other than Lin Dong of the Dao Sect.

These two stunning reports sparked intense discussion. Yuan Gate’s side division destroyed the Tianxuan Sect, while their main team fell to their longtime Dao Sect rival. The Yuan Gate leaders would likely be furious and shocked beyond measure.

Some began to sense a brewing storm. Although casualties were expected in each Sect Tournament, this massacre was unprecedented. And the main actors in both cases were Yuan Gate disciples.

It was only a question of time before the Tianxuan Sect sought revenge or Yuan Gate retaliated against the Dao Sect. The upcoming days would be turbulent indeed. The portal within the Demon Domain led directly to the Demon City, which became the central source of these rumors. With disciples returning, the city’s population exploded, and the events surrounding Lin Langtian’s clash with the Tianxuan Sect and Lin Dong’s battle with Yuan Gate disciples were the most discussed topics in town.

The super-sect leaders, including those from Yuan Gate, waited patiently for their disciples. But rather than hearing about victory, they were met with news shocking enough to leave them speechless.

Lin Langtian had destroyed the Tianxuan Sect.

Yuan Cang and the Seven Divisions? Completely annihilated.

As the news spread, people turned their attention to the Yuan Gate’s quarters, where chaos likely ensued.

Inside Yuan Gate’s Hall

In the tense silence of Yuan Gate’s main hall, the heavy thud of a fist shattered a sturdy wooden table. Stone Tong, the Earth Division leader, looked enraged, his face twisted with fury, and his voice thundered throughout the hall.

”The Three Little Princes and the Seven Divisions, annihilated? Who can explain this? How could that brat from the Dao Sect, Lin Dong, possibly pull this off?”

About a dozen Yuan Gate officials were gathered in the hall, six of whom, all leaders of Yuan Gate’s divisions, stood with expressions of shock and anger.

”That rat must’ve used some underhanded trick!” snarled the Gold Division leader. ”How else could he best Yuan Cang? Not even the likes of Zhou Tong cost us this heavily!”

”Who even is this kid?” demanded Liu You. ”Wasn’t Dao Sect’s strongest supposed to be Ying Xiaoxiao? Where did Lin Dong come from?”

The others hesitated, realizing they’d never considered Lin Dong significant enough to watch.

”Liu You, Lin Dong rose to prominence in the Hundred Dynasties War, alongside Lin Langtian. Both hail from the Great Yan Empire, where he made a name for himself in the Baichao Mountains and later joined the Dao Sect,” Huo Cang replied, his old eyes narrowing.

”What? In only a year with the Dao Sect, he’s gained such power?” Liu You turned, directing his frustration toward Liu Tong, who had been scouting talent for Yuan Gate. ”How could you let someone like this slip through?”

Liu Tong flinched at Liu You’s words. ”My Lord, Lin Langtian was already a champion of the Hundred Dynasties and had joined Yuan Gate. No one could have guessed this would happen,” he replied, his voice filled with regret.

Meanwhile, in the Demon Domain

As Yuan Gate’s leaders argued, Lin Langtian, who had just finished meditating, surveyed the empty surroundings.

”Has everyone else left the Demon Domain?”

Nodding, Song Yun replied, ”Yes. With the Sect Tournament essentially over, the disciples have all exited to the Demon City.”

”That city must be in chaos by now…” commented Mo Tie, looking at Lin Langtian.

Lin Langtian nodded slightly, well aware of the turmoil his actions had likely caused. But he was thinking of something else.

Had Lin Dong really managed to eliminate Yuan Cang and his men?

”Let’s go,” he said.

Though the Demon Domain journey had stirred up quite a bit of trouble, Lin Langtian had gained plenty in return. As for the Tianxuan Sect’s retaliation, he felt confident Yuan Gate would bear the brunt. If it came down to it, and Yuan Gate turned on him, he’d be ready to face them.

With that, Lin Langtian led the Fire Division disciples towards the distant teleportation array, their destination: the Demon City.

In Demon City

Demon City was like a volcano ready to erupt, its tension palpable. Although the Sect Tournament had officially ended, the city bustled more than ever.

Even the super-sect contingents showed no signs of leaving. It was clear to everyone that the Demon City had unfinished business.

At the city center stood a tall altar, atop which sat a radiant teleportation array connected to the Demon Domain’s depths. In recent days, lone travelers and minor sect members had been trickling out, garnering little attention.

But today, as light suddenly flared atop the altar, people grew curious, noting that the light grew stronger—a sign of many people emerging at once. With most major sects’ disciples already gone, they could only wonder who remained inside the Demon Domain.

”Who could it be?”

Many murmured in anticipation, eyes trained on the altar’s apex, eager to catch a glimpse of the legendary talents behind the rumored massacres.

Finally, dozens of figures materialized, and their emblems quickly gave away their identities.

They were the disciples of Yuan Gate’s Fire Division.

The previously noisy city grew silent as everyone’s gaze fell upon one man at the front of the group.

Lin Langtian stood calm and expressionless, as if he hadn’t just committed an earth-shattering act.

Then, the light on the teleportation array flashed again, and another wave of figures emerged—this time, Dao Sect disciples.

Immediately, waves of killing intent surged through the city as several figures hurtled forward, their enraged voices thundering through the air.

”Heartless brat! We’ve waited long enough! Get back to Yuan Gate and answer for your crimes!”

With killing intent surging, six elderly figures with dark, twisted expressions appeared in the sky.

Seeing them, Lin Langtian recognized the group, a smirk appearing on his lips as he muttered to himself.

”Looks like you really did take down Yuan Cang and his men, cousin Lin Dong…”
